Tavern Rumors of Peltarch
-
_::The First Peltarch's Queen's Gambit Tournament was held at Peltarch's Tournament Grounds, hosted by the Defender Shallyah and sponsored by Hemrod.
The spectators could witness thrilling lanceboard games, vibrant Noble Arms duels, and excellent Fencing matches. In the end, all participants played with honor and in good spirits, but three raised amongst the rest:
Hope, the latest addition to the Order of the Divine Shield roster, is told to have claimed the Grand Prize in Lanceboard, despite the massive support towards Allestor from a mob of his loyal (and noisy) fans.
Aelthas, the retired(?) Staff Sergeant, is named as the one who claimed the Grand Prize in Noble Arms Dueling, after an intense combat against Andrew, a promising young warrior. The trophy was however donated to the knight Order, according the winner, "to be put in good use".
And last but not least, Hen arised as in extremis victor of the Fencing tournament, snatching the victory off Dermin's less orthodox but equally efficient technique in a last masterful lunge::_

No one what gives birth to a rumor, but once it is out there, it's hard to stop it!
And this is in almost everyone's mouths: the order of the divine shield is trying to trade an inocent woman's life for some religious piece of wood.
That's it, those paladins have gone insane!
Heated speeches were made from the rant stand, asking for explanations from them. One even said they feel of their grace!
Some of the guards seem to believe this, and stoped patroling near the triad temple.
Wherever they go around town, the ODS members are met with angry faces and silence. Prices for things they buy have gone up, and almost no one is buying from them
Temple services are low, and the temple itself was targeted with a tomatoe!
They were hiding their true nature all these years

That fell snake of a necromancer, said to have charmed Magistrate Greywing and beguiled the late Daisy in order to escape his just desserts, Sirion of the Screaming Stave, seems to have been put in his place. He's spotted all over town, sometimes hurt, with burns and cuts, sometimes not…but always he's looking over his shoulder.
Some rumors even say Fendon's last words were to him. 'Et tu, Sirion?'
-
One knight of the Order of the Divine shield, in well polished armor standing tall with tanned weather beaten skin, and another rather pale, or what best could be described as terrified looking, was seen embarking a ship heading south.
-
On a quiet afternoon after ceremonies have died down at the Triad Temple, a lone elf dressed in traveling cloak and Legion black and blues enters the temple and stands quietly in respectful thought in the area Lady Daisy once called her domain. She lowers herself to one knee.
She remains long with her face bowed in silence, but some of the older inhabitants of Peltarch with long memories recognize that long, braided, autumn-leaf red hair combined with the legion plate could be no other than the officer called Lyte, who fought so very hard to help keep N'jast and it's fallen leader from killing the citizens of the city some decades back.
An older woman mumbles about elves and their unnatural youthful appearances- But, in truth, when the returned Legionier looks up at the memorial to Lady Daisy, one can see she is a bit more careworn despite the grace of her race.
Eventually, the elven woman draws herself up, and speaks. Her voice carries pleasantly through the chamber, and somehow riding in it's echo are feelings of hope to all within earshot. Officer, priestess or bard- whatever this woman is- she speaks with a conviction and charisma that inspires.
_"Time bears truth to all who are mortal, and each on his own path, treads each step without the ability to halt that eventual journey to some far fair place.
All each of us can do is our best, with each day we have left to us.
Few fought longer and harder to heal the suffering of this old world than High Priestess Daisy in her service to Tyr. We who are left behind will remember her dedication and sacrifice and goodness always, and the world is lesser without her amongst us.
We should each try to hold to her memory by living up to her example as we tread the paths before us."_
The elven woman smiles to the little group gathered there, and each person is left thinking the smile was just for them. Then, as quietly as she came in, the Legion officer leaves the Temple, out the large doors, and into the waiting world.

News of the Cormorant's fate seems to sadden Ashena, who immediately prays for Rosewoods and their colourful crew - including the surly Captain Maynard and his horse. She pokes around for more details at the docks, looking quite out of place, but full of true concern.
-
Rumours speak of the Cormorant, flagship (or rather the only ship) of Avery Rosewood having been found wrecked on a shore on the Icelace some 20 miles north of Peltarch. There are said to be no survivors, including the surly Captain Maynard.

Spotted regularly within the Temple of the Triad lately, is one of the Orders newest knights, Sir Allestor Hollins of Ilmater. Occasionally lost pouring over tomes and files in the temples upper floor as he continues his own education, he makes a point of spending a fair time on the main floor as well. Welcoming temple goers and faith seekers warmly while spreading the blessings of Ilmater - with an emphasis to the unity of the Triad - before setting out on his daily errands.

