Whispers at the Fire
-
Word spreads that the current Scout Commander received a letter from home and subsequently left the land less than a day later. She leaves words with the guards about a "loss in my family" and appears to wear a quite grave expression. However, she might be overheard assuring Davos she would return once matters were seen to.

Junior spreads word that this 'Val' does not, in fact, have a donkey face like she originally predicted.

_Those who passed by the south valley of Norwick a day or two ago noticed a small gathering near the communal fire.
Several elves sat about talking, most familiar faces, Raryldor, Ardent, Imril, Nelor. However there was one stranger in their midst, a dark haired elven lady called by the others "Val".
Astute observers would notice that Nelor seemed both happy and on edge at times through out the gathering, Ardent also seemed somewhat nervous. Those with good hearing might have caught the title of "My Sister" being given by Nelor to Val._

Many days after the undead attack Quin is seen leaving the Apothecary using a cane to walk over to the Union hall. He pulls out a ring of keys and shakily finds the right one, opening the Union Hall door and entering. The door shuts behind him and a steady solid wooden thump is heard leading further into the building.

…And Jester makes three...
-
Adventurers return from a trip to the small crypt and head for the Temple of Chauntea. Junior and Dermin return lifeless. They met a quick and brutal end at the edge of Fendon's blade.
Word is spread that Fendon claims to be nearly finished with some kind of ritual. Junior is quiet on the subject, instead training and preparing for whatever is coming next.

The undead attacks come in brutal and relentless waves, full of all the horrors of the night; shambling mummies, countless zombies and skeletal foes, wraiths and spectres, shadows and mist, vampires, undead harpies and animals great and small. A major assault from the south and the north at once had the defence reeling, though never breaking, and with the defeat of a dark dragon, the dust seemed to settle. But not for long. The undead forces attack by day and by night, pushing even the most skilled defenders to the limits.

A deep mist covers the valley, and out of it shambling horrors once again assail the gates. However, those who defended the gates spread a dark rumor. According to them, one claiming to speak for the undead stepped forward during the dawn hours bearing an ominous promise:
In one tenday Norwick will be made to bend the knee.

_Cray donned in his Peacekeeper garb and was in Norwick recently on Official business at the Great Hall.
Afterwards he went to the Inn and sat at the bar. Making it known that he seeks leaders of the PFLN for interview, and that he has no intentions of arresting any of the PFLN membership at this time, as he currently has no evidence against them. He made it sound as though, the worst thing the PFLN could do right now is decline his request for a parlay on neutral ground, as that declining may draw undue suspicion._

Mean while, Boldbar, when not attending to any new duties as a recruit, has been asking about for Belia or another member of the Circle, about possibly using their command of the elements to easy the digging needed to free the entrance of the Hold.

Shortly after the first attack came along, just as if not more fierce than the first. A smaller group of defenders managed to hold throughout the night and day but many Raumviri fell and the defenders were pushed to the top of the hill before they eventually retook the south gate.
-
_After word of bugbears in the pass, the adventurers who had returned to Norwick quickly turned and headed north to deal with the threat.
Shortly thereafter, they returned to Norwick and rushed to the South Gate, word of an undead attack proving correct. They held the gate throughout the night, eventually felling a beast as big as a mountain and keeping the town secure for another night._

Danika, Ardent, and Hope are seen carrying large sacks of bolts, arrows, and bullets on their backs as they approach to stock the Adventure Mart with ammunition, given a dearth of it in the town.

_Anyone nearish to Norwick can hear strange noises one night.
It seems to be hobgoblins, singing and cheering. The name "Vert" is constantly heard and cheered, whilst those with some recognition of goblinoid hear many mentions of "dumb humans" and "clever hobgoblins"._

Elf and Militiaman Havon is now infrequently seen without his young daughter at his side since the recent troubles with Silver Valley. Where he goes, she follows, and he seems to be extra wary, typically keeping the little girl in between his great shield and himself wherever they go.
