::New rumours heard in the Mermaid::

  • _In the wake of last month's infernal fiasco surrounding the trial and execution of ex-Senator Syne Bloodmist (a name that apparently came to light during the elf's own testimony,) an increased Defender presence has been seen about the city. Whether these valiant soldiers are capable of combatting the threats facing the Jewel of the Icelace, only time will tell…

On a curiously different note, Peltarch's numerous brothels appear to have suffered an increased Guard presence since Syne's trial. Although this might not be good for business, the guards seem bound and determined to protect the patrons from... something._

  • _*Shorlty after the end of the Cvil War, thousends of workers took up their tools, not only to restore the city to its glory, but alsi to commence construction on the very icelace lake itself.

In the time to come, work was continued almost non stop. Citiezens of Peltarch marvled, as an artificial island, a fortress rose up from the icelace lake.

And now, several years after the end of the destructive Civil War, a mighty fortress stands where it before was open water.

The completion of the Peltarch Defenders Headquarters has come.

In the following days, nummerous defenders are seen in the city, transporting material and other goods to the new fortress using the bridge leading to it from the north of the Civic District, behind the City Hall

Though the fortress is not yet fully operationeble, the General and his staff has already taken positions inside it*_

  • Somewhere near nightfall, Major Lyte of the Legion is seen entering the Peltarch Civic District, with a heavily cloaked and hooded elf behind her, both looking heavily burned, and covered in soot and ash. The elf seemed to be carrying someone in his arms, but was careful to keep his cloak wrapped around them at all times. Both Lyte and the elf were seen to head immediately to the Temple of Tyr, to talk with High Priestess Daisy. After many hours, Lyte and Sy’wyn, easily recognized with his hood now down on his shoulders, are seen to depart the temple and head south, both still looking slightly toasted. Sy’wyn is not seen carrying anyone upon their departure.

  • Sy'wyn and Lyte were seen briefly in the Civic District carrying an unconcious woman to the Temple of Tyr. They left a few hours later, the woman has not been seen since.

  • Zyphlin returns from a short trip to Damara on buisness to hear the news

Oh bloody hell. I was telling them for years that he was with Zargothis and everyone laughed at me. Then i tell them for months now "Don't kill him, it will fulfill what he wants done". So what do they do, kill him. Bloody wonderful…well, no time for playing the blame game i guess, time to finally tie up the loose ends of this whole thing...

  • Word has it that Talgrath plans to hunt down the former senator and end this once and for all.

  • In his cell, the Hoarran knight was seen sitting against the wall, still weraring his large armor, which is embedded with furrs and coupled with a large lined cloak at the back to protect from the recent cold winters, is heard commenting coldly with a frown:

"This is what you get when you do not kill the guilty and the sinfull when you have the chance."

He was then rumored to have smirked comfortably, closed his eyes and relaxed his head against the cell wall as the city allegedly erupted in total chaos.

  • DM

Magistrate Barrim, after the trial and the results of the execution was seen heading away from the devilish assault upon the district of the city frowing at his wounds and burn marks on his armour from the arrows of the devil women. After strapping his wounds and resting for a day he is to be found in the city libraries determined to discover an infallable means of execution for future use for such serious crimes.

He was heard to thank Meril for his explanation on what these women were, after their assault and their subsequent defeat.

"Things from everywhere apart from here seem to be popping up everywhere, Lizard Demons, Devil women, Demons in the gypsy camp. Just who in this region is the expert on these… "outsiders", whoever is we need to find out what should be done about them" - he is heard to mention to various military officers following those days.

  • After Senator Syne's trial, during which he murdered yet another woman in cold blood, the execution should have been a formality. Instead, yet more blood was spilt at the despicable monster's hands as he summoned a legion of undead and demons to cover his escape!

Amidst the cackling and the huge fangs he sprouted, the pale and alluring elf was heard to threaten the innocent maidens of the city with much and excruciating vengeance. Once more this madman, this mad thing is on the loose. No-one is safe.