@951710143f=Fonic:
Rumours speak of a large number of converts to the Ilmater faith in recent days. What could possibly have caused such a sudden schism?
((lol… that's made my day

In the wake of the bitter-sweet victory over Fendon and his minions, another threat suddenly looms. Alarm bells ring out across the foothills as terrifying demons appear, pushing as far as inside the gates themselves before pushed back by the Jewel's brave Defenders and a score of adventurers. Several Defenders perish while the bells keep ringing, but out across the foothills, three winged celestials keep up the fight, bathed in the light of the divine. General Neverith himself is said to have joined the fray, alongside several knights of the Order and various brave adventurers. Despite the horrors, one wonderous and oft repeated rumour persists afterwards - one of the shining celestials on the field looked ~much~ like Lady Daisy Millern…
-
With rumors of the defeat of Fendon spreading throughout the city, many celebrate the destruction of another threat to Narfell. Shortly after word arrives of the victory though bells begin to chime throughout the city from the various Temples. It doesn't take long for the news to spread that Daisy, High Priestess of Tyr has fallen in the final battle with Fendon and has not returned. A city's celebration becomes mourning as thousands flock to the Triad Temple to pay their respects and flowers appear all over the city at small memorials dedicated to Daisy, women and men alike weep in the street and the Defenders stand rigid all over the city in a salute to the fallen Priestess, bearing banners of Tyr.
-
With the confrontation of Fendon and his armies of undead drawing closer, it is perhaps no wonder that the temple of the Triad seems unusually busy. Of late, there's an additional, anticipatory buzz in the air aswell, and rumour has it that several of the Order's squires are soon to be knighted - a joyous affair, even in such dark times as these!
((knighting ceremony is set to Saturday 2nd, at noon EST, four hours before the Fendon event. Friends, allies and any curious nosy nellies are all invited!))

"Mon dieu vat iz this?" she slowly get up her feet , straighten and brushes of her cloak, then heads to nearest guard asking for an explanation.
Senator Leaffall is also keen to hear an explanation. Her indignation at there being piles of dirt in the common is clear

Walking from the Triads into the commons, Celia is clearly in deep prayers and thoughts of reasent events, her foot get stuck in a pile of dirt. With a loud clankity clank clank she falls without dignity face down in the mud, as she lifts her head up she sees a big hole in the ground…

Beourn BattleMail makes his way through the Nars pass to the Legion Tower. When he arrives, he requests a meeting with Romulus Grey regarding the recent bandit attacks.
Well met, Romulus. Another caravan was attacked on the Nars, none left alive. Dermin and meself came across the mess, and did ah bit o' searchin', hopin' t'find some evidence o' where the bandits 'er commin' from. We decided the woods t'be the most obvious place and went t'scout out the area. We found one bandit, She was doin' sum nasty finger wigglin', castin' fireballs, we had no choice but t'cut her down. We went ah bit deeper and found nothin' but trees and spiders. These bandits may be hidin' out somewhere in them woods. Me blade is at yer service t'help put ah end t'these bandits. If ah find out anythin' more ah will let ye know.

Hearing a rumor that bandits had attacked travellers near the Nars Crossroads, Romulus set out north from Norwick. One of his duties to the Troff Legion was to patrol the road between Norwick and Peltarch and keep it safe. As usual, he went out at night in his black scout's cloak instead of his blue Legion one. Creeping up the side of the road and keeping to the treeline, he scouted the crossroads and the Nars Bridge. He found no sign of any bandits, but on the road north of the bridge, and again in the northeast near the Temple of Tempus, he spotted falcons hovering over the road as if on guard. They did not speak or react to his approach so Romulus left them and made his way to Peltarch. For now, at least, the road appeared empty.

After days spent rallying the "thrill seeking" and bolder men and women underground Mystic returns up above. Visiting the Inn she learns about the good news. "Finally, some one with might and good heart for the land took the burden of duty to slay the beast and alone too, surely it was no beholder?" she giggles happily. "Where can I find this accomplished and devoted person? I wish to pay my respect and offer a reward if accepted?" she calls out rushing back out on the street looking

Rumors say that Mielikkian priest Anor was warning adventurers of strange creatures in the Underdark, carrying with her the body of a strange looking one under her arm (a Deep- Horror Terror).

"RATS!"
Such is the panicked cry coming from the Pissing Goat as employees and customers hurry outside, the door soon shut while exterminators are called for. And what horrid luck, on just this day, the Dolvak door is closed! Instead, a different group is hired, calling themselves "The Sewer Patrol", adept in the destruction of all types of vermin, or so they claim. Funny how one of their number looks very much like a knight of the Order…
