::New rumours heard in the Mermaid::

  • An incredibly large group of adventurers set out towards the Giantspire some days ago. Slowly but surely a few began to return till in the end only eight of those that left were still gone. They returned much later, apparently carrying ore…some even whisper Mithril...and a chest, looking rather battle weary but alive, all the same.

  • ::Nathen Wingates is seen much more often in the city, now, having emerged from his hermit-hood in the college. Yet something is odd about the red-cloaked bard, his skin seems paler; his eyes tired and strained, and never far from a small canteen attached to the right side of his belt. When approached, he tries a friendly smile and his demeanor is generally polite and quiet::

  • Ocean on the other hand seems subdued, her nightly playing in the Mermaid slowling to a tune now and then, and all melancholy and sad songs. She's also noticeably smelling of whiskey now and then, though none report seeing her actually drunk.

  • Caling chatters happily in taverns about the Drow she met in the damp kobold cave with Sgt. Strauss of the Defenders.

She reckons they'd killed the kobolds and were hanging about for something. The interested can get an in-depth description of the drow's gorgeous cheekbones, the way he leapt and spun like a dancer and the handy way he knew where to stick swords into Sgt. Strauss.

She can also expand on drow-tracking techniques over soft ground, due to the conspicuous pointy-toed Drow boots they wear…

  • Despite having been an almost permanent fixture at the Vanity Plates boutique the past few months, it seems that Caling's fortunes have run out.

She returns to more frequent tavern appearances bringing new and exciting tales of the 'life pyratical'. apparently, if this is successful enough, they may be compiled into a larger work entitled 'Caling the Pyrate Queene'

  • In a moment away from drowning small animals, dwarfen Priestess of Umberlee, Mercy, gathers a group about her in the Mermaid, holding forth on an amusing incident involving a young lass called 'Butter-Knife' and a termite mound secreted about her underpants, causing substantial difficulties in elementary sitting, and resulting in a mauled posterior.

  • On one of his trips to the bathhouse, Senator Aarron Ashald can be seen talking to a young girl. The conversation turned into him rubbing her behind, but he swears he was only being a gentleman and healing some nasty wounds on the girl.

_When Dentin vanishes from the sight, homeless pickpocket swipes some sweat from his forehead and lets out a long, sigh of relief thinking that Lady Luck itself has her eyes upon him. His sigh quickly turns into a yelp, as strong fingers close around his throath.

Large, strong-looking and obviously very angry half-ork in dark clothing and helmet is gripping the pickpocket by his windpipe with his left-hand. In his right-hand, people see a some blunt object, obviously a club of somekind. Club lashes. Many times. After the pickpocket is rendered more or less uncounsious and mauled, Half-Ork proceeds to search his victims possessions as if searching for something. Searching obviously doesnt bear fruit, because half-ork gives an angry snort and a sharp kick for the mauled pickpocket.

"Hmph, ya lowly thief.. too bad that ya didnt seem to be the weakling Gra…err, Grankh was looking for".

After the remark, Dark clad half-ork proceeds into one of the numerous alleys in the dock district. Dock workers, who saw the vicious beating are either leering for the pickpockets fate or shaking their heads for the unnecessary amount of force, which was applied to the pickpocket._

  • Lately, Dentin has been spending more and more times in the docks, usually wearing a robe in an effort to conceal his metal leg. He spends his time with the people, giving them advice and a listening ear, and aiding them with their work or dispensing Gond's blessings if necessary. He sees to his tasks with a great deal of humility and patience, taking a servant's disposition towards those common folk. Rumours trickle trough that Dentin even helped a young, homeless pickpocket escape from the guard.

  • Peltie's market has seen a flood of lizard loot of late, smuggled in by adventuring bastards with coin on their mind. Those brave enough to wander into the marsh will find the occasional body, picked clean of anything worth a penny. Quite what effect this rampant freebooting will have on Peltarch's relations with the lizardfolk and their evil-eyed Queen, is difficult to say.

  • There's also a rumor about a small woman that is afraid of the sun and wants to kill someone called Kara. It's also said that the small and scary woman's troops consist mainly out of zombies.

  • Rumor spreads of a massive attack of dead people on the city today. Hordes of living dead swarmed the gates. Many guards lay dead before the defenders rallied and charged. Lead by Sarge Strauss they managed to push the threat back out into the pass.

  • Juster is seen walking through the city with a large smile. Wehn asked about Hjoichi being dead he gives a small chuckle and shakes his head. Him, dead? No way… He then just grins and walks off.

Later when he hears about a pink lady in the city calling herself the Queen of fashion he just busts up laughing.

  • Recent rumors circulate that the bard, Penny, clad in her shocking hot pink catsuit, spent several hours standing atop the sundial in the commons lecturing to the crowds about the merits of fashion as a form of art. The self-declared "Minister of Fashion" proceeded to drop several juicy soundbytes, some of which included:

"Pink is the new fashion." and "Fashion is art, people!"

Many in the crowd seemed particularly bewildered by the display, though a select handful seemed to distill her message into the brief summary that fashion is art, and art seeks truth and beauty, therefore fashion is the everyman's vehicle to truth and beauty through art. Following the display, several women, including Senator Senella, were seen heading off to Vanity Plates with Penny, at least one returning with a more vibrant, though tasteful, set of clothing.

  • _The Dead Kitty Putsch

Crowds of commoners report that an unusual agreement was made in the Peltarch commons, between the elven Priestess of Sharess, Hedia, and dwarfen pyrate and Umberlant cleric, Mercy. After curt, if not entirely comprehensible discussions, it was apparently agreed that cats are off the sacrifice list, in exchange for a splash of coins.

It has been noted, however, the number of stray dogs about Peltarch has decreased. Just yesterday, Mercy was spotted, performing her usual ritual sacrifice, the moggies replaced by lovely little puppies. It is not known if they floated or not._

  • A rather pale man was seen in peltarch guard armor recently… it appears there is a new guard on duty...

  • Drelan can be heard remarking over his wine.

"The menacer slayer?.. you're kidding aye?" He frowns as he asks, then mutters about the good ones always dying.

  • Someone said the Captain of the Far Scouts is dead for sure.

_Rumors speak that there was an odd incident at the Mermaid.

Hulking orc was strolling inside with some woman tow. After the orc had bullied some dwarven customers with a club, they both retired in nearby room with long benches and a small fountain, closing the door tightly for a clear indication for privacy. Briefly after the door closed, some customers claim that that they heard orcish screams and womans crying inside the room. Background noises from the numerous customers make it impossible to be certain about the noises thought.

After some time, same woman quickly slipped from the room into the streets. Hulking ork emerged shortly after, obviously sulking from something. Ork sat down and had few ales alone, before he headed out.

Those who looked inside the room saw traces of blood on the long bench leading in the fountain, which water was slightly bloodied. Both of those strange customers were clad in dark clothes._

  • Oreth, on one of his frequent trips through the city, also catches word of the ceremony. Initially, he dismisses it, saying that surely everyone in the docks just standing by and watching stretches any form of believability, but after hearing of it over and over, he finally believes it, and ends up running into Lucid just about when both of them are getting properly pissed off about it.
