A message from Norwick's "Advisor Natura"

  • The refugees of Jiyyd are called to the clearing by the crafters hall, by a familiar voice with a huge familiar animal by his side. Red hair brushed out nicely, his golden runed breastplate cleaned of the blood and muck it was covered in shortly before, and his woven cloak smelling of fresh grass, Jerrick stands upon the rock.

Friends and fellow Jiyydians, you should all remember me, as I lived among you all for several years, when I first came o this land, and even until the attacks, right next to town.

Fayt (The direwolf) lays down by the rock as Jerrick speaks, a big (very big) green ribbon around his neck. A few children may remember the wolf that stays by jerrick's side, and Jerrick's warnings to only go near such an animal when it is right bY Jerrick's side, but the animal is more than willing to let children snuggle up to him for warmth and petting in the chill of the perpetual night in the town.

_Due to what's happened here, and what is happening all across the land here, I have volunteered my services to Chancellor Dwin Dolvak as his Advisor Natura, to do what I can to help everyone. If you all remember, I am a druid, and I have a couple of ideas on how to help us out, and get light back into our days, and keep the food in our bellies, for us and the children.

There are a few things that I need your help with, though. First, I have some ideas for the crops. In order to start working on that, we will first need to get rid of all the dead crops, instead of letting them sit. I won't force anyone to help me do this, but I would really appreciate the help!

Second, while we work, we need to make sure we're safe! The Chancellor has assured me, and I did ask him to be sure, that those strangers at the gates will no longer be here any longer, and we will not be inviting them in. We have our men rebuilding the walls already, but there can never be too many strong hands about to help with that! Jiyyd, our men are strong, we have always been one with the land, and work it like no other men!

Again, I'm not telling anyone to do anything, but I will ask. This is not for Norwick, or me, this is for you, and all of us. I will be toiling alongside you, and here for you as I have been before. I am still a Legionnaire, and this is another way we can fight! Help me to do these things, help yourselves prosper again, and we will stay strong! Anyone who wants to Volunteer, come to me, and I'll give you an assignment! Men who want to work the walls, I'll give strength blessings to, from Meilikki. Anyone working in the fields to get rid of the dead crops, I'll give you a blessing of Light. If anyone is sick, or hurt, bring them to me for healing, and I'll do all I can! Let's do all we can to keep this place running, while we work on bringing back the light, fighting back the enemy, and reclaiming our homes!_

Jerrick stays around to give the blessings he mentioned, and let people play with Fayt who wish to, who sits calmly and just makes himself unobtrusive. With a page in his journal, he takes down names, gives assignments to those who wish them, and thanks everyone for their help who offer.

One large bellied half-orc was among the crowd, murmuring after Jerrick's departure

"Oi, have ya huuuumies thought that dem mights bes spy, coming to yar fine town to snoop out new constructions, while giving out helpin hand, eh? Soon, ya may see that them very walls where huuuumie has helped, may suddendly crumble before dem outlanders swarm allowing them to pour through, eh?"

  • Jerrick returns a couple days later after the speech, bandaged lightly but cleaned up, not looking for pity of his condition.

_For those of you that wondered my intent, and I don't blame you, I have news.

The supply depot that N'jast had been housing near these lands has been destroyed by our Legion, and we fought back the forces that came after us for it, destroying more armatures, and suffering only one casualty in the scuffle!

This however, is going to make those outsiders angry.

I will be at the wall, for those of you brave enough to help build it, because yes, I am here in Norwick, helping this town. And YES, I am a Legionnaire, and YES, I am a Druid. Yes, I was Kara's fiance, and if that's a reason to sit on your asses and not defend your families, then by all means, warm a rock.

The rest of you He takes the time to look each one willing in the eyes I'll see you at that wall. We have no time for those who won't step up and defend themselves._

Jerrick doesn't stick around for comments or questions this time, but simply grabs the nearest load of supplies, and starts trucking towards the construction.

  • _Most of the Jiyydians listen at first, seeing a familiar face. As the speech goes on however some in the crowd get rowdier and more aggitated. The mood sours upon revelations that he now works for the Norwick government, with one Jiyydian claiming him a coward hiding behind Jiyyd and the "neutral" Norwick while his Legion brothers and sisters fight. Another lets forth a cry that he is the lover of the betrayer, of the woman that burnt their fields and killed their folks, that he can't be trusted. When the forces formerly upon Sam's Hill are referred to as "strangers" many in the crowd boo, angry at what they percieve as deception. Others claim they want proof that the enemy won't be guarding walls they help to build.

Still, while there is a vocal minority in the audiance extremely negative to Jerrick's speech there are some more positive at the end, coming to him to offer to help remove the dead crops. Few, if any, seem to take up the offer to help build the wall though. For the most part, the majority of the Jiyddians listen rather stoically, not shouting him down but not seeming to find much comfort or cares from the druid._

Dilinus Gest heared the call from Jerrick and gladly offers his help in anyway he cans. He will speak to the refugees from time to time and offer them food and blessings from Lathander. As a recruit of Norwick's Militia he patrols the south and will also stop by the graveyard and get rid of the rotten there. He also gladly offers his help to built up the northern gate.

    And also hear these words:
You shall not let the darkness which felt over Norwick taint your hearts, all of you should remember there is always another dawn and beauty reigns in it. Do not loose your hopes and look forward to better times.
