::New rumours heard in the Mermaid::

  • Rumours spread that the allegations of abuse of power levied against Lieutenant Eowiel Senella have been formally thrown out by her commander…while the elf in question drives her campaign on without missing a step...

  • At long last, the odd little elf Ting is seen free in the city again. She has immediately taken up residence around the sundial, started making jokes in good-humor, and sneaks up on people at random.

She was seen inspecting and poking fun at an elven man who was shouting political poetry about those running for senate. She seemed good natured at first, but when he started talk of Eowiel negatively she got rather irritated with him and left.

She later made it known in the mermaid that she is deeply annoyed that "newcomers" to the city so blatantly slander those that should be considered heroes despite their shortfallings.

  • Peltarch Far Scouts

A self-pronounced mercenary named Evia inquires the bartenders at the Lucky Ferret and Pissing Goat about the murder of Captain Reshor, seemingly interested in who might of commited the crime. She tips each thirty gold for their hospitality, whether they provide any leads.

  • Aarron can be seen shaing his head slightly at the order to expell Nyda and wanders off to talk with Daisy and General Lavindo, staying silent on the matter.

  • Miss Daisy has already pronounced Nyda free of all taint of the plague, and to imply that Nyda in any way endangered anyone, when brought to the city unconscious and no not compliant with the move can only be an attempt to divert attention from the Senator's own odd slanders.

  • Roland asks one of his defender guards (it seems he has a few these days) to immediately remove the woman Nyda from the city on pain of death if she refuses to comply. General Lavindo has ordered her expulsion by any means until such time as the Cerulean Knights or the temple report she is free of the deadly dreamspawn plague. Her callous disregard for the safety of the people should not be tolerated.

((this post assumes Nyda is in the actual city where she is speaking, and not shouting to me from across the pass 😉))

  • Nyda gently reminds Roland that there is no law against the practice of necromancy outside the City jurisdiction and that it can hardly be Chaevre's fault if bads grain killed people sixty years ago. As for the Seafarer's involvement, since there is no reason not to sell to Chaevre under Peltarch law why should it matter.

  • Roland is quick to point out that the woman Chaevre is a known necromancer who has admitted to raising the dead and performing experiments on them. He notes that it was only 60 years ago that nearly the entire city was wiped out due to a plague spread by bad grain.

He also questions the judgment of the Seafarers for selling her the food licenses in the first place.

  • Purple robes swirl when word spreads among the shiftier folk of the city that the Captain of the Ceruleans has been presented by one of his young knights with a trinket of power. Given the Captain's unhidden if not outspoken devotion to the Lady of Mysteries many wonder what power could be locked inside…

  • A large barbarian named Peter Stokabo has been seen earnestly spreading the word about a line of pastries called "Gonmish Wonderproducts." To hear him tell it, these delicious pastries and baked goods are like eating a small slice of heaven.

His endorsements are loud, numerous, and heartfelt… but not terribly persuasive.

  • Belade walked into with a male human not long ago, followed by a female elf bard. She tells about how she escorted the man north towards Peltarch, after she saw him being attacked by bandits. While they were heading around the bridge, they were attacked by one of the Flameshots. After a long chase, they managed to bring her down. However, what she finds the most intruiging, is that one of the priests they brought down shouted Bane's name, and some other things that she couldn't hear over the din of battle. Having killed the bandit, she tried to search him for symbols, but they were interrupted by another wave of attack, which forced them to fall back. If the bandit priest was truely a Banite, this may cause a lot of trouble.

  • Rumor is circulating that Senate candidate Mog is inquiring about purchasing the food licenses.

  • Council of Moradin

Rumor has it an assassin attcked a man in the commons and Captain Galuisen took her down. A Banite in black and green armor tried to help the assassin and was chased out of the city.

  • Council of Moradin

An official investigation has been ordered by the senate due to allegations that Lieutenant Eoweil of the Curelean Knight has abused her power. A military trial is ordered and evidence sent to General Lavindo's office.

It is also rumored that a woman named Chaevre who works for a group called the Consortium had purchased a large group of food merchant licenses and was pushing the price of food down. In the recent senate meeting, Senator Roland Brynmore introduced legislation to have those licenses removed from her. Looks like food prices are going back up.

  • Reports of a considerably strong Eastlander force attacking the southern guard tower pour into the city. Apparently some Defenders lost their lives and the tower might have been lost without the help of a handful of citizens of Peltarch proudly protecting their city and assisting in the defense. According to the rumours at least one of the civilian heroes was struck down but later revived.

  • rumors spread about increased tension with the knights and the banites…

  • Rumors of Sir Richard Luis Kindess spread thru out peltarch. A farmer aprouches him and tells him that vast number of felines have been seen near his land. Sir Richard gives him his word that he will look in to it. Tells Richard he is thank full and offers to pay him by giving him a cow. Sir Richard thanks him for the offer but says it is not nessary, Sir shannon with proof of the dire Tiger by riping a very large fang from the carcus. reports the incident.

  • Amy has been seen now openly going around the city trying to actively recruit students for arcane or martial training.

  • Other random commoners (Oh yes, I have my random commoners too to spread rumours!, mwahahaha) would speculate on this being related to the knight Mecziq throwing Mirkali in jail quite publicly, being a possible bardic conspiracy! Most dimiss this though… but while the topic is brought up, some random commoners talk about Mirkali, who has yet to have a trial, yet to be visited by any magistrate, yet to be officialy presented any evidence, and has been such and sitting in jail awaiting trial for 3 1/2 months now, or so has been rumoured. Some people begin to question the remaining Magistrate's effectiveness in handling the law, and often mention some penchent of him sitting on his bum and eating crumpets and sipping tea...

  • Chaevre' has not been seen very much in the city of late, when she is t seems she seeks out a person or person to speak with on some issue or another, and then leaves, if approached she will usually entertain a question or two before walking off
