Tavern Rumors of Peltarch
-
Word goes around the town of unrest amongst some quarters with the influx of refugees. Some say there's even been a murder, Peltarchian against Norwickian.
-
Scrawled on a dock quarter wall in bright red paint, many passerbys can see the following:
SECOND FRONT NOW!
DOWN WITH THE FURBALLS
KILL THE GREYS
PFLN
-
Many of the alley inhabitants of the docks area report of a crazy plate wearing elf trying to sneak around in the alleyways. His loud clanking footsteps are often followed by sounds of crashing and the running away of the areas felines!
-
_Kaboom! The Mermaid was attacked by powderkeg, leading to the deaths of many innocents.
One man killed himself being caught, a woman was arrested for the crime.
An angry crowd formed afterwards, blaming the event on all kinds of parties, from bugbears, to Oscura, to Kara herself!_
-
A drunk ship captain was assassinated in the Commons last night. Apparently the assassin was dressed was one of his crewmate, drank an invisibility potion and escaped with ease. The man was a foreigner, and it is unknown why he was targeted.
-
_Rumor has spread of an attack on the south gate of Peltarch. The assault was composed of a large number of Kobolds, and Lizardmen from the Marsh.
The Defenders aided by several sturdy adventures who happened to be near by in the commons, managed to beat off the attack.
I is whispered that the Leader of the attack, a large Lizardman, had Oscuran gold in his pouches….easy to come by to be sure, but unsettling none the less._
-
Far from distraught Thistle seems excited when the rumor comes to her ears and sets off south to see if it is true.
-
If the troubles in Norwick weren't enough rumors began to spread of a silver dragon being sighted on the long road.
-
Word quickly spreads that Oscura has begun trading with the occupiers of Norwick.
-
_The citizens of Peltarch are treated to an impromptu parade just a few days past.
The streets are filled with a multitude of Right-Sized folk as they process from the Icelace beach to the Theater. It seems as though the entire contents of the Silver Valley, including all their stock and provisions, have found a way to the City.
The mass exodus is led by Ginger, among other prominent Right-Sized leaders, and is escorted by several adventures who happened to be in the Commons when the group arrived. The transfer went off without a hitch, and soon the theater and streets of Peltarch are swarming with hin and gnomes.
As the last group enters the gates, a bright flash and the found of thunder is heard coming from the beach area, and away south._
-
_::The Peltarch Defender Shallyah is seen much less than before out in the streets, and when she is seen, she seems to be carrying with her a new inseparable partner - a small notebook, or sketch book that keeps her attention at all times unless disturbed.
Sometimes she makes anotations, others she just contemplates it for long periods of time, with pensive gesture.
Anyone coming close enough to see what's in it could see an orderly mess of dots, lines, crosses and arrows amongst other less obvious symbols that on first glance don't seem to make any sense::_
-
_Sirion pukes all over the commons for nearly two days straight and doesn't die.
Other spellcasters vomit as well, but none for as long.
It's almost impressive.
And incredibly gross._
-
general Grag is seen entering the temple of Triad it iis rumored he had a long prayer with Daisy and other Tyr devotees*
-
Olwyn Wyvernskull, devout paladin of Helm, reads the note wearing a solemn expression. She takes a note of the three names listed on the appended sheet and marches off to find them.
-
A board is leaned up against the inside of one of the mermaid walls before/until its removed. A piece of parchment nailed to it.
In charcoal a name is written and plenty of paper is left as if indicating others should list as well.
From Norwick Now Safe
Corwin A.
Havon(( Hereafter is Syied's editing. ))
_An additional parchment is placed beside the list, reading:
"We are attempting to rally refugees and survivors from Norwick into what we will call the Norwick Remnant. All may apply. We seek to ensure our own survival and that of Peltarch. Contact Ardent, Arlan, or Havon."_
-
Having allowed sufficient time for the popularity of the catchy song about the praises of Aerdrie as composed and sung by Bon settle in with the unwashed masses, the Winged Brother Therean leads a brief procession of music through the districts of the city to attract some interest, culminating with a brief sermon upon the marketplace soapbox and a question and answer period should any people be interested in what he has to say.
-
_Rumors circulate around the Commerce District that an Elf, calling himself Imril, is interested in anyone who might have information on where to find large groves or stands of Maple trees. He claims to offer any lumberer, woodsman, or Ranger with such knowledge 20 gold for such information.
Also, it is heard that an Elf with a red cloak has been seen buying every kettle, pot, and large bowl he can get his hands on._
-
_Possibly in search of those skeletal pirates, a large group of determined-looking adventurers sallied forth from the temple of the Triad; shining knights and squires of the Order alongside plucky, rightsized people of the Valley, staltwart members of the Legion, the Defenders and a stalking ranger. Indeed, their path lead through the city and out towards the farmsteads and the shipwreck, where they entered the misty caverns at the base of the sheer cliffside.
Two days later, the commons are treated to the rare sight of a fullplated knight all but skipping past, long braid dancing as she sings:_
"Ding, dong, the witch is dead!"
-
Inside the inns, everyone has a new story to tell. One of the most popular afirms a ghost was seen flying up into the dark skies of the night.
Another one tells how a black haired woman was witnessesd to have draged two dead bodies into the Temple of the Triad.
And last but not least, it is said that the old shipwrack was inhabited with some skeletal pirates!

During a patrol of the sewers beneath Peltarch, a party consisting of Ashena, Fabian, Romulus, Mystic and Rasuil encountered a well organized group of eight armed men. They appeared to be from Easting Reach, a notorious pirate hangout. They certainly looked like pirates.
Their leader gave the name Henry Tazzletoff and said he was a professional treasure hunter looking for treasure. He seemed nervous and eager to get away from us. None of the men took any hostile action and there were no city officials among us so we had no authority to detain them. After warning them to put away their weapons before going up into the streets, they were allowed to pass. A complete search of the sewers and barrows beneath turned up nothing unusual.
