Whispers at the Fire

  • the next day, townsfolk at the boarshead receive a pleasant surprise: a free slab of meat in a trencher and an ale from barlie "complements of the chancellor and those half naked guys with spears".

(( I'll burn some gold for the ale when I'm ig next ))

  • Rumors spread that the strange Chessentan Spearmen recently arrived in Norwick caring a great number of full medium and large sized animal skins, perhaps two dozen, and over twenty pounds of cook and dried meat. They delivered the load to the town hall, letting Lucidious's assistant within know that they are gifts to Norwick.

  • rumors continue to fly about calendel the norwick town healer, the latest being that the senators of peltarch thought it best to have him put to death at the hands of lizardfolk for breaking their treaty.

  • rumors spreads that Calendel the healer in Norwick was arrest in Peltarch for trying to break the treaty with the lizzards. No one is sure if the treaty still stands, but it seems Calendel is in jail for the time being.

  • The Keeper can be seen about town looking for people who witnessed the events, and asking what kinds of tasks the woman in white wanted done.

  • Kalith is heard chuckling on hearing the recent rumor (after some grapevining and translating to common).

"I guess no one was paying attention when Rando had me out there doing 'extra character building' push ups in the mud."

  • Ginger Tealeaf is heard muttering in hin that former chancellor Rando would be rolling over in his grave if he knew the new Norwick militia recruit Kalith was a Banite.

  • A young adventurer was seen running in through the gates bleeding heavily, in tow was a small saurial, a woman wreathed in white robes and cloak appeared suddenly in time to fire a spell at the lizards immobilizing it, the man then turned and attacked the defenceless cub, the guards in turn turned and attacked the woman and the man, one strike against the woman was made and the guard was thrown several feet back by disharged magical energies from the woman, the man was nearly killed by the guards attacks, all the guards ceased their fire when they saw the pale faced woman realising who she was, no further action was taken, and the man was healed before his wounds became mortal, the woman was in town for some time later hiring adventurers to perform various tasks.

  • Tales of a Deep Gnome mage assaulting the town and destroying the gate are told. It was said that three of the strange Chessentan's took it upon themselves to form a shield wall in the opening of the inner branch wall. When a goblin and bugbear attack occured slightly later, perhaps taking a chance at the open gate, many defenders struck at them as they charged and no goblin nor bugbear made it past the shield wall.

  • ((

the happenings in the graveyard were split off to this thread: http://www.therealnarfell.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=35811

    ))

  • Even Dwin seems to be taking some interest in the garden…

Lass, got any room in there to grow some mushrooms? The ones Misty's got at the Boarshead still got shiite all over em, and taste worse. I'd be happy to get you some spores...

  • Seeing Lillie work hard on her garden, Wolf wanders over and asks if she wants any help. He'd be happy to do so anyway he can.

  • Recently, Lillie has been seen sitting in her herb garden beside Friar Fred's house. She wears a set of old clothes and looks to be mostly covered in dirt, but no one has noticed her working of late. Instead, she sits amid the mounds of soil reading very slowly and laboriously from a book in her lap. How long she has been in that spot is anyone's guess, as it's been a few days since any of the patrolling guards have seen her doing anything else.

  • _Construction and excavation continue on Piss Hill, and the beginnings of several barriers and towers are now apparent. The Commander of the Southern Nars Militia stops by regularly to check in with the foreman on his work.

On a few occassions, they tour the entire town and point at certain walls or gates around the southern side of town, or near the cemetery._

  • When the chancellor does his rounds for the day, he often passes the "herb garden" quietly watching and giving a nod of approval to any who happen to be helping.

  • While taking breaks from mixing healing balms, Calendel steps out from the Friars, puts on some leather gloves and leans in to assist Lillie with digging holes chatting to her about her training, events at the Friars and the Boardshead and other general life discussions around Norwick and it's people.

Calendel is also sure to mention to Lillie that he would love to see some healing herbs mixed in to the garden to help with his potion and balm creation.

  • Militiaman Kalith is seen stopping and watching Lillie for several minutes before approaching her. Seems he is inquiring what herbs she plans to be growing and if she could grow a few specific ones for Kalith.

  • When not receiving self-defense instruction from Keira or when not working a shift at the Boarshead, Lillie can be seen digging in the dirt alongside Friar Fred's with her bare hands, making small, shallow holes in neatly organized rows. When asked what she was doing, she replies with a childlike excitedness that the Chancellor had given her permission to start an herb garden.

  • Keira is seen more often around Norwick, occasionally helping out with repelling goblins, scouting bugbears or instructing Lillie in various unarmed combat techniques. She's definitely seems a much happier person, most of the time.

  • _After the recent fight night a new sun roof was blown open in the Great Hall, thanks to a certain druid's lightning during the fights. It seems the Circle received a hefty bill for the damange…

...instead of paying the bill, the druid Wolf is seen flying to the top of the roof, as a bird, using his powers to shape the holes shut. It seems he used the same rubble from the roof to seal it back up again. He doesn't seem at all bothered by it. For a few days, humming can be heard from the top of the Great Hall's roof._
