Brakrum enters the office of Colonel Desario

  • Brakrum enters the office of Colonel Desario slamming his chest with a mailed fist

"Sir. Been told to report to you that scout Caelian and meself, under Lieutenant Kresha and the wizard Aramuil, has patrolled the lake in the Rawlins, and then gone and cleared out a smelly crypt in the graveyard. The Lieutenant wanted to test our battleskills, so we went and spattered a few o' them goblins. They proved no match, so we went and fought some deaders instead.

grins That sword ye lent me cuts even the nastiest of them smelly ones right deep, aye. Me thinks the Lieutenant liked our combat skill. Oh, and she says i ought to tell ye Militia folk o' me doings, so i might be stoppin' by again, eh?"

((Hope this way is ok. The post is severely delayed due to exams and other student annoyances, and i'm sorry about that.

As for the writing of reports: My character has a fighter level, but i don't see that as a reason for him to magically have learned to read. He's a CN Barbarian, thinks reading and writing is for weaklings, and a general waste of time. Thus he would need a very strong incentive to learn such a thing. This sort of character is not likely to be the best the best militia material, and if you no longer wish to keep him in, I totally understand that. I imagine guard work requires a certain amount of lawfulness.))

  • Heh, Sela learned how to read from a traveling Bard when she was eight…. But she doesn't look down on those who cannot read.... or write.... or speak complete sentences for that matter.... except for Quin....

    PapaD

  • ((Maya entered Norwick, completely unable to read or write. It was only through the actions of other players and two NPC's that she learned to read. Norwick was her home for a very long time.))

  • ((This is all completely good here. "Word of mouth" reports are completely acceptable, just as long as they are recorded somewhere so everyone can read them. PMing "worded" reports to your officers, or myself are also completely acceptable, they will be transposed into the Militia forums by whomever you send them. And just for the record, Devlin is CN. 🙂 ))

Very good, Brak, keep up the good work. Soon, you'll be wearing a redcloak just like the rest o'us if you keep it up.

  • //Good stuff. Seems my character might fit in after all. After thinking about it, a frontier town like this is just the place for him. Kinda fun to have a character that don't read, makes for a few interesting situations.

Now i just need to find something good to report about.

  • //…as for the CN alignment, keep in mind Norwick has few if any laws and is in fact ruled mostly by word of mouth by the Militia and ruling Chancellor. What we say goes...and that can be easily worked into a Chaotic alignment....probably works best actually...

  • //This is perfect! Your PC is just fine for the Militia. We've had several PCs int he past that don't know how to read or write and that is expected in a back-woods frontier region like Norwick. We just need to see that you are active and are truly interested in being a part of the group. Keep the 'verbal' reports coming!
