A storm upon the realm...
-
_Even for recent times this was a tempest, lightning spearing down from a blackened sky, sheets of rain like shards of glass, and the eerie, looming shape of the tree Irmunsul seeming to blot out the sun in the southwestern Rawlins.
A green-blue glow gathered strength from the location of the druid glenn… sounds of battle were heard in the town.
And then the howling started, and has not stopped since...
Harsh weather continues to scourge the woods and sometimes the town, as if the sky is trying to wash away the earth. Animals in town are skittish and sometimes vicious or overeager.
And the forest seems to have become full of animals.... big, angry, vicious animals. Those who venture out speak of huge dire animals decimating the remaining tainted goblins, and anyone else they find. Some even talk about huge scaly lizard-beasts.
Several hunters go out anyway, and do not return._

*Seige engines are kept in order near the south gates and regular Malitia patrols go outside the walls but not far out of site of town. *
-
Rumor has it that Dwin, Aramuil and Belia encountered some dire gophers in the woods; many farmers in Norwick seem to be watching their crops with a wary eye now.
-
Rush who was with growt during the run to the druids glen had this to say:
"nothing like a good run with a giant lizard at your back to get the blood pumping! Was fun!" laughs like a gnoll
-
With the storm building, Vic's seen to visit the library of Spellweaver Keep. Those who find him there see him with his nose in books about the Elven language.
-
A pair of Hin (Marty and Pedro) Were seen hauling a ssackcontaining teh remains of a mighty Halforc hunter (Groxxo) who was mauled to death by a direbear. On her way back through Norwick, the muscular female Hin (Marty) tried to spread the word in town that the Woods were best avoided by all, and that the dire beasts should not be hunted. She adds some blah about the balance of nature and the taint and other such stuff.
-
The guards speak of Growt and a few others who made a run to the Druids glenn. They say they were lucky to make it there alive.
-
Jerrick adds to the writing in Elven as well, just in case.
-
A de-furred hide appears to be lashed to a tree just south of the town, and written on in black ink, in what some will recognize as Oreth's handwriting.
_The Forest awakens, and seeks to purify itself.
It is not safe for travellers.
Venture past this point at your own risk

As is the custom in harsh weather or dangerous times, the Great Hall is opened to any realm citizens (or travelers) that would like to stay there.
Extra provisions are laid out at one end of the Hall, and the Chancellor himself checks on any families that choose to stay there.
Dwin and his advisers can be seen high on a hill over the town watching south and trying to ascertain any details they can about what is happening near that damned big tree.
