Whispers at the Fire

((Yes.))

((Does she offer any to Benji?))

For what ever reason of late, Albry has actually been amiable. Offering most people smiles with a greeting, she is seen engaging in pleasant conversations (often using girlie words such as "dear", "darling", etc.) instead of giving her usual snarky comments. More likely than not, people are beginning to question her sanity. Whatever could have come over the short-tempered warrior? Mid-life crisis?

_A badly bleeding, nearly-dead lumberjack is hurried to the Temple of Chauntea, arrows sticking from his chest.
His friends say that he was attacked by the crazed hin woodswalker, who when vanished back into the Rawlins._
-
Hess Arksaniss, apprentice to the Circle of Quercatha Terr, has been seen hauling deadwood logs around the Northern Ralwins, and spending long hours alone seemingly talking to, and in possibly even healing (with the Oak Father's guidance, of course) some trees that had been long ago tainted by the filth of the Rawlins.
When it appears that some of the trees are too far gone to be saved, he dutifully brings them down and places the resulting branches and debris in appropriate places to spawn forest-floor life and other fauna.

"If Norwick decides it wants nothing to do with Oscura, that's its decision. Like it or not, while Oscura lets slavers and undead wander around and has a temple of Bane and Shar, most people won't trust anything coming out of that city. If you don't want to be associated with those things, move out and live somewhere else."
-
Zarius just chuckles My own magic has done its share of saving people as well, including fending off attacks at these very gates. Ask around a bit before you toss around accusations of uselessness. As for the senator, I wasn't whining, just stating simple fact! But anyway as amusing as all this has been, i'm off to clear my name! Walks off into the western woods…
-
"To avoid such petty arguements? This gets us nowhere. Not absolutly everyone in Oscura is the same as a high priest of Bane or the slave traders.
Zarius for example. He has done no wrong and even defends Norwick.
It is wrong and quite unlawful to ban someone for town for nothing but mere suspecion. He was not asked if he owned slaves under a truth spell? If one has nothing to hide why would one refuse such testing? It is merely constructive criticism so those who ahev done no wrong do not suffer injustice"

::Rith seems to have been holding herself from stepping in, but finally can't withstand it anymore::
You would speak of tolerance, coming from a place where human beings aren't tolerated to even own their life.
You surely can not be that naive. Of course you aren't. You know perfectly that for a priest of Shar or Bane to keep favour of their gods, they need to actively execute their dogmas.
@1b3c2dc69f:
Serve no one but Bane. Fear him always and make others fear him even more than you do. The Black Hand always strikes down those who stand against it in the end. Defy Bane and die - or in death find loyalty to him, for he shall compel it. Submit to the word of Bane as uttered by his ranking clergy, since true power can only be gained through service to him. Spread the dark fear of Bane. It is the doom of those who do not follow him to let power slip through their hands. Those who cross the Black Hand meet their dooms earlier and more harshly than those who worship other deities.
Come again with lectures of tolerance.
You say: "Norwick needs to be careful making accusations like this".
I say to you: "Or what?"
-
Vladimir steps into the light from wherever this conversation is happening
"Les not resort to petty insults. Oscura is not full of slavers, banites sharrens. It accepts those, yes, and does not judge on ones belifs. Something that is hard for many surfacers to udnerstand such a tolerence.
Yet perhaps Norwick needs to actully look into things before just deciding on a judgement. Innocent to proven guilty. I dare say Norwick is currently investgating myself, in fact, id be surprised if they wern't with my links and family in Oscura. Yet i own no slaves personally. I do not worship the gods that the surfacers frown upon.
And i know for a fact, Zarius owns no slaves or worships "dark" deities.
Norwick needs to be careful making false accusations like this. Not decide on whim and make false assumptions."

_"Just hard to trust something that prefers the damp darkness of caves to the feel of the sun, wind and snow. Goblins, kobolds, orcs, drow, kuatoa.. Besides, people in Oscura generally live there because they have something to hide. And then there's the whole Banite-Sharan thing down there. Your business where you want to live, but don't complain when you get treated as a suspected Banite-Sharran cave dweller.
See, if you have such a problem with Ronan, why don't you challenge him directly instead of standing here whining about it. Even if he goes around in a dress and likes apples -way- too much… he's still a damned useful one to have around. I probably wouldn't be here now, nor would a lot of other people, if he doesn't stop grooming himself now and then to throw some fireballs and mage-whatsit around.
So shut the fark up, and prove you can do better."_

smirks at hammer's comment "No it isnt just a cave thing. If i were to prance out of a cave covered in treebark and dry hump a few trees I would be welcomed in Norwick with open arms. At least in the cave i call a home i don't get accosted, falsely accused, and shown the door. All likely on the words of a certain aging former pretty boy whose sure of my foul nature only because his ego can't stand the fact that someone had the sheer effrontry to be better looking than him. The Peltarchians made this man a senator, proving that a number of them are stark raving mad. Yet these poor deranged souls, who are obviously a major danger to themselves and others as proven by the way they vote in their elections, are allowed to come and go in Norwick at will. Crazy world no? chuckles to himself

Maero has somthing to say about this as usual
"Woah, woah, woah! Not everyone who lives in Oscura is a slave driver! I'm not a slave driver, Zarius sure isn't. This is pure ponyshite."
-
"Well.. that's what you get for living in a cave."
-
Handsome sorcerer Zarius Caine, a frequent sight in Norwick, is seen being escorted out the north gates, being banned from town on charges of being a slave trader and/or driver. People noticing who didnt know him at all were heard to remark how "Of course he was up to no good. Anyone who wears that much black can't be trusted" while those he has been seen to associate with remark upon the "Ridiculousness" _of these charges.
He seemed to take it all in stride, even jesting with the guards as he was leaving about_ "rounding up all his slaves and leaving then…oh wait there aren't any...imagine that" and how he "must be the most unsuccessfull slaver in all of history" as he has "yet to make a single coin on these ventures"
However he does remark to any passersby and people lingering around norwick's south gates (which he came to by a route around the town proper) about how this law banning so called "slavers" from town is a thinly veiled excuse to ban all residents of Oscura from Norwick, as some of the names on their little list are residents. He also mentions he suspects Peltarch is involved as well, particularly a certain senator, and he expects Peltarch to enact a similar "law" soon, to ban people with no proof at all of any so called "slavery"

_Oddly, following them proves almost impossible once they hit the treeline.
Almost like they were a druid or something._
-
One of these foresters… follows the hin, which should be pretty easy what with the shrieking and crying the hin seems to be doing.
-
Foresters in the Rawlins somewhat confusedly report a hin clad in what looks like the remains of a Legion uniform jumping out of the bushes, menacing them with a sickle, and demanding they denounce 'Eluriel the Traitor'. After giving her confused responses of bafflement, they say she screamed, slashed berserkly at them, and then fled into the woods weeping and shrieking.

Stubs can be seen wandering past muttering things about Devlin lettin ol' Thundy win, either that or about him being a pansy. Either way, Stubs has likely been drinking again on one of his famous dwarven drinking rampages.

_Spectators witnessed a friendly bout between the Lady of Norwick, Albryanna, and the furry of Tempus, Devlin. Bets were placed, Albry the favoured of the duelists. Looking grim at start for the Lady, she made a powerful comeback and fell the great Temposian.
Smiles were exchanged, as well as an embrace of arms. Are the once couple rekindling their flames of passion? Or was it merely a friendly gesture to congratulate each other on a duel well fought?_
