Thok

(( My first painstakingly constructed background. ))
(( Character name: Thok ))
(( Narfell username: bitemytentacles ))
Thok was not a product of rape. His orc father was a druid in the wilderness surrounding his birthplace, a hamlet of no bearing. His mother was a herbalist. Sadly, Thok cannot recall anything from early childhood, for as soon as he was discovered, his mother was executed. Thok's fate would've been the same if his father hadn't intervened, calling up entangling roots and sending animals to harass the mob.
In the wilderness with his father, Thok came of age to understand and remember. Thok developed a respect for nature. He would gather things for his father, was taught to hunt, and told stories of his mother and their union.
But his father wanted his only son to have a fate other than being alone in nature for his short life. Thok was quite reluctant about the idea of leaving his father and only friend, but came to see the wisdom in this.
His father anonymously gave him up to a martial school, where Thok's first real encounters with hate and violence would come.
The tutors could give an ogre lessons on how to be harsh, and his fellow students were a threat to his life at times. His multitude of scars would be developed here.
Thok succeeded in every training and test, but praise is never given to half-orcs. His tutors broke him into the mindset that the only way a half-orc could live was as a savage, brutal killer. Thok became incredibly violent, and started to retaliate harshly when the other students would threaten him, severely injuring his peers. This behavior was what garnered the praise of the tutors, and Thok began to believe that this was the only way he would make it in the world.
In one of his final sparring matches before graduation, Thok was so overcome with violence in his mind he killed his sparring partner.
And the tutors praised him.
But Thok had never taken a human life.
And Thok did not want praise for this.
When Thok was admitted out, he didn't know where to go or what to do. But he did know what he was not going to do.
He was not going to become a monster.
Thok picked a direction and started walking, hoping to find a good cause to put his newfound violence to.
