Tavern Rumors of Peltarch

  • The rumour say, as one knight returns for the reunion of the century, two other leaves. Armored in Golden and Royal blue plates, a man and a woman have been seen in the docks boarding a ship.

  • Elidor's ears get to hear this news, and he prances about looking for the dwarf. When he finds him, he tells him to join him for an ale while they speak about the GGGGGG

((ill catch you IG, if I don't I'll PM you

  • It seems a new dwarf in town by the name of Moigan is looking for information on the GGGGGG.

  • Mystic has been seen wandering the streets asking merchants for the highest quality of silk and cotton preferably in light blue or cream white colours.

  • Legion

Senator Leaffall was last seen leaving the docks onboard a sturdy ship bound west across the Icelace. She was leaving for long journey judging by the volume of her baggage.

((OOC: IC explanation for my IG absence. Work has been flogging me recently little time or energy to play. Should be back into the swing soon.))

  • Three badly wounded adventureres, Dermin, Romulus, and Andrew, emerged from the Peltarch sewers and were seen conversing with the guards. They were led away to the Guard Captain for further interviews. They claimed that a female vampire had captured a Peltarch guard and held him prisoner in the sewers under the Commerce District, but killed him before he could finish warning them. The three adventurers took down some cultists, but were then knocked out by the vampire that refrained from killing them when she so easily could have. They displayed a captured Peltarch guard's badge and an unusual dagger showing marks of the Shadowmask Cult.

  • Labur is seen running around the town in nothing more than a loin cloth. Did he lose a bet? Had too much to drink and was robbed? Womenized and kicked out in the morning?

  • Legion

Hemrod mentions to customers that he's looking for a longbow, though it's not for him.

    ((PM me for details))

  • Despite all the ill gossip, at least one of the Order's knights seem to retain a high level of popularity: Sir Allestor "The Slayer" Hollins. In fact, his eager admirers, recently converted to the faith, could be seen dragging a lifesized wicker likeness of the humble priest into the Temple of the Triad itself. The flock and the effigy were soon escorted outside again by an exasperated Allestor and a certain Tormish paladin, near dissolving into giggles.

  • There has been a significant influx of crime in Peltarch as of late. Strangely, none of the perpetrators have died in the act of committing their crimes, though a few of their victims have. Indeed, the capacity of the gaol is being tested, and the gaol population is almost overflowing. In response to this, the Peltarch guard has increased its presence on the actual streets and interior of the city.

  • Ill gossip again! It is said that a gnoll messenger came to town to colect the girl promissed by the priests of The Order.

Things don't look good for them, as citizens more and more turn their faces as they see the yellow and blue dressed knights.

  • _::It is noticeable how Shallyah, the woman who some sources of gossip point as the one to be knocked out and bound by the Order possibly to trade for some useless idol of religious value, is seen openly sharing some of her free time with most members of the Order, appearing confident and eased in their company.

However, for a few days now she is only seen wearing her helmet. A precaution against being knocked out, some could say::_

  • Newly returned to the city, Lady Ashena Teroldys of the Order of the Divine Shield could be spotted enjoying the festivities of the Tournament with several of her fellow knights. Despite the malicious rumours going around, the young paladin seems to have a kind smile and a few soft words to share with anyone who asks questions about the matter.

  • _::The First Peltarch's Queen's Gambit Tournament was held at Peltarch's Tournament Grounds, hosted by the Defender Shallyah and sponsored by Hemrod.

The spectators could witness thrilling lanceboard games, vibrant Noble Arms duels, and excellent Fencing matches. In the end, all participants played with honor and in good spirits, but three raised amongst the rest:

Hope, the latest addition to the Order of the Divine Shield roster, is told to have claimed the Grand Prize in Lanceboard, despite the massive support towards Allestor from a mob of his loyal (and noisy) fans.

Aelthas, the retired(?) Staff Sergeant, is named as the one who claimed the Grand Prize in Noble Arms Dueling, after an intense combat against Andrew, a promising young warrior. The trophy was however donated to the knight Order, according the winner, "to be put in good use".

And last but not least, Hen arised as in extremis victor of the Fencing tournament, snatching the victory off Dermin's less orthodox but equally efficient technique in a last masterful lunge::_

  • No one what gives birth to a rumor, but once it is out there, it's hard to stop it!

And this is in almost everyone's mouths: the order of the divine shield is trying to trade an inocent woman's life for some religious piece of wood.

That's it, those paladins have gone insane!

Heated speeches were made from the rant stand, asking for explanations from them. One even said they feel of their grace!

Some of the guards seem to believe this, and stoped patroling near the triad temple.

Wherever they go around town, the ODS members are met with angry faces and silence. Prices for things they buy have gone up, and almost no one is buying from them

Temple services are low, and the temple itself was targeted with a tomatoe!

They were hiding their true nature all these years

  • That fell snake of a necromancer, said to have charmed Magistrate Greywing and beguiled the late Daisy in order to escape his just desserts, Sirion of the Screaming Stave, seems to have been put in his place. He's spotted all over town, sometimes hurt, with burns and cuts, sometimes not…but always he's looking over his shoulder.

Some rumors even say Fendon's last words were to him. 'Et tu, Sirion?'

  • One knight of the Order of the Divine shield, in well polished armor standing tall with tanned weather beaten skin, and another rather pale, or what best could be described as terrified looking, was seen embarking a ship heading south.

  • On a quiet afternoon after ceremonies have died down at the Triad Temple, a lone elf dressed in traveling cloak and Legion black and blues enters the temple and stands quietly in respectful thought in the area Lady Daisy once called her domain. She lowers herself to one knee.

She remains long with her face bowed in silence, but some of the older inhabitants of Peltarch with long memories recognize that long, braided, autumn-leaf red hair combined with the legion plate could be no other than the officer called Lyte, who fought so very hard to help keep N'jast and it's fallen leader from killing the citizens of the city some decades back.

An older woman mumbles about elves and their unnatural youthful appearances- But, in truth, when the returned Legionier looks up at the memorial to Lady Daisy, one can see she is a bit more careworn despite the grace of her race.

Eventually, the elven woman draws herself up, and speaks. Her voice carries pleasantly through the chamber, and somehow riding in it's echo are feelings of hope to all within earshot. Officer, priestess or bard- whatever this woman is- she speaks with a conviction and charisma that inspires.

_"Time bears truth to all who are mortal, and each on his own path, treads each step without the ability to halt that eventual journey to some far fair place.

All each of us can do is our best, with each day we have left to us.

Few fought longer and harder to heal the suffering of this old world than High Priestess Daisy in her service to Tyr. We who are left behind will remember her dedication and sacrifice and goodness always, and the world is lesser without her amongst us.

We should each try to hold to her memory by living up to her example as we tread the paths before us."_

The elven woman smiles to the little group gathered there, and each person is left thinking the smile was just for them. Then, as quietly as she came in, the Legion officer leaves the Temple, out the large doors, and into the waiting world.

  • News of the Cormorant's fate seems to sadden Ashena, who immediately prays for Rosewoods and their colourful crew - including the surly Captain Maynard and his horse. She pokes around for more details at the docks, looking quite out of place, but full of true concern.

  • Rumours speak of the Cormorant, flagship (or rather the only ship) of Avery Rosewood having been found wrecked on a shore on the Icelace some 20 miles north of Peltarch. There are said to be no survivors, including the surly Captain Maynard.
