Rampage and Retreat

  • In the wake of the event some are starting to refer to as 'The Cracking', the N'Jast armatures ran wild, killing renegade and N'Jast Mainforcer and undead Eastlander alike.

The remaining men of N'Jast have fallen back to the docks, where they are beginning an evacuation by sea.

The civic district remains a no-man's land of smashed buildings and rampaging armatures, the jailhouse seen to collapse in flames. Corpses line the once proud plazas of the retaken Civic District.

The ranks of the Defenders and Guard are decimated, with barely a 5th of their number left standing. But General Lavindo and General Ash seem confident. Many speak with emotion of Ash's fight at the head of his troops, as well as the many outsiders who rallied to defend the Jewel in its hour of need.

Magistrates Barrim and Greywing are said to be dead, and rumor has it that Senator Bravickus was exposed as a traitor and killed.

Rumors pour in from the east that a huge chasm has opened, and word from the south speaks of demons…

Who is this "Lord" fella they Keep refering to? Gond?

  • Taria laughs long and hard at this.

Like this is the first time we've seen all of Dentin's followers slaughtered, how does he keep getting these idiots?

  • When Pavel hears of this, he scowls darkly, and then mutters about too much pain and suffering.

Benji passes the note around for all to read.

    @a0715a49f8=Archon_Prime:

_Citizens and Defenders of New Peltarch, Remnant of the Legion of Ignorance,

You were rusting in a festering mold of stagnation and corruption, and by His might you have been delivered a new chance. The will of The Lord has been done, and you are free to start again. To learn from the mistakes of the past to build a greater city.

But trough your fear of change and your overwhelming pride, you have given rise to a great and terrible threat. Demons roam the land, and soon will be powerful enough to destroy you in your fragile rebirth. To destroy His Will for your new chance. This we will not allow.

The queen of N'Jast is no more. With the loss of her army, the nobility have taken power from her. Whatever politics started this war are no longer valid, and no longer apply to us. We are not of Peltarch. We are not of N'Jast. We are of The Lord. And as He wishes peace on you, we wish peace with you. We will go where He wishes, and He no longer requires us to go against you. The Great Destroyers have arrived, and hatred and spite will only weaken us, and strengthen them.

Our circle of brothers, forged in faith and baptised in war, will stand against The Destroyers. Will you stand with us, or against us?

Three soldiers in N'Jastan armor make their way trough the city to arrive near the barricades in the civic district. There, one of them fires a single bolt into a wooden part of the barricade, before the three soldiers leave the area again. A note is fixed to the bolt…

LEARN TO AIM YOU DAFT <g>FARKS!!!

Benji looks down at the bolt.

    Oh.

    Unrolls it and reads it.</g>

  • *A Peltarch strikeforce spreads word of General Lyte of the Legion and the head of the N'Jast force Kara, clashing in arms in the no mans land between the dock district, being evacuated by N'Jast, and the Peltarch forces holding in the civic district.

No one actually witnessed the toe to toe encounter, it is said, and the fight ended as N'Jast troops arrived in support of their leader, and the Legion General fell back to the Peltarch lines, battered but alive and still feisty.

This seems to mark the end of the direct fighting between the two exhausted, tattered armies, as both look to the vast damage done to their forces, and to the city and surrounding countryside.

No one knows what the future will bring, but for as long as any of the participants live, none will ever forget the scope of the destruction that this massive war brought to the region, changing the face of even the lands upon which it's battles were fought.*

  • _The alliance of N'Jastan and assorted soldiers, many hundreds strong, are soon forced to abandon the city altogether on whatever ships they can secure from the harbor. With the armatures rampaging around, and their supply line trough Jiyyd cut by the demons, the army could no longer sustain its presence in the city.

Pushing and pulling a number of carts loaded with suplies, bits and pieces, a group of twenty-something N'Jastan soldiers heads trough the city and out the south gates, scavenging what they can on the way. What is most curious about this convoy however, is that while the armatures tear people and buildings apart around them, the soldiers themselves are ignored by the machines. Two hours later, the group has left the city and heads into the pass._
