::New rumours heard in the Mermaid::

  • Small rumors, in light of the past few days, spread of another mage before the red robe. The mage appeared in flickers, causing some type of portal to appear and summoning forth undead minions. During one point of his attack he spoke of a person named Keram with anger and hatred in his words. He disappeared shortly after his last attack.

  • nods as he orders another round at the Mermaid

    …ya dont suppose...nah....

seems to think better of it, then hesitates

Hmm, well, da honorable Magistrate said he come ta Norwick to give weapons away..."give 'em away," he said. It was the same time these undersellers were around in town too, and now we hear that they all be talkin together? That barbarian and the magistrate? An unlikely pair, aye?

We dont see that honorable bard in town that often, but when we do, there's always some undersellin goin' on....

    shakes his head emphatically

Ya dont suppose there's more to this than meets the eye, do ya? Maybe that's why he was so upset when his friends got in trouble?

takes another gulp of ale, and buys a round for the kinfolk in the Maid

I am sure a respected town official...a politician at that... wouldn't be caught up in a sordid situation like this.

  • listens to the rumors and chuckles. He buys his neighbor an ale and speaks loudly

"Me tells yeh dis.. Bromley wus much better when spinnin his version of things…

Guess whoe'er sold dat book teh Preath abouts Bromley's deeds really gots teh deh magistrate."

    shrugs

"Shame he blamin us o'er sumtin dat starteds as a guild matter anna now he makin personal... "

    nods

"Aye.. Yeh see der wus dis band of merchants undersellin all deh towns, e'en yeh own merchants eer...

Dey wus nae payin deh appropriate taxes teh Jandor anna Norwick. Seem dese theives ran inteh deh magistrate on der way outs of town."

    shrugs

"Nae sure wut dey tolds im...But he sure agitateds...

Me thinks he shoulds have a chat with Jandor anna Lucius...

Me nae believes dat deh honorable magistrate woulds have anythin teh do with dese heinous crimes of robbin deh honest werkers of Jiyyd, Peltarch anna Norwick"

  • _Word starts spreading around the commons and the bars of peltarch. Stories of the hero Adam Bromley, his brave deeds performed to cure half the city of the vile sickness that had threatened the lives of so many, and his rise to become our beloved senator, only to die heroically trying to recover a relic to fight one of the cities biggest fiends. Bards have been going out throughout the city recalling a number of the tales at first, giving the city a fond memory of thier lost senator.

Following this however begin stories of insults, of slander, of defamation of the character of this great peltarchan theater. Talk of the barbarians to the south, two foul mouthed and fouler smelling dwarves, insulting his name and all that he stood for. Speaking of how they wish to shit on his grave and laugh at any that thought him a good man. They call him a piece of trash, a fark of a man that wasn't worth a dime. This they called one of Peltarchs greatest hero's. They tell of how these dwarves laugh at how they make such money off the ignorant and blind peltarchans, offering thier services and thier inferior items to steal the money from proud working peltarchans. It is even said that they were reported laughing happily about how they destroyed peltarchan property, including famous works of the great hero. The names of the dwarves are spread often with this tale, the name "Dolvak" spoken outloud and the first names of Dwin and Folir_

  • _The commerce district is in an uproar after a giant golem made out of unidentified metal smashed it's way through the entire district, destroying houses, killing and maiming guards. Rumor has it the golem was summoned by a Red Wizard of Thay, who announced himself as Ankor, before he was shot down. The golem seemed invincible, arrows, sword and magic seemed unable to affect it. In the end, the mindless rampaging beast was lured outside of the city by Senator Nico Black, and the gates were locked. The construct tried to smash it's way through the gates, when Captain Anakore of the Cerulean Knights summoned a fire storm of immense power on top of the golem, which slowly melted it, destroying it.

The carnage is immense, and the Healers from the Temple and construct workers have their hands full with the healing and repairs._

  • Talgrath is heard to be outraged about the brawls. Stating that if he was general, things like this wouldn't occur. He seems to be growing more and more impatient for the senate to vote on the issue of who is to be general of the Defenders. He is also heard to be disparaging the captain's refusal to form a temporary council to deal with the problems and divisions in the ranks, and claiming that the captains who have their men wear sashes are just after power.

  • _Evendur's bodyguard Danerk is rumored to have been the target of several insults over the past tendays from Defenders of different platoons. The offenders, to varying extents, apparently mock Danerk as Evendur's lapdog and degrade the integrity of his Captain, Kaster Lavindo. For all intents and purposes, Danerk has appeared to weather the insults in a professional manner… so far.

Other rumors suggest that the divisions within the Defenders have gotten so bad as to lead to brawling in the streets. One can only speculate what will happen next._

  • The market shop had two boards with the word Beware nailed up over the door durring the night.

  • Word has it that Nico is looking for new merchants who would like to come work for him. He is taking many under his wing and teaching them how to earn some…honest...coin.

  • When asked about the death of Janita, Deacon goes silent

She nae wanted ta return.. foolish woman, 'ats why ah liked her to.. 'ats why ah liked her..

  • Stories spread of a group of heros defending the gate from an attack by kobolds led by Ogres, why they attacked or where the guards were seems to be a mystery.

  • It likely goes unnoticed by most, but a few folk in the Mermaid talk of how the rather loud occupant, Janita, seems to have been slain somewhere to the south. They seem somewhat relieved to no longer have to put up with her somewhat irritating stay at the inn, though some comment the docks are the worse without her cartography skills.

  • Rumors circulate about a large black cat going beserk in the commons. No fatalities however there is talk of injuries and the owner of the cat having been taken into custody.

  • Ferret is now taking bets on how long their marriage will last

  • On a somewhat happier note then all the doom and gloom lately, rumour has it that Talgrath "finally got off his lazy ass" and proposed to Merydian.

  • Rumors begin once again of a magical duel in the commons. As the story goes a rogue mage appeared and began to attack. Details are few and far-fetched as most ran once the attacks begin, some do mention the mages seeming ability to play with illusions. Though some still pause and point at the burned cobblestones from the spells the mage threw.

  • An abrupt scene in the commons following a bit of a distrubance between a Cerulean Knight and a guard saw Luitenant Senella of the Cerulean Knights administering a Public Flogging to Knight Clandra Galpen, the grim faced Luitenant gave the rather, understandably, dour Knight no less than twenty five hard lashes for her misconduct. She the Knights of the Cerulean Stars will maintain their excellent standards of disipline in these uncertain times.

  • It is known Deacon is usually found in the dock district, especially now he has a few real estate projects going on. Also it is known he has a daughter, or atleast a girl who he treats like one.

((Msg me on Irc, or IG when you need the "Dark clothed men" to speak with me. ))

  • Rough men in dark clothing have been asking for information about Decon and his crew.
