Valen Silvermoon

    Character Name: Valen Silvermoon
    ā€“-----------------------------------------
Note: This is a level 1 rebuild of an old Narf character I used to play, so most of this 'History' covers his (un)eventful life in Narfell. Its pretty much a point by point outline of the highlights of his story, so don't expect any work of art; I'll save them for Tales By The Fire. šŸ˜„

Born in the city of Highmoon and serving in both the guard and with the city's woodland scouts, he speaks Chondathan, Common and Elvish (Given the large number of elves and half-elves living in the city it made good sense to pick up the language). Valen fled when his commanding officer got wind of the fact that he was taking bribes from smugglers to let their illegal goods through gaps in patrols.

He boarded the first ship leaving the docks and some weeks later found himself on the coastline of the Easting Reach, south of the Rawlinswood. Joining a trade caravan heading north, he soon found himself in Norwick where he decided to stay for a time.

After some weeks skulking about Norwick and generally keeping a low profile, Valen was present at a commotion in the Boarshead. The Banite priest Ashan Nottiams had stopped in for a drink. Whilst the rest of the inn was running around like headless chickens looking for the militia or any suitable heroes, Valen decided to see what all the fuss was about and sat down to have a drink with the imposing figure.

Over the next few years Valen was paid a lot of gold to act as the Banite's eyes and ears in and around Narfell and joined the Alliance Free Swords, captained by Tolcrack Landreaper but ultimately under the control of Vashere, whilst persuing his role as a Banite lackey.

Then everything went pear-shaped. The Alliance was starting to crumble, the people of Narfell not taking kindly to the army being amassed within their boarders. Whilst out on patrol, Valen had the misfortune of running into an Eastlander's trained hound which brooked no time in tearing his throat out. His body was left to rot out in the Nars for weeks.

Then the Banite brought him back, and the relationship soured somewhat. Having been resurrected by Ashan Nottiams, Valen was beholden to the mad priest and his dark god. He wasn't at all happy about this, least of all because the money stopped flowing his way.

Valen distanced himself from the priest and his allies and found refuge with what was left of the Alliance; just a handful of stragglers after Vashere's departure. It was around this time that the Alliance earned the enmity of the Eastlanders, and regularly found themselves fighting over territory; the main focal points being the Giantspire Valley and what would become Sam's Hill. During this period Valen was a member of the raid on the 'Bandit Mines' which was responsible for capturing Barron Alburn. Keeping Barron as their prisoner only caused the Eastlanders' fury to grow. They would stage regular raids on the Alliance Arms Inn and they expanded their presence in the Nars Pass.

The day of the prominent Alliance member Bruno Galpen's wedding, to be held in the Bardic Theatre of Peltarch, Valen was ambushed en route, cut down by a number of Eastlander officers. His body was recovered and brought to the Temple of Tyr in Peltarch, but there was nothing the High Priestess could do for him. His spirit didn't wish to, or was prevented from, returning.

That was the last anyone in Narfell had seen of Valen Silvermoon...
