//MS PAINT FTW
//Intelligence 12 and up: It's a hammer with a spring loaded spike inside.
//Intelligence 11 and down: It's a hammer with stuff inside.
along with the main diagram of the hammer are sketches various components of of trap kits
There's a scribbled out sketch of a trap with demon horns chasing Benji near the top left corner of the diagram//notes written in a mix of gnomish and common
Steel
//there are a few other metals listed, but they are crossed out.//all parts are checked off other than the spike and the spring.
-Cost of parts-
Main body, cover: 1500.
150 for leather belts and spring plate.
Metal Spike: Salvage from a trap kit (cost 11+) or request quote from Union.Reminder: Buy thicker gloves. Trap kits have many sharp pieces.
There's a scribbled out doodle of him chasing a goblin around with it on the bottom left corner of the diagram.
SUCCESS! The hammer is complete! Now, I'll just need a few things to test it on.
It seems the arming mechanism will not keep in place. The hammer often fires after being left armed for long periods of time.
Reminder: Don't leave hammer armed.

Benji's second attempt at a commercial invention
Some notes are written here before the diagram.
_Now look Mr./Mrs. (client's name here). I know you're tired of having to go back to your temple to buy more holy water every time you have to cure a disease or smite a demon. With my new invention you won't have to!
Look! It's easy to use. Just fill it up with some water. Any kind will do. Then bless it right here with your magic. (point to tank)
Push down this part here and BLAMO! Your average big nasty Balor's face is melting because he just got sprayed with holy water! Astounding I know!

//Written totally in gnomish.
This will show those those tallies what's what. Let's see them try to make me climb a shelf once this thing is done.
I might even be able to sell these around the Silver Valley.
near the bottom is a scribbled out drawing of Benji using the Grabber to rescue a cat in a tree for a gnomish princess

notes written entirely in gnomish
It hit me today. A huge box of these things. Good thing they're not sharp… but if they were.
I bought the whole box. Even got a discount since the notes they play aren't labeled.
Tuning forks they're called. They vibrate making pure notes. I bet a big one of these would be noisy.
a few calculations follow
What note should it play?
Talked to Lycka in Norwick today. She gave me a good note to base the weapon's design on. She says she even killed three goblins with it once.
note scratched on the side to make ear plugs
She hummed the note for me and we managed to match it with one of the tuning forks. The fork resonated with her note.
a few more calculations follow
The note the weapon will play is the same as the tuning fork, but lower by one octave.
It is nearly three and a half times the size of the tuning fork it is based on. I estimate the sound's strength will be at least three times as loud.
It will be as sharp as a razor and as loud as a …
makes a note to come up with something cleverThose jerks at the Norwick fire won't be able to ignore me this time!

Genius!
It came to me returning from some foolish trip north with Dietrick.
What animal has the sharpest weapon? A penguin! I guess they use their beaks for chopping ice or whatever penguins do when they're not using their beaks to chase and stab me.
Their beaks are sharp as a finely tuned steel dagger. I don't have money to waste shooting finely tuned steel daggers out of my crossbow so I'll shoot penguin beaks.
I should have thought to bring one back! Maybe I can gather an expedition north again.
1. Will beak bolt fly straight?
2. Will the beak bolt fly far?
3. Can I manage to kill a rabid penguin alone?1. Test balance of a penguin's beak
2. Test weight of a penguin's beak
3. No. (Gather group. No penguin huggers.)
