Telli arrives in Oscura for an extended stay.

  • The Halfling Defence League

um… you don't actually need mirrors as such, some polished metal plates should be as effective, and alot easyer to make, not to mention cheaper.

  • Telli stops working on one of the rows to speak with Justicar as he approaches.

"Hey ders miste-.....Justicar. Were makings purdy good progress heres. "

Telli motions to the purple haired woman helping orchestrate the farmers and planting of rows.

"All were waiting on nows is Mr Benji and some a da mirror workers ta helps constructs somes mirror cones to reflect da artificials lights ta da ground. Dat and... waitings on Mr Lucy ta helps makes somes a dems gems perminentalies glows fereva. He mentionedededs he'd like ta enchant sometings more perminents dens juss somes lousy gems. Sometings bigger likes an obelisk or sometings... but... if he doesedededs dats wull need ta makes sure its channeled right onta da crops so yuhs people ain'ts jarred by da light. Since yuh saids der nots usedededs ta its."

Telli taps her foot looking around as if half expecting Benji and some of the mirror workers to arrive as well as Lucidious.

((Benji and Lucidious feel free to post in this thread about some of the thing we talked about. I don't wanna put too much action/words from your characters into this if I can help it.))

  • Justicar and his retinue our said to stop by periodically to see how things are progressing

  • The Halfling Defence League

sets the farmers in to groups and sets a group working at each row, turning the earth and setting out the plants in columns going down accross the rows so each row has the same stuff in it

  • Telli grins among her trips back and forth gathering things.

"Yuh and I on da same page… already Gots Mr Benji comings down. Buh nots fer dem shutter tings....wull see if he can muster sometings like dats... how abouts yuhs keeps wid dese farmers and gettings da soil turned over and rudy... Telli's gonna go see if Miste-....Justicar can lend us somes mirror workers. We need ta set up some a dem cones yuhs was talkings abouts.... I'll boder Mr Lucy abouts makings dese gems lasts longers."

  • The Halfling Defence League

To enchant them you got to touch them as part of the process right? That would be hard if them where stuck in the roof, what about some sort of shutter arrangement? like metal curtains as it where, I hear that mister Benji is quite smart, he should be able to work out something of the sorts.

nods and sets to work, organising the farmers and assisting where needed

  • Telli grins pulling open her side satchel on her beltloop as the contents within glow.

"Already aheads a yuhs der… gots me friend ta enchant dese rocks. Buh I likedededs where yuhs tinkings is... Telli didn't tink abouts dose cones idears... buh... since talkings wid Miste.....Justicar... he mentionedededs folks down here ain'ts used ta lights. So dose cones is a GREAT idears... abouts makings dese gems perminents...

Telli thinks tapping on her lip...

"Dat prolly a bad idears.... We'd need ta cover da cones whens we wanted da plants ta rests... cause too much lights is as bads as no lights. We can juss haves dese gems glow a good eights hours or so's... Heck Telli'd do its ifs Chauntea givedededs her grace backs ta her. Would only takes a blessings in da mornings and a blessings in da afternoons. Dat'd gets us arounds eights hours.

Telli's gonna go talks wid Mr Lucy... he mights knows a moonlights spells Mis-... Justicar saids... Why don'tcha gets workings on makings dose cones tings.... We'll juss do its over da tests boxes fer nows...till we cans figure outs whats da best way ta lights dese lil fellers ands whats least likelies ta hurts da Oscuran fellers eyes.

I'll go talks wid me friend Mr Benji...he coulds prolly helps wid da mirrors parts... and I'll go talkedededs wids Mr Lucy abouts dat moonlights spell."

Telli waddles off happy at their progress before turning around halfway down the road

"Oh yuh....have da farmers plants da same plants in da sames spots in each a da testings boxes… I wants Lettuce, Raddishes, potatoes, tomatoes, ands somes mushrooms in ems fer nows…

  • The Halfling Defence League

The purple haired woman comes up with a suggestion on afternoon of the last day of the week end

bit of a what could be considered a insane idea, it shouldn't be to hard to have an object enchanted with the daylight spell, then permanency so it don't go out, and set it in the ceiling. That would light up this place, which might get you lynched. However if you where too say… put a metal cone around it focusing it on the fields or one per-field, factoring cost. The inside of the cone should be polished up to be almost mirror like, to reflect more light in the right direction. Plants do need their light after all.

    what do you think Madam?

  • Telli gladly takes the purple haired womans help as she finishes sketching a map and sets it atop the altar to Chauntea. Telli enlists the womans help in making a flatbed to section off some of the farm for experimentation. The two work diligently through the weekend as they await the workers return hopefully refreshed and full of vigor. Once they arrive its back to business… with the dirt hauled it needed to be tilled and worked over for ample use.

