::New rumours heard in the Mermaid::
-
The city's rumour-spinning long-nosed gnomes report a growing sense of unrest in the community as a further, brutal attack by a self-appointed Gnomehunter is reported. The vicious attack was perpetrated by the camp-fire - known haunt of adventuresome types - and was understood to involve some sort of magicful possession of a city soldier - and the appearance of a balding, dark-clad cleric professing himself mere servant to some Universal Gnome Bane, true identity unknown.
What is more certain, babble the gnomes, is that the racist villain employed divine powers of uncommon magnitude - and left the bespectacled gnomish scholar Caramella and the red-garbed big-game hunter, Perriwig P. Doubleday - barely alive, nursing broken hats and singed flesh.
Furrow-browed gnomish matrons, dragging their clutch of kiddies about the city, are advised to take care and avoid homicidal persons, wherever possible…

@b091d53e92=Karnivor:
According to the slightly drunken sailor, the Hag had a handsome (for his species) ogre over for a rendez-vous, and had ordered the cave trapped extensively to avoid being interrupted.
gah hilarious… the wit of our DM team just makes me grin!

_A roughed-up and somewhat wobbly-legged Sabre makes her way back from the scene of the undead attack, a bottle dangling in one hand. She stops by the commons for a brief chat while swigging deeply from the bottle, weary, but in fine spirits. Anyone overhearing the conversation will no doubt learn that while the scouting expedition found no bugbears, something odd was definitely going on in one of the kobold caves.
According to the slightly drunken sailor, the Hag had a handsome (for his species) ogre over for a rendez-vous, and had ordered the cave trapped extensively to avoid being interrupted. Sadly for the lovers, the scouting party made their way through the defences to put a bloody ending to their romantic tale, and swiping a few of the wooing gifts to boot._

only a while later the eastern plains are hit by earthquakes, and several large and dangerous undead are found, seeminlgy being lead by some lich. All are depatched, at least for the moment.
-
A decent sized party of adventurers lead by Aurelia traveled along the harbor and out to the lake to investigate the validity of the rumors, Aurelia scouted the beach looking for any signs of activity while the rest kept the polar bears at bay. When they found no bugbears they returned and searched the kobold caves before returning to the city.

Rumors circulate of strange, hairy shapes climbing in and out of the bay at night, carrying strange bundles.

_Rumour has it the (in)famous hin merchant Derek Underhill recently hired a ragtag band of adventurers for an off-shore recovery mission of some sort. The group set off in high enough spirits, but upon returning had to raise one of their number from unfortunate death at the hands of the vicious orcs infesting the island destination. Not only that, but the group leader Reilash professed a failure in having procured the item wanted, leaving the group without pay for their efforts.
While the majority left Peltarch in a hurry, heading south, two gnomes and the recently revived human remained at the commons. The gnomes could be heard commentating favourably on Mister Underhill's splendiferous and positively gnomish purple outfits, and in less favourable terms on the morality and mental capacities of certain Tallies._

::Rumours spread thruogh the merchant classes that Firthram may use the upcoming ball to show and garner interest in the products made at Firthram's hold::
-
_Rumour spreads quickly of an upcoming ball, planned by the dashing, if somewhat eccentric merchant Firthram. Hopeful debutants and unwed ladies of the Jewel may be disheartened to hear that the wealthy elven trader has already chosen his partner for the event, namely ms Telli Thunden. Though the dwarven cleric may be more reknown for her skills in combat than on the dancefloor, it is said she accepted the invitation quite willingly, including the offer of a ball gown tailored to her particular measurements.
Another topic of conversation of late is quite likely that of the elderly elf by the name of Percival Trueblade, best known as the Red Avenger. Tales of his recent exploits have spread throughout the city, and while it remains to be seen if the Red Avenger will attend the aforementioned ball, he could be observed at the commons chit-chatting amicably with Firthram and the others, eventually leaving on the arm of young Cerulean Knight Lycka.
Finally, word has it that a disturbance to the east of Peltarch was dealt with by a group of intrepid adventurers. The party, lead by the Bardic College's own knight Adrian, all returned alive and well, if stinking horribly of death and decay. According to the gnomish scholar Caramella, a wicked altar of Evilocity was successfully destroyed, along with the practicioners of some dark Tallie cult and the undead creatures raised by them. Last but not least, the three gnomes of the party seemed particularily elated at the Liberation of some rare and fine jewels._

