Tavern Rumors of Peltarch

  • In the classic drinking game of one upping stories, late one night a very drunk dock worker starts raising his voice..

Wait wait.. wait now! I've gotten a good ones for allof ye. You knowin' these here stories and stuff of like pasts things.. well, I be seein' something from the future! I have, I have. Wasn't but a day or so ago, I'm tallin ye all… Smacking at the hand of his friend who is trying to quiet him down.. Stop that shite. It was that guard, the yellow 'aired elf I'm tellin' ye. But older and in a dress… and let me tell ye what else. Lowers his voice down, Everythin' must be -completely- different in the future, cause I'm tellin ye, that guard didn't know SHITE about where anythin' was anymore, and was wearin' a dress. Crazy thing had to ask directions to an inn… gone! I'm tellin' you.. Everything must be gone!
    Looks violently ill a moment..

    GONE!!
He collapses face down to everyone's laughter.

  • _Belma'r the Slaad Savior has been seen around Peltarch warning people about something to come. He warns of "not fun chaos" coming soon and they better be prepared, but not to worry because "fun chaos" will be there to fight it, and even "crazy law and stuff" might help a little.

He just needs to know who and where the "Laughing Lady" is._

  • Dwin Dolvak, the courageous and kind ex-Chancellor of the Mighty Realm of Norwick is seen more often that usual in the Pearl. He's been on a bit of a shopping spree, rumors say, purchasing many "suitable outfits" for social life in Petlarch. Some even say that he has been looking for an apartment to rent.

  • With a smile and a shake of his gauntleted hand, MacAllister gives thanks to the kindly knight, and begins another search… this time, with a name to aid him.

  • ::Within the temple a kindly knight in blue and gold suggests the man continue his search by seeking the Knight Roland Brynmor, a paladin of Helm::

  • A man in hunter and azure plate, calling himself MacAllister has been speaking with everyone in the Temple, as well as the mermaid about faithful followers of Helm. He wears no emblems or symbols, but it seems he has found a great interest in the Everwatchful.

Those who may hear him hear that he has been spending time in the temple, praying for guidance, but aside from that he knows not how to learn more.

  • Disaster in the harbour! It seems a Seafarer vessel leaving the bay ran smack onto a huge stone spike inexplicably sticking out of the bottom of the harbour, causing it to rapidly take on water and sink. A valuable cargo of peppers was ruined, although nobody was killed.

Many people are now asking what the devil a bloody huge stone spike was doing jutting out of the bay to begin with.

  • Perriwig P. Doubleday is admiring the boats in the Docks when the battered cog limps in. Recalling his own recent sailing adventures on the Icelace with a gulp, and eyeing the rents in the hull, he turns to his gnomish companions - Gilda Haven and Caramella Bestefaren - and hoots…

"Gadzooks, look at those gashes! What the devil could have done such a thing?"

  • _One of Sir Mariston's new trading cogs limps back into harbor, huge gashes in its hull and spooked-looking sailors lining the railing with harpoons.

The captain, Wilhelmina Dal, can be seen disembarking and hurrying towards the Temple of the Triad, muttering something to her first mate along the lines of, "I think we're going to need a bigger boat."_

  • Given the… excitement... in the city of late, many wealthy people are availing themselves of exotic means of getting away from it all.

Cassandra Je'laan has opened a floating pleasure-barge which has been navigating the river, serving as a sort of floating dinner party and revel.

Rumor has it that Captain Odrim Hollowmoon will be opening passenger service on an actual flying ship to Damara, where, they say, a Peltarch-backed consortium will be opening a casino called the City of Brass.

  • Some angry shouting was heard in the Loanshark's office, and a rather angry couple stormed out just as it stopped.

  • ….Troff orders 2

  • … so does Sy.

  • … Brynden orders a Fenz Potion Package.

  • ((I very, very nearly laughed out loud.. at work.

  • @d9695987c4=Fraoch:

Whatever its provenance, it seems that Fenz's new scent is all the rage. No fewer than three well-turned-out ladies have been seen vying for his attention.

Fenz is later heard addressing a small crowd curious as to the rumors.

"Ladies! Look at me. Then look at your man. Then back to me. Then back to your man. Then back to me. Now look at your coinpouch. It's not there! The Judiciall Nypper just made off with it. Now look at the Guard. Now back to me. I'm not a Guard. But I smell better than a Guard, even a Guard in hot pursuit of the thief with YOUR coinpouch. Hot means sweaty. If that Guard were me, which he's not, he'd have used Auld Fenz Boddie Scent and would be RIDING A MAGICAL THIEFTAKING PONY, with a scorpion tail, and your coinpouch would be as good as returned. Now look to my hand. Nothing. Then look at your belt. Nothing. Then back to my hand. It's a genuine Fenz Potion Package, with three strengths of healing potion, a potion of speed, and my trademark scent. If you'd bought it, you could have chased down that thief, or sent your man to do it, but you didn't, because you don't smell like me, and neither does your man. I'm on a rant stand."

  • As the Docks return to business as usual, something less than usual begins to occur. Large mobs of youngsters, most of them too young for regular dockwork, are rounded up by Seafarer officials and taken to the Guildhall. When they emerge they divide up into smaller groups and scatter around the district, cleaning up debris, fixing up shop fronts damaged in the riots and generally sprucing up the Docks. By the end of a couple of weeks, the place looks like the riots never happened. None of the merchants or traders are charged by the boys for the cleaning and repair work. It seems they are being paid well enough as is.

  • For anyone happening to wander by the house, Aelthas is seen with a pile of broken dishes sitting on the street beside him and a man is there changing the locks on the door. Maybe some thief tried to break into the house and steal something and they got into a dish fight?

  • Rumors abound of a Defender patrol returning with two half-decomposed bodies found in a sweep of the lakeside cave in the cliffs in the Western Foothills.
