Whispers at the Fire

  • As word spreads of the battle, Dentin makes his way to Norwick and heads into the Rawlinswood, to salvage any warmachine parts from the battle.

  • _Rumours fly around Norwick about a war machine patrolling the southwest Rawlinswood. Apparently, the druid Wolf bravely faced the war machine in melee combat, calling the wrath of the nature gods down upon it. Poison gas shot from the war machine's mouth, while the druid invoked a storm of fire and lightning around the machine. When the dust and smoke settled, both lay dead.

The brave druid's body was returned to Norwick by a party of union crafters and chancellor Lucidious. Tristina returned Wolf to life, and just in time, as a battle raged at the south gates between the bugbears and the defending force made up largely of union crafters. Despite the gong being rung, only two Norwick militiamen defended against the attack, while most stood stock still at the north gate or near the town hall. Eventually, the foes were all killed or beaten back, and the war drums ceased._

  • Any of the folks that lingered after the fights finally saw Milshot, Dwin and Lucid emerge from the barracks and walk towards the Friars. All had smiles on their faces and seemed friendly towards each other.

  • _Word spreads of another successful Fight Night in Norwick, the competitions this time being archery and a 2-on-2 anything-goes fight. The final three in the archery competition were Ginger, Wolf, and Hawk, with Ginger placing first after a bulls-eye, followed by Wolf, and then Hawk. The anything-goes matches culminated with a magic-filled exhibition between the teams of Abner and Genzir versus Raryldor and Aelthas. When the dust (and Words of Faith) settled, Raryldor was the last man standing, winning the crown for his team.

Rumors loosely tied to the barmaid, Penny, also circulate about an extra match that occurred when former Chancellor Milshot burst into the town hall and ordered Chancellor Lucidious to stand against him in a fight which, based on Milshot's angry tone, was surely infused with some bad blood. After defeating the Chancellor, Milshot demanded an audience and was escorted into the militia barracks by Dwin and Lucidious._

  • A Brash and vulgar Dwarf going by the name of Gloinus Hammerstriker has been seen speaking to the Guards of Norwick inquiring about joining the militia, when asked for his reasons he states he wants to crush some skulls

If its possible can someone PM me if its possible to join?

  • The old posters on the inner wall are renewed, advertisting the Midsummer Festival in fresh glory.

((The event's today… and uh... for those who didn't get it... you can click on the colored Midsummer Festival to see the poster 😉 ))

  • @a4055ed333=takingforever:

Some people mention hearing about a small group of people consisting of two hins, two bards, and a lady ranger successfully fighting off an army of hobs on Sam's hill. they fought off the hobs and it's said that only one person got seriously hurt, but with the help of the bards she managed and they all walked off contently.

When Jerr hears the rumor it takes a long walk for him to calm down enough to NOT snap at anyone who passes his way. Muttering something about "bard" and "skald" he takes a lot of energy out on some unfortunate Hobgoblins who do not stand a chance against a skald in full rage

  • The Sheverashan comments to his oversized and obnoxious friend…

Think he managed to pick a fight and win?

  • _A dead-on-his-feet lucidious was seen limping into the boarshead covered in bandages, his robes slashed here and there by a thin blade. Leaning over the bar, he hooked two bottles of wine between his fingers, slung them over his shoulder then limped his way out, leaving a small pile of gold on the counter for the barkeep.

Despite the shape he was in, Lucidious was smiling and seemed genuinely happy._

  • With all the talk of drow Juster is seen gritting his teeth and frowning before walking off mumbling to himself. He might have been talking about his ear, but hey, who knows?

  • ((I wasn't talking to anyone in particular.. Moreso everyone who has been posting fact-based, play-by-play accounts of things. Anyways, that's the last bit of OOCness I'm going to post here.))

  • ((I was actually talking about DrSuess (DM Ugly) his "Dark Wanderer" NPC, don't know SD_LUVE's.

And yes, I do feel I have a need to correct this, because I asked OOC if it was a Drow and he told me no , and my character should not respond to it as such (reason I did is because my Sheverashan would've charged it blindly otherwise), therefore, I have a feeling neither should Summoner's.

Also, this was a respond to Summoner, and not you, chripso.))

  • ((But, there are a number of rumors that the 'Dark One' NPC played by SD_LUVE is a drow, so best not to say OOC that anything is or isn't so in a rumor forum 🙂 ))

Keira expresses concern to Aelhaearn and other members of Norwick's military that defence of the gate is commanded better in future. Too many milling around under attack from bugbear archers. No point having defences if they're not used.

// Great attacks last night by May and Baboo (I think). Would be great if there was some way to have lower levels defending one front against shorties/soldiers while the other gets hassle from grenadiers/elites.

  • ((Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this a rumors thread, and as such, should not be used to correct other people's "rumors?"))

  • ((If you are talking about the "Dark Wanderer" NPC, it is not a Drow.))

  • Piles of saurial weaponry and gear are occassionally left by the south gate.

  • Several tavern patrons excitedly talk about a duel that occured outside of the town gates. From how they tell it a knight wearing red armor and bearing a severely scarred face and a massive half-orc, easily as large as an ogre, challenged each other over a noblewoman of surpassing beauty. A goodly portion of these so-called witnesses claim that the knight was struck hard early by the half-orc, nearly falling under the weight of each blow, but that this was merely a tactic to wear the muscled man down. After three solid hits to his shield, the knight fell into a pattern and dodged the great strokes expertly, eventually tiring the giant and knocking him out after some minutes. The knight and the lady travelled north, they say, and romantics would try to tell it that they went arm in arm… but who can truly sort the fact from fiction of tavern gossip?

  • Word spreads that an Oscuran named Corde is seeking "Blackened Mushrooms" and will pay a small sum for any that are found. It is said that word should be sent to him in the city if the trade is meant to be done outside of Oscura, or a seller can simply find him in the city if there is fine.

  • @320a875320=chripso:

Rumor has it Wolf is a drow.

_Some might notice Wolf does not have black skin and white hair. And does not resemble any type of elf.

About the meeting with Edward, as Kull mentioned, Wolf goes with curiosity. Hoping to get some answers about why a drow help put out a forest fire… and about the mark..._

((It wasnt a drow? Eh.. well, the dark wanderer was concealed and looked like a drow, so I guess Wolf could make that mistake.))
