Player Name: Lanakai
PC Name: Emilka Ver'mar_Let me introduce myself, my name is Emilka Ver’mar. I am from a land called Rashemen. I’ll assume most have not been there so I will first tell you briefly of my home. It is a cold and mountainous land in the northeast part of Faerun, east of Narfell. A land of fierce warriors and ruled by witches. The witch’s magic is used to help and defend our people. I was raised in Urling, a town that borders the forest of Urlingwood. This forest is where many of the witches live and worship.
My mother was a powerful Othlor, a witch of some status, and my father was a Veremyinn, a male with arcane powers. My mother was a native of Rashemen, but my father was not. He was from Aglarond, a country to the southwest of Rashemen. They met when my mother was on her Dajemma. A Dajemma is a year long journey that the young from Rashemen go on to study and learn about other cultures. We believe this journey is one of up most importance, we learn the good and bad of other cultures so we may strengthen our own. During this time my mother met my father, fell in love, and he followed her back to Urling.
When I was no more than a few years old, my parents were killed by wizards from Thay. Thay is one of our most hated enemies, their Red Wizards stand for everything that is opposite of our beliefs, their power is abusive, destructive, and self serving.
After the death of my parents I was taken in by my Aunt. She was also a witch like my mother and took it upon herself to help me discover and learn more about my natural talents. Many of my peers studied scrolls and books to learn about their arcane craft, but for me magic came naturally. My ability and understanding of magic grew quickly, my Aunt always there helping me find answers to all my questions. Her guidance in the Weave, Mystra, and life in general helped shape me to who I am today. My family has always had strong ties to our land, most still remain in Urling or in surrounding areas of Rashemen.
I have always felt a loyalty and connection with the land, but that need for more was always there. It is something I have never been able to rid my spirit of, my Aunt says that it’s my father’s side that draws me away from Rashemen. He was always the more adventurous of the two willing to leave behind his home to start a new life here in Rashemen. He had seen many lands before settling down with my mother and that drive to discover the unknown was passed down to me.
I’m still not sure why but one morning a few months ago when I awoke I had this overwhelming feeling that it was time to leave. My planned Dejemma was not for another year, but with my Aunts blessing I left early. The first caravan to leave Urling was heading west towards the land of Narfell so I left to start my Dejemma.
