A notice for debate concerning Norwick and Peltarch
-
Devlin scans over the document, and walks away shaking his head.
"No way in hell would I'd ever be apart of those provisions…"
-
"Hmmnn…" Dondiah scans over the notice and taps at her full bottom lip for a moment before making an appointment to see Dwin.
-
Sela reads the notice and breathes a heavy sigh…. "As if we didn't have enough trouble rising in the South….." she's heard to mutter as she goes off and polishes her armor…
-
Zeldor is seen reading the posted proposal and shaking his head. After reading it, he goes next to the hall and prays to Mielikki, the forest queen for guidance then returns to the place he feels safest… the forest
-
Kresha wrinkles her nose and sniffs in annoyance
Sewer systems never did anything for the farkin' jewel that's fer sure…
she goes on about her business
-
_Adrian, on one of his visits to Norwick, can be heard commenting on the proposal.
"Ah, it's certainly an interesting suggestion. It would certainly bring a greater unity to the land. It seems that Norwick is almost constantly threatened by destruction, and it may provide more security and safety for the people here.
The people here have certainly endured great difficulties, yet maintained a certain level of prosperity. But the constant threats certainly do drain Norwick's rescources. With Peltarch's rescources to aid in the defense of the town, more could be spared for needed developments. I doubt many would argue the town could benefit greatly from a working sewer system or so.
And the strengthened bonds between the settlements would certainly improve trade, allowing for greater prosperity for all.It is not my decision to make, though I think the people here should put their sense of independence in the scale against greater unity and prosperity. Those who stand alone truly are alone, after all._
-
The former Senator (and indeed author of the previous proposed alliance), Eowiel Senella can be heard scoffing at the proposal;
"I told them nothing like this would ever be acceptable, or even well received…"
-
Wren reads the treaty and scratches her head.
_"Treaty of Alliance? This is a treaty of ANNEXATION. It makes Norwick a Peltarch colony. I suppose there's something to be said for that idea, but calling it an 'alliance' is so much hot air.
"I seem to recall a REAL treaty of alliance was offered a few years back, with trade provisions, extradition, military cooperation, territorial guarantees, and the like. Seems to me it failed in the Senate.
"Pity, it was a good treaty and we were all in favor of it… come back when you want us to sign that one."_
-
Upon seeing the notice in Norwick, Rhistin can be overheard by those nearby.
Treaty, my arse ! They's gonna come down and walk all over us
She then heads off to find Dwin.
-
Chaevre can be heard saying
Peltarch wants to lawfully declare martial law on Norwick?
she reads the sign several times again
hrm, yep that about sums it up.
-
Mord reads through the notice and stands for awhile contemplating it. Eventually a thin hard smile crosses his face and he heads for the chancellors office
-
appended to the note is a smaller, official note
Should any citizens of the realm wish to discuss this proposal, please make an appointment with the Chancellor himself.