_A large gaggle of adventurers, tall and short, could be observed near the gate to the foothills, listening with varying degrees of attention to one Defender Sergeant Marcus, who sent the group on a mission into the lair of the Hag.
The group, lead by the gleaming Jewel of Glittergold, ms Gilda Haven, set off in high spirits, as is customary whenever gnomes gather. Many members of the group gradually beginning to earn renown as the GGLLAA (or Gnomish Gem Liberation League And Associates) were present, such as Gilda herself, fellow gnomes Cann Onnfodder, Caramella Bestefaren, Yipwyg Brinckton and Grovel, and Tallie Associates Ashe Ferin, along with Rastias, Shadow and Toman. Distant rumbles could be heard from the foothills, before a worn and bloodied group returned, carrying the bodies of four of their group to the Defender Tower.
Rumours afterwards has it that a kobold of unparallelled strenght was defeated, belonging to a rivalling tribe set on taking over the cave. Whatever the truth of the matter is, it's noticable that once back on their feet, the group did appear proud as they departed the tower, alive and in search of pie._
-
Two female gnomes could be overheard at the commons, chattering excitedly about another attack against them by the vile group known as the Gnomehunters. The skinny gnome with the very large hat was positively beaming as she exclaimed:
"And my new Hold Person spell -worked-, Gillity, and not just in Theory! It's just a pity he died in that very same instance, but our Tallie arcanists associates are quite skillful, indeedily! That's one Gnomehunter who'll never harm our kin again, so good riddance to him."
As the pair depart the city in search of pie, mention is also made of a strange and peculiar mage in red, known as the Red Avenger, and how this old elf would make a particularily fine addition to the GGLLAA, for his gnomish trickster streak. With a last comment about the worrisomicity of devils and kobolds, the gnomes vanish down the nars road.

A red headed bard spins a yarn in the local bars of a ancient wizard and a woman trapped in a bottle. As she tells the tale the woman was trapped by the cunning of the old man. Apparently the woman having escaped her imprisonment then attempted to vanquish some travelers. Unfortunately the evil talosian woman met the wrong travelers and now was happily rotting in a Peltarch prison.

_A rare occurrence becomes more and more common in the Commerce District.
Just before sunset on some evenings, an elf can be seen walking up to the Sundial in the middle of the Commons. Nothing too significant about him aside from his above-average height, jet black hair, and cloak of dark grey, a similar garb to the Gypsy Warriors of the South.
He doesn't spend much time there, simply passing a gloved hand over the sundial with a single spoken word, difficult to hear amongst the chatter of commoners.
When he leaves, the Sundial is always polished to a shine, that seems to be good enough for him, despite how quickly or not it is dirtied again._

Apon hearing about these tales of Red Wizards Val'istar sets up camp outside the city neat the foothills. Keeping a sharp eye out for any of the Red Wizards.
-
_Bronze-skinned, goldenhaired elf and language expert Nym can be heard retelling a tale of Red Wizards in the foothills. Not allies of the kobolds, though, but a far more sinister plan at work. According to Nym, brave human fighter Sela and a truly wild druid Toman encountered a magical beast inside a cave in the foothills. They had hoped to find a store of magical scrolls in there. Instead, they encountered a monster that fed off their magic, growing more and more powerful.
When they managed to escape, they encountered an old elf, known as the Red Avenger, Percival Trueblade, who bravely went after the monster to slay it. Asked to guard the entrance of the cave to prevent the monster from escaping, they waited. And that's when a red wizard walked up and brought down the cave on monster and elf alike.
The mage from Thay refused to come along to face trial in Peltarch, instead it turned into a little challenge and the Red Wizard died. The thing becomes more worriesome because of the things that happened afterwards. They barely had had the time to burn the body, of such a foul human as a red wizard, when a pair of heavily armed fighters turned up. Demanding the body back.
Luckily they were able to escape those two, but still it seems worrisome to have Thavyan murderers working so close to Peltarch._
-
Foreigners continue to use Peltarch as a gateway to the Realm of Narfell, most of them come off boats wearing black cloaks and cowls, while others merely walk out of the Docks. All seem headed to Oscura. Something is brewing.
-
Rumour has it that Micah Shilon, the Peltarch Apprentice Mortician has been seen walking the streets of the city during his spare time, splitting his time between the Tent City and the rest of the city, looking to help those in need or for those who have passed beyond the veil.
Seems business is a little slow in the Morticians office these days
-
rumor spreads of heated discussions that took place between the peltarch merchants in the marketplace and a group of elves over peltarch trading papers!

Our fierce little halfling friend will perhaps have heard about a certain pale-skinned elven witch who was pondering her dear little green thing, with about as much mirth and warmth as the point of an icicle.
