Reconstruction

  • Slowly at first, the dwarves of the Stonemasons Guild are seen sporadically at various sites of ruined enterprises and homes in the city. Then it becomes ever more common, with Stonemason dwarves going from site to site, offering their expertise on buildings they think will need work to avoid collapsing, telling woeful merchants how much materials they will need to restore their venues, how much they will cost and so on.

As the weeks pass by, stone and timber become premium trade goods in the city, and the Stonemasons can be seen supervising the reconstruction of the holdings that have managed to secure enough materials. The first project work began on was a series of damaged and destroyed Warehouses belonging to the Wavebreakers Guild. Other sites the dwarves have been surveying include the Wilting Flower, the Lucky Ferret Inn, the Harbourmasters, City Hall, the Jailhouse, various sections of the City Walls and various smaller businesses.

Evidently in a surprising show of defiance, the Stonemasons have refused to take on any work for the Seafarers Guild, leaving them without any tradesmen to see to their holdings within the city, likely forcing them to hire and transport a craftsgroup from Hoarsgate at great expense.

Curiously the Stonemasons have also been seen in one of the least war damaged parts of the city, the Defender Headquarters, inspecting the structures within the little island fort with a grim air.
