Campaign Activities
Speaking Engagement/Letter Writing - 200 gold per letter (addresses a particular group)
-Message conveyed to particular group, with an average of 25% of the group receiving it in some form.Engagement (gala or party; invitation only event aimed at a specific group) is 5,000 gold
-Affects a specific group, obviously; may conversely affect competing groups. 75% of the group is like to receive the campaign message via this method.Written Fliers/Signs - 100 gold (per block canvassed)
-Effectiveness will vary depending on district and typical literacy level of residents, as well as amount spent.Rally (in a particular district) - 10,000 gold
-Affects on a district wide basis.General Speech - 500gp
-The money ensures a crowd gathers, but not that it will be a big enough affair to be talked about much across the district (like a rally is). effectiveness is therefore small enough, but at least it breaks the literacy barrier. 3-6% of a district may receive the message to varying degrees this way.**For other campaign activities candidates may PM me and I will inform them of costs. The above methods are related to getting your campaign messages HEARD, whether they are well received or not depends on what the NPCs concerned actually think of it once they've heard it.
For campaign activities you undertake in your threads, make sure you can afford them, and I'll be taking the gold off of you ingame whenever I catch you.**

One more N.B.
Since I've noticed alot of candidates are making "speeches", which aren't rallies and don't really fit into any of the other catagories, I've added "General Speech" to the list of campaign activities. It reflects the cost of promoting your speeches enough that people know who the hells you are, that you're speaking for a reason, and gives them some encouragement to actually listen to you.
I can charge retroactively for speeches already given, and you can assume if you aren't paying to promote speeches you are giving, people won't bother listening as they don't know who you are/why they should care and have other things to to. Promotion money means they'll know in advance of you getting up on a barrel, and will actually make the time to listen/attend etc.
Again, please make it clear in your posts if something is a Speech, so I both know to factor in NPCs being affected by it, as well as costs for your campaign.

Also N.B.
To the best of our abilities, we will be attempting to conduct meetings with groups such as Guilds, Defender reps etc. ingame! So if you want to meet with them send me a PM and I'll get back to you (and if our timezones are too different, my better half Zyphlin'll probably be able to sort you out).
Additionally, with regard to your campaign threads, if you're intending on a particular post being a Rally, engagement etc. try to make sure you make it clear in the post so I know, both from the point of charging you for it and for the point of making a note that npcs X have heard what you've said and may want to respond/vote for you. Thanks!

It might also be handy for current candidates to see some of the successful campaigns in previous elections, so to save you some searching here are three of them;

N.B.
If players want to find out any more specific details about any aspect of the City (details of specific guilds etc.) feel free to PM me with the question, and what if anything your PC is doing to find out (could be checking things at city hall, asking around in a tavern etc.).

Basic Campaigner Information
The following is a brief bit on each district and its inhabitants which, since it is common knowledge your PCs either would already know or would easily be able to find out;
Commerce District
This district is the home of well to do merchants, retired adventurers, guards, defenders and their families. It is also the main district for the city's governing since the new City Hall was built. Various lower guilds are located in this district, such as the Shoemakers Guild, Porters Union, Harvest Union, Bakers Union and the Stonemasons Guild. The newly arrived Orcs to the west are a concern for the District's residents as the western gates and walls are not as reinforced as they were before the war (as supplies for reconsrtuction were scare) and the outer walls and western watchtower were never rebuilt.
Residential District
This district is home to the noble families of Peltarch, their attendants and the Temple of Tyr (which is the largest temple in the city, with the largest congregation of various worshippers of the three deities of the Triad). It is here in this district the influential and wealthy houses such as the Ashalds, Brynmors, Snydders or Daeladus reside (among other lesser families).
Docks District
The docks are the lifeblood of the city, they hold the vast majority of the populace and from dawn to dusk are a seething morass of traders, labourers and sailors all seeking to make their living. But it is not only a place for the poor to eke out enough gold to put food on their family's tables, it is also the place for the City's major Guilds to line their coffers with profits. The Seafarers Guild and the Wavebreakers Guild, the city's two largest are both based here, in seemingly eternal competition with each other. Aside from them, many of the rest of the city's Lower Guilds are here, most of which have similarily taken sides in the unceasing mercantile conflict between the Wavebreakers and Seafarers.
