Tavern Rumors of Peltarch
-
*Rumor has it that the Tiller Farm will increase production in dairy as advised by Lady Varya Tiller in order to help provide milk for the dwarves. 4000 coin on possibly importing some rothe to meet the dietary needs of the dwarven people. She would also let all the dairy farmers know that the dwarves Bunus and Dalton are to thank.
Furthermore, 500 gallons over the next few days of regular milk as thanks will be donated to the dwarven Refugee camp as a gift, courtesy of the Tiller Farms on behalf of Bunus and Dalton's needs to purchase large quantities of milk in the future.*

The talk of the taverns for a few nights is that of the mysterious, incredibly loud entity that tore up part of Peltarch's wall as it pursued unknown individuals. This strange, firey creature let out roars of fury and threats of death as it bowled through several Defenders, just after two guards were slain by unknown assailants. The creature, and its prey, vanished south, leaving only awoken and confused Peltarchians and shaken and battered Defenders.

A new game has spread around some of the dingier taverns of Peltarch, thanks to the actions of someone they're too drunk to remember. Spice Beer, they call it, and boy do drunken idiots like it. Can you handle the heat? Turns out a lot of them can't, and the lighthouse is none too pleased with the amount of sickly people being dragged through their door. The local guards, much to their displeasure, have had to remind people not to put literal poison into their beers.

A certain rusty man, maybe with some kind of wicked glow in his eyes and a broad grin in his face, says, or rather shouts after hearing all of the commotion
OH YEAH BABY!!! If they are closing the bank, make it so they give money back to the people, specially me who has never opened up an account but WANTS THE MONEY BACK FOR THE PEOPLE HAHAH hahah HHA AHAH haahHA AH AH !
HEY! I bet the troops storming the city is all about closing the bank and taking the money for theselves, NO WAY, LIBERTY FOR ALL!! HAHA HA HA HA Ah.
Here, have this special beer-spice, pal. Tastes better in yer drik, yep. Just watch me.
The rusty man, after swalloing the full contents of one of the offered vials he may or may not hand out some of those to the drunkards, letting them to make the choice whether to spice or not their beers.
The rusty man, takes his leave laughing madly and babbling some words

While Cerulean Priestess Shesarai sat eating dinner in the Dancing Mermaid, a couple of patrons wandered over to her table, hats in hand, and spoke to her.
"Miss, we saw you in uniform standing outside the crowd of Peltarch Defenders and Goal Guards the other day. But nobody heard you say nothing! Which side were you on?"
Shesarai answered calmly. "I took no side. I am an officer of the City. The proper authorities handled the situation and prevented a violent confrontation."
Not satisfied, the pair asked again: "But which side are you on now?:
"The City's side," she replied. Then she went back to eating dinner, clearly discouraging further questions.

Did you hear that High Hold is sending a letter to the Regent to continue peaceful interactions and negotiations?
it seems Sent does not want a fight...he is asking for an Embassador exchange.
Trade goods have been a boon to this city...
With better trade over the roads it will force the Seafarers to better prices.
Lord Sent has some balls, bigger than the princess, hahahaha.

Whispers and shouts circulate through the taverns and inns in Peltarch of stand off at the Gaol. Hundreds of Defenders entered the city, breaking their oaths and vows, ignoring their orders.
The princess seemed amused at the total lack of dicipline among her troops as it becomes clear that their pledges are to her and not to the city and Crown.
"womans entire damn harem showed up the second she was dragged off like a child to the gaol"
"Best to not cross her, she wants to see the streets in rivers of blood, heard that soldier say it all bold like"
"Laws good enough for us but not for her. Heard she personally killed that banker with her bare hands" spits "not that the greedy bastard din deserve it"
"Heard the princess actually poisoned the king and is now getting ready to do in her old man and the princes"
And on and on the word goes, getting more outlandish, maybe, as the liquor flows.

Following the recent publications by Reyhenna Jorino, as well as her victory in court, crowds have begun to form calling for the resignation of Garric Hemway as a banker with the Bank of Peltarch. Some go so far as to call for the dismantling of the Bank of Peltarch itself. Labourers and farmers, bringing their tools including hoes and scythes and wrenches, have gathered in a torch-lit crowd around the bank to make these calls, blocking many who attempt to enter or exit the bank.
The nobility of the residential district grows restless due to the presence of what some have called a mob.

