Blood on the Bridge

  • Rumors fly that General Lyte lost her temper when a Romani soldier asked her to pay a toll to cross the Bridge with her horse. It's said that she and her companion flew into a rage and killed the soldier by chopping his head off with one stroke. She then returned to Norwick and brought back reinforcements and tried to kill more men who had only been doing their job of guarding the Pass

  • _Word quickly spreads about a tense standoff on the Bridge when General Grag of the Legion spat on the name of Jonni, then refused to pay his meagre 5 gold toll. Meanwhile an open Banite was forced to wait patiently on the other side of the bridge after paying his toll quietly and politely, having to sit through the argument caused by Grag.

He then later returned and "acted like a child", teasing the Hoarrans, throwing insults, trying to threaten them and farting, but to no avail. The esteemed "Child-General", as dubbed by some Hoarrans, then left in a huff when the gate still wasn't opened. Further rumours circulate that the Legion is completely broke, this being the second Legion General to not be able to afford the toll._

  • The Hoarans don't even bother to answer that, they just walk away

Grak is loitering around the bridge, looking for somebody who is in charge
"Oi, ya there. Grak heard aboot dem trakic murder of weakl, err warrior. Say… rubs hands how much coin ya ber readi ta depart, should dem pointy ear bes delivered fer yar folk?"

  • _The Romani circulate the fact that Elyl Wefneran is hereby banned from Romani lands, for murdering a Romani watchman unprovoked and in cold blood.

If he is seen on Romani lands again, his punishment is death._

  • Raryldor is not quick to respond, but does so when he overhears the rumors, which he does often.
"This is my own fault. It was hamfisted, and it left a bad taste in my mouth. But be assured that that gold is going towards fortifications of the pass, fortifications that we'll likely have to tear down once hostilities are declared and banditry becomes rampant. It's a more complicated matter than people are making it out to be.
There's black and white situations. And sometimes all of a sudden there's a big red streak that appears across them that leaves everyone befuddled."

To any who are quick to badmouth or blame Lyte, he very quickly, and very sternly, points out her many heroic actions and personal sacrifices in saving their sorry hides from the N'jastian army, and that it is the habit of the willingly-ignorant and envious to want to bring down the great and brave.

  • _Witnesses that are left are quick to point out that at no time did the Rom warrior raise his sword to her even as she screamed at him. After she left the man lying in his own blood, she turned back to Norwick for reinforcements vowing to kill the rest of them.

    Over 2 pieces of gold._

  • *Rumors abound that the eastlander bandit had a drawn sword and defied the General to "try me", after attempting to rob her crossing the free bridge that exists there because of the spilling of the blood of her and her troops.

Apparently, she did try him, and he was found wanting.*
