Quiet in the Pass

  • As the Nars Pass becomes a bit safer, the Norwick Red Cloaks and more often the Norwick Scouts are seen traveling further north.. perhaps out of boredom or just wanderlust.

It is not uncommon to see several Red cloaks or scouts chatting idly with their Romani peers at the camp site set up south of the bridge. Romani wine is traded for Dwarven Hold ale, and sometimes Gypsy arrows for more Dwarven beer.

  • The Camp gates are more and more heavily guarded
People entering the gates are asked for citizenship papers and those who present papers from Norwick are turned away.
Even those that try to sneak in under invisibility spells are caught and turned away, thanks to the talented mages that now grace the Warrior colors.

  • The great Tower is nearing completion, and more and more the Warriors are seen carrying supplies in as well as regular patrols in the Pass.

If any one asks, they answer that they are there to keep the travelers along the Pass safe. They'll also politely ask for donations to help pay for the new protections. If turned down, they will all smile and bow elegantly. If a donation is given, the same smile along with a thank you is gifted to the donor.

  • One of the taller, fair-skinned Gypsy Warriors south of the Bridge is anxious to return home after an extended tour of guard duty. He seems uninterested in trade for Ale, instead taking the time to gather up his kit. An Oak Longbow, light traveling pack, and an Ancient Elven Longsword. He prepares for the return journey with haste, cloaked and hooded against the harsh elements.

  • While the Warriors really don't have a lot to say to the Redcloaks or the Scouts, they do tend to business. Construction on a guard tower in the Pass has begun, trees are cleared, earth is being moved. The hard way. with axes and shovels.

  • A short time after, the familiar teal of the Defenders can be seen verging out on patrols into the Ridge area more often. The brown leathers of Far Scouts occasionally, and a bit more for those with sharp eyes, can be seen more often observing and patrolling even farther south towards the Shrine of the Unnamed Soldier.