((Disclaimer:: Wasn't there, none of this may be true, I heard it from a friend who says he saw it all))

  • _A tired and weary traveller carrying a light pack is seen entering through the south gates of Peltarch and into the commons. moving on to retire to the inn for the night, through the dust on his tunic, only one thing is clear…a silver chain with scales set upon a warhammer attached to it and a battered practice mallet hanging from his belt.

The next morning, he is seen descending and returning to the commons, dressed in a simple white tabard bearing the heraldry of the order of the merciful sword and a fresh suit of leather armour underneith. A black gauntlet on his right hand and the same amulet of scales set upon a hammer is clearly visible in the morning sun. Approaching the guard once more, he seeks out directions to the temple of Tyr then departs with a curtious nod.

A candlemark later, he is seen offering morning prayer infront of the shrine of Tyr, intoning a soft verse in the name of the Even handed. After Morning prayers are concluded, he rises and approaches one of the priests waiting until they have a free moment from their duties to introduce himself as a knight aspirant of the merciful sword, dispatched from Arabel by the Chief justice to the temple in Peltarch to continue his training and to offer his service to the temple in a manner befitting Tyr._

  • The half orc named Orc Man, Moe the Orc or just simply known as Moe by others, can be seen often in the lands north west of Peltarch. In the region called Icelace Lake Beach, he is often sighted fighting manticores and polar bears, dragging the bodies furthers west to skin them and feast on their flesh. He is never sighted with in reach of Peltarch's walls but he still manages to make his way to the polar bear lands, he known not to be gifted with magic so he must use some other means. For all his killing of the animals he never wastes anything and never strays in to kobold lands or near enough or look at any other adventurers with hostility

  • Rumor has it that the young paladin Squire Richard Luis has been seen giving large amount of money to the temple to help temple expenses.
He has also been seen with the great wizard Genzir patroling in the foothills or defending jiyyd from Orc attacks.

  • Rumor has it. Cray has been asking around about some drawings he has in his possesion. Aparently the drawings are of very odd markings.

  • EDITED BY LINAH

((Players do not have the right or power to decide the actions and doings of NPC's.))

  • A Tethyrian man has been seen moving about the city talking to various armourers. He was later seen in the Commons laboriously repairing numerous rents in a battered chain shirt occasionally grumbling about "Those thrice-damned Bens…"

  • Those who frequent the Peltarch fighter's academy notice one of the combat dummies has finally broken down from heavy use

  • Rumor also has it that the battered, bleeding (And oddly enough, chuckling) bunch of adventurers were then bandaged later on in the commons, and followed up with a meal at the Mermaid Inn. Many folks claim they spotted the group of four working one various maps, or perhaps documents of some kind while they ate their meal in the private room of the Mermaid Inn. Some say they overheard the dark haired rogue grin to his companions, saying something along the lines of

    "Giving it another try."

  • _A strange sight indeed; at high noon beside the western gates four horribly battered and bloodied individuals were seen beside the fountain. A slightly vexed red-haired lass looked on as her three companions bled merrily. Two of them, a human and a half-elf sat with their backs to the fountain whilst the fourth knelt with his head under the water, burbling quietly.

A little farther west, just inside the outer gates lay a score of kobold corpses._

  • The young paladin Mariston Thel, is seen speaking with the masons, carpenters and others of skilled trade within the city. Work begins west of the city.
Teams of builders clearing and reconstructing the ruined tower that stands upon the western hill. Often seen with the workers Mariston speaks words of encouragement and seeks to aid in guarding and healing the workers. The young knight seeming very happy with the work.
After a time the tower takes shape and its presence can be seen upon the western sky line, its outline silhouetted by the setting sun.
    The work continues..

  • After being missing for nigh on two tendays, Ocean finally emerges from the Bardic College, still looking pale and drawn from whatever it is she has been recovering from. When asked she dismisses the question in a quiet voice and turns back to reading her songbook. She seems to be paying special attention to on of the earlier songs and eventually takes quill and ink and moves to write on the first blank page of the book.

She spends her time for several more days going no further than the benches outside the College. Lilly is constantly in attendance to begin with, bringing beef broth and occassionally more solid food to her.