  • The Halfling Defence League

    @967588e949=Tigrelily:

Though the workers spend the weekend resting Telli seen still toiling in the farm for the duration of the weekend calculating and making notes on a map.*

During this time a purpled haired woman politely offers Telli any assistance.

  • Telli blinks seeing Mord, nods and goes about her business not lingering on her thoughts for too long. Rumors speculate to how long "George the Rothe" will last with the rate in which he's being worked. With a full weeks worth of dirt hauling. dumping and spreading the workers task is only a portion complete. Telli asks the workers to take the weekend off to enjoy their loved ones so they might come back at the beginning of the week rejuvenated and refreshed. Though the workers spend the weekend resting Telli seen still toiling in the farm for the duration of the weekend calculating and making notes on a map.

  • As Justicar moves though the area Telli may recognize Mord at his side, now and then. Mord says little but nods politely at Telli when he catches her eye.

  • Telli seems too busy to bother with those who gawk and stare at her attempts to improve Oscura's food outsource. Each day Telli pushes herself and those working under her to fill rows of dirt deep enough to support root growth. Breaks are taken to rehydrate and regain strength. Nights are spent sleeping in the mithral mug until morning where she continues to push herself and the group gathered focusing on working together to bare through the tasks before them.

  • Peacekeeper or not, Allanon does not seem to let that hinder his retort.

<infernal>Don't lecture me woman. I've been bound to the oath and with this cities' people since before they, or you for that matter, called this cave home. I'll speak what I wish.</infernal>

With that Allanon swiftly turns and steadily strides away, his dark robes flowing as glints of green occasionally shine catching the light of a torch. He fades into the shadows, no doubt returning to the temple or some other dim lit haunt.

  • The Halfling Defence League

A strange skeletal woman emerges from the shadows and moves up to stand next to Allanon. She seems slightly pleased for some reason, she whispers to him.

<infernal>I am in slighty agreement with you, but you had best watch what you say about our town. After all appearances can be deceiving…</infernal>

The woman takes a step back into the shadows and becomes invisible once more, as she turns and fades she appears to be dressed as a Peacekeeper…

  • Allanon, lurking about in his usual flowing robes of ebony and green, can be seen nearby cross-armed in his ever foreboding cowled presence. Those that stray close enough may overhear, but possibly not understand his mutterings.

<infernal>First this Justicar's speeches of unity and hope…
Now this dwarf erecting some misplaced monument...

    Oscura has gone soft.</infernal>

  • Well into the evening and into the next day Telli slowly puts together a monument to Chauntea. A few tinks of a chisel can be heard rhytmically echoing throughout Oscura as Chauntea's symbol is etched into the course stone. Telli stands back admiring the monument before pulling a thick candle from her pack and dumping grain into a pile onto the altar. Plucking some rose petals she scatters them across the altar whispering.

"Chauntea bless Oscura… makes der actions pure....der thoughts true...and der motives honorables. If and only if dey do all dese tings BLESS and honors dis plantings in yer glory. May yuhs boon feed da multitu….multitu....da people."

As Telli stands there admiring the monument a rothe named George is delivered with plow and harness moments later.

    "Oi… whats dis fer..."

"Ta give yuh a hand miss Telli…enjoy."

The messanger wanders off as Telli adjusts the harness and aligns the plow smiling. Once its snug and in place she turns to the other farmers smiling.

"Mr Justicar… and Miss Senria saids yuhs folks is used ta livings off mushrooms and fungus... dose tings is okee....even yummies wid da rights foods... buh fellers... we can grows so much mores down here... all we needs is somes wata, lights and dirts. We gots da water parts coveredededs... and da dirt part'll takes somes hard work buh can be done. And da light...wulps... dats where our faith'll comes ins... Until Chauntea givedededs Telli here blessings back...we gonna need ta be faithful and be rudy fer someting greats ta happens."

For the following days to come, Telli helps direct, haul bags of dirt and get the farming area around Oscura ready for crops they've yet to see grow down there in some time.

  • * Upon captain Senria's request, a deep rothe, harness and plow equipment is lent to Telli to aid in her progress of farming.*

  • Meanwhile, a peg-legged dwarf, who is clearly drunk as the proverbial skunk, leers inhospitably at Telli, spits a wholesome gobbet of phlegm on the dirt and wobbles off on her bandy sailor's legs to find more rum, wi' a wanion.

  • The captain of the PeaceKeepers makes an appearance, speaking amicably with Telli as one would an old friend. She thanks her for her work before heading to continue her duties.