There appears to be a new face around the Peltarch crafting hall in recent days, and it looks like his discussion of Kossuth in his aspects of purifying and protective fire is going down well with the gondsman smith.
It also appears that Vertus Dahl, after being seen in the company of Clare the barmaid of the Ferret who now sports a handsome shoulder bag, is now selling these same bags to those that wish to approach him.
They seem to be capable of holding huge amounts of stuff with very little weight it seems judging by the piles of stuff she carries around in hers. He himself advises using them for carrying around heavy ore, tools and other heavy items.
He also lets it known that he thinks his bags are the cheapest and best on the market bar none...
Why they are known as "Tiffany Bags" is still a mystery. See Vertus Dahl at your nearest Brazier.
*Vertus in recent days, is becoming increasingly successful in his current line of business, and has also taken to working for long hours at the bellows and forge in humble service to other smiths. Though he makes clear that he is not beholden to them, and neither paid, nor their formal apprentice.
Also, he's seen purchasing rations and hearty cold pies out to the distant giantspire foothills and mountains, to those on penal watch at the outermost outpost of Peltarch forces. He always ensures their braziers are lit and well fuelled and that any requiring healing are attended to.
He's also seen very prominently attending the docks, where he spends a lot of time at the crafting hall. Holding his prayers at dawn or highsun looking to the east, as well as giving out more of his freshly hunted meat BBQ'd outside the hall with a remarkable degree of talent. He looks about him with pleasure, as he sees the smell and smoke travel across the docks district bringing more to his fireIt's not entirely clear why these displays of piety and humility are being undertaken, but he seems to be preparing for a trip. He observes to those who listen that there are few around who understand the rites and venerations common to Kossuth, and even less so for those who follow the purifying aspects of the Disciples of the Phoenix and Knights of the Cleansing Flame*
-
:: Vertus Dahl, faithful of Kossuth, the Disciples of the Phoenix and Knight of the Cleansing Flame, occasional public speaker and writer of the righteous texts of the Annulus Conflagrus - relaxes after his return to the region hearing talk of heretics of Kossuth in the region who need to meet their end. ::
:: He puts his feet up after servicing his simple but brightly coloured fullplate, pulling out a widely distributed souvenir watercolour from Bezantur, and the bearded man smiles admiring it a moment before placing it on the table and reaching for his wine-goblet ::

*During the night, in the docks, commotion ensued, city guards was called, hins and children was frightened, wives smacked their tongues disapprovingly, husbands found a reason to stay for another ale.
Mutters and grumbles about thoose southlander nature people not having the common decency to leave their fierce looking animals outside the wall was heard.*

Murder most foul!
The thing on many tavern goers minds is that of the cold blooded murder that took place in the Docks. Sure death isn't a stranger to Peltarch, and murder isn't exactly unheard of in the Docks, but the rather interesting setup is a lure for gossips and the notoriously nosy. A dead noble with a sordid past, who left Peltarch years prior in shame. A statue maker who made the centerpiece of the commons now shackled and arrested for the gruesome act! Did he do it? Who cares? It's good gossip!
With Pious behind bars, rumors ignite about whether or not the Statue Maker actually did it. Rumor has it that a small group of adventurers signed on as his "legal team" to prove he didn't do it. Time will tell who takes the fall for the death of the so called Fallen Noble.

Following the Defender occupation of the Docks by Captain Reyhenna Jorino, the Seafarers Guild filed several motions with the Magistracy. Magistrate D'Arneau immediately petitioned the Crown for an emergency hearing concerning the increased military presence in the Docks. The Regent called the Emergency Hearing one half hour following the initial occupation of the Docks.
The Seafarer litigation team demanded the immediate expulsion of Reyhenna Jorino from the military, 100,000 gold coins in damages per hour of the occupation (representing the costs incurred as a result of Jorino's actions), and an immediate withdrawal of the forces putting a stop to Seafarer business.
The troops were withdrawn one and a half plus one quarter hours following the initial order, by military decree emanating from the Crown. Reyhenna's expulsion is a matter to be dealt with internally. The Regent, citing the Seafarer's oblique and secret special tax rate, indicated that the Crown will be paying no damages by way of compensation, referring to the good will the Fisher family has accumulated with the Seafarers by permitting the low tax rate. Unwilling to discuss the tax rate further, the Seafarers withdrew their claims.

Rumors circulate through the dock taverns that when Wilkes was killed the fortune in union dues he had collected, disappeared. Seems the people that paid those dues should get them back, since now they are back where they started.....
