::New rumours heard in the Mermaid::

  • Anna Sigerlson can be seen tending to the field hospital and assisting daisy. Periodically she is seen checking in with Commander Lavindo and seeing that his soldiers are fed. Rumor has it, she is about to ready a group of quartermasters to see to the needs of the soldiers.

She is often seen with Mariston Thel, Alice Marrian, and a litte orphan boy named Matee.

  • Gailyn was last seen leaving to patrol the perimeter, but many recall him seeming impatient and wanting to fight. He is long over due back at the refugee camp and many fear the worst.

  • Nate and Meril we're seen playing birdpipes for dancing and laughing children in the refugee camp, while Maya told them stories about various gods and languages.

  • Alice Marrian, the young girl whom Anna Siglerson has taken under wing, could not be located for many hours after the initial attack. Soon enough however, she was seen amongst the children of the refugee camp. She appears to be okay, if dirty as the day Anna originally met the girl. To pass the time, Alice offers to help take care of any orphaned children.

  • The two famous Master bards of Peltarch, Eowiel Senella and Demi Arkania Rei Can'dii have been missing from the Refugee Camp for some time. Apparantly they both went into the city for different reasons and neither has come back. Their relevant comrades whisper they are long overdue, and rumours fly as to their fate.

  • Rumors state that Rolan, the one banned from the city of Peltarch was at the front lines of the attack to retake the city. He was said to be sitting there the whole time banging his sword against his shield smiling to himself as he prepared to go to war for Peltarch. He was said to be quoting that war was his purpose and that the traitors of Peltarch will feel the vengeance of his blade. He was also apparently seen afterwords talking to magistrate Zyphlin, the one who he supposedly commited crimes against that led to his banning from the city.

  • Rumors are not even needed. Smoke can be visably rising from a burning peltarch from a ways down the nars. The rumors don't start till you get to the place where the outer tower used to be, now a land filled with tents and broken people trying to hold on. It is said that a coup was staged, supposidly after the former senator Koreth accused the bard Zyphlin of treason and demanded his arrest as well as taking control of the city. Of all the senators it is said only three have knowingly escaped alive for the good of peltarch…Evendur, Roland, and Nico. As well both magistrates made it out alive as well as Captain Lavindo and Varid who have joined in with the ones on the outside.

An attack was perpetrated against the resistance within. After a speech by Zyphlin to all those warriors gathered...jiyydians, norwickians, gali, and peltarchans....before leading a small band of sneaks in to sabotage the siege engines. When a flare of an arrow went up the brave men and women charged under the order of Anna Sigerlson and Kara Du'monte. The battle was long faught, but in the end they killed scores of the insurgents and destroyed countless siege engines before returning once more to the camp and to regroup.

Zyphlin doesn't sleep, how he remains awake and moving is beyond most. Some say he must be sleep walking during all this as he moves through the camp always trying to boost moral and give support or talking to different people planning. He repeatedily gives speeches to different groups of defenders or people, trying to build thier spirits up as the day draws on...

  • …some says he spent all his night chatting up some black haired wench, and buying crude traps of Fenz, before vanishing just before the big attack...

  • Several rumors go around the camp about Senator Nico Black. Some say that he valiently fought his way back into the city slaying many of the invaders and coming to the rescue of those stuck inside the walls. A few talk of how he charged into battle like a rabid wolverine and carried PoWs out two over each shoulder. Some say he went after his lover after scaling the outer wall bare handed. A few small children talk about how he rode into battle on the shoulder of a giant and shot beams of light from his eyes….Others say he snuck in during the night while many battled to resuce his lover from her captives....

Nico just moves from one injured person to the next between giving orders to those defending the camp.

  • _A day after Deacon can be seen being dragged off the east wall by his first mate drelan, appareantly a spell of a circle most archmagi couldn't archieve downed him.

It is a question to all but the mage itself, what a person with such insane power was doing amongst common mercenary ranks_

  • Rumors quikly spread that Deacon Sterr, was indeed among the dead carried into the refugee camp, apparantly he died to a bunch of mercenaries he claimed to be falling right out of the sky, infront of him and blocking off his escape routes

A few hours after his passing he could have been found back in the city, attempting to kill as many "lawmen" and traitors as he could find

  • Zyphlin has been seen in the commons often now, a journal in hand, scribbling at maddening speeds then stopping to think. He states he's working on a new play that will be entitled "A fist raised high" but when anyone gets a chance to peer over his shoulder to see what he's writing most of it just looks like chicken scratch. When asked about it he smiles and shakes his head, saying that true art can not be seen till it is completed and a true artist does no know what they write but more they are a conduit for art itself. Most just roll thier eyes at the bard but can't help but smile from the enthusiasm that seems to be building around him as they go off on thier way

  • Penny could be heard telling a story in the commons that took place when she was a little girl. As the story went on, it became apparent that two Banite priests kidnapped and sacrificed the daughters of a neighboring farmer, both under the ages of five. Penny seemed deeply distraught when telling the story, as the two girls were friends of hers growing up. Apparently, she didn't understand their motives for doing it, as she said the girls were sweet and the family was well liked. Instead, she attributed it to the Banites' "black hearts".

  • _More and more men and women, clad in Black and Golden colors, or wearing bandanas in those colors are seen frequenting the streets of Peltarch. Commonly known it are the colors Deacon Sterr and his crew, AKA The Black Sails use for identification.

Rumors travel fast that Deacon has a vast army at hand, being some Captain or Major in some army down south, little more is known about this for now.._

  • Rumors of Gailyn getting into yet another fight, this time with a blue robed man, circulate the city. Some suggested that the blue robed man insulted Gailyns family and honor while others state that the blue robed man simply gave Gailyn a look he didn't like. All agree that the man in blue was quickly defeated just outside the gates. Reports come in of Gailyn muttering about whoresons from the barkeep.

  • Gailyn is seen wearing worn, but well made fullplate and an elegant looking scabbard holding a very fine looking blade. Passersby notice him humming and smiling, decidedly in a much better mood since the rumored run in with the Beshaban priestess. Some have even said that it's actually her sword he now wields and that his smile is one of irony. Others suggest he bedded a rich man's wife and used her to purchase both his fullplate and the sword.

  • Peltarch Far Scouts

_Footsteps cease to pitter patter across rooftops, and thugs have ceased thier search for the Mockingbird.

Sierra Ju'ent seems to have vanished from Peltarch.

And Priestess Daisy is now the not so proud owner of a worn and beaten leather hat._

  • The Halfling Defence League

Admist the shadows of the moonlight, a small dark figure sneaks near to the corpse of the Basheban, his face leans closer to eye her face.
"Damn! Wretch died too soon for the good for me plans!"

  • those watching the sky the other day may have seen an unusual sight approaching the city from the Ice Lake. At first it appeared simply two birds, but as it approached they took on the shape of humans, apparently flying. Rumors abound as to who it was or why they were coming, though most rumors speculate that they figures landed on bard street, perhaps assassins after the Headmaster's life.

  • Keira tracks down the resting place of the Beshaban and chants softly under her breath before burning some spirits in tribute. As always, she's quiet, composed and focussed on her task.
