Dietrick lie upon his bed one night within the barracks, thinking.
_Is making progress, everyday they make us run, carry things sometimes. Spar with each others. Run more. Then feed us when time comes, sometimes late, but always have food.

Life so different. No live this befores, everyday life like control, no choose. When say "run" run, when say "carry" carry, when say "clean" clean. Even when time to sleep, say can "sleep" then sleep. Is it worth it? become someone's? and someone want sumthing. Is training us protect village. Is what must give back.

But Dietrick noes, is price pay to be strunger, fer da strength in battle, fer power. If want be great warrior, must dos this. Already feel strunger. The run's and clean is all easy, back in village run around mountain jump over river, so run and jump in training is so easy, no pant much.

But is the continue control of what must do, that make mind no easy. Each time feel good though, after it end. Each night feel strunger in mind, each time finish training, means win battle, in mind. Mind stronger, heart stronger, is stronger, cause in battle, not about strength, but about fighting spirit and heart. No always face enemy of same strength, when fight enemy of greater strength, is about focus to beat enemy, about no fear of him in heart, is how true warrior fight.

Think back, no think is bad afterall. Have food, have home. Much better than wander around kill enemy that wander in nars and scavenge too. Now have something, dignity. Belong to army, have reason to fight for. No just warrior that just fight for fight, but warrior fight to protect something.

Norwick, is nice. Like look at farm animal run around, feel like village. But nicer, hut no hole in roof, water no come in when rain. Nice food too, and pritty clothes. Have many people with ability no sees before, like Celestria, noes how bless with god magik, torm.

Heart somehow tell is place to be. Can feel become stronger, and something in heart, something that make Dietrick feel good when in Norwick, make Dietrick feel like stay here long, make Dietrick want protect. See villager walk around, milk cow, beat metal, feel like… home.

Feel can learn too, have many great honor warrior. Like Commander Mord, eye look like have see death befurs. Hand look like have kill before, is warrior true.

Hear of Maya. Everyun around nars say she strung, follow Tempus. Tempus is god, mean powerful man. Tempus great warrior, fight well. Tempus love battle, think and believe what Dietrick believe, battle is about fighting with heart , with honor. Dietrick want follow and fight in Tempus army, is honor. People tell Dietrick should talk to Maya. No see Maya yet, maybe someday will, need ask how join Tempus army._

War have come to Norwick. Feel excited, cause can fight many battle, many worthy enemy to fight. Is chance pit strength and test meself. Is what Mord recruit Dietrick for, and what Celestria, Ivor and the other guardsman train Dietrick and other recruit for.

Dietrick look around. Have friend kresha, mentor Devlin, Maya, Mord and others. But no recruit, Dietrick only recruit there, in war. Not sure if can fight, hear is strung flying demon. Lucky Dietrick no just stay in Norwick train wit Dummy, noe a warrior is born frum fight real battle, nut with dummy. Dietrick have good friends, Telli, Hignar, Kelinar, Thorn. They bring Dietrick many place, fight many battle, so Dietrick a bit expericened.

Maybe die, but no care, just want fight glory, and fight well, hope Tempus see and smile.

We walk, to east. Big army, have other group too, sheverash tribe, legion, knights too. Funny demon wit wing fly down, in our big rank, we march on. They fly and come nearer, we march on. No move back. Then sword clash. Dietrick blood start to rush. Swing sword, hit away sword, try cut demon as demon try same. Sometimes friend at side cut Dietrick enemy, sometimes Dietrick cut enemy in frunt of friend.

Mord leave, need to command guard at town. Maya is lieutenant, she lead now. Dietrick respect Maya, is honor and respectful warrior, and serve in Tempus army too. Dietrick march beside her, is honor fight beside her.

Is tough, we fight to deep east. Kill many of strung elite gobbers, all corrupt, look like shite. Maybe dey eat too much shite? haha

Barricate block. Minotaur run out. Kill, kill and kill. Fight hard, we push through.

We near cave. Bears on two leg in armur walk to us. Some look at them with frown, Dietrick put sword between. They killing enemy, think is friend. Yah, is friend, leader Tomek say come help.

Finally reach cave open. Pritty woman with nice wing and big sword come out. One have hole on body, other help her walk. They talk, sumthing bout da pact, and say demon try break pact. No noes what they saying anyway. But heart feel pain for them, cause they say one die. Is pritty, Dietrick no like dey die. They fly away.

Skinny woman in black come out. Army surround, but no one charge. Every look at her with hateful eye. Most are quiet, but Dietrick feel hearts burn. This woman must be baddie. They call her Dark Enchantress. She talks, and some of us talks to her. Half man say nice word, and she leave.

Tomek say guard our back, da cave open while we go in. Militia think want go in or not. Mord no around. Aramuil say go in. But militia no listen, say Maya is guard lieutenant and Mord say listen to Maya. Dietrick no think listen too, tink only warrior fit order other warrior, only warrior know what fighting is. Maya say go in, we goes.

Inside darker, narrow. Enemy strunger, bull head on two leg charge, we fight through them. Gobber wiggla cast strung magik, make ice drop, black long thing come out of ground tangle people and sting them. Dietrick small, so can run through long black things, cut wiggla head offs.

Long battles, fight long inside. Poor Aramuil, he die. We try pick body and things.

Then cave shake. Everyun start worry. Wonder where enemy is, fear cave drop on us too. Dietrick no wants die like dat, no honor. Want die in battle. Fear for norwick too.

Everyone nervous. Every no noes what to do. Cave shake more. Everyone look each other, everyone wait someone to lead.

No wait help at all. Dietrick try advice Maya, tell militia retreat out. Maya agree, do thats.

Militia start move out. One army go, other follow too. Dietrick plan wurk, many in war just follow, and want someun lead, when number go, rest will follow,

We move out of cave, Tomek still guard exit fer us. Militia march back, rest start each march in own direction.

Hear Kara, mecizq, knights still in cave. Many wonder why. Some say they try be hero.

Tomek bid us bye. Dietrick feel sad , respect him alots, Tomek fight to help, brother all die, only him left, and he going back alones. Dietrick wonder if Tomek will live, hope he live, he have honor and is true warrior.

Tomek exchange word with Dietrick, we thum chest as sign of respect. Dietrick respect him fer warrior and help, Tomek respect and believe Dietrick when Dietrick say he gud warrior and respect, and when say Dietrick want be as gud as him and duel him someday. Feel so much honor der, but heart no noes if really see Tomek again. But is like this, this is life of warrior, even when maybe lose and die, must go back to battle, to fight.

We walk back Norwick south. Sky all smoke in south west. Bugbear home ruin. Dietrick wish Tomek best in heart.

Dietrick tell Maya she is great warrior, hope mebe someday be as gud as her.

Maya laugh, say if I as big as her, maybe.

Dietrick hurt. Maya is warrior, but no understand warrior, laugh at Dietrick for being small. Dietrick angry, is insult to honor, like elder at home village, want Dietrick beat metal in village and no go fight, no think Dietrick can fight.

Dietrick angry, talk back to Maya, tell her fighting nut bout' strength or size, but about heart, heart to be fearless in battle. And tell Maya one day, will be as gud as her and duel her. Not noes if can do that, but Dietrick is warrior. Warrior must protect honor, honor of warrior, is highest thing, more precious than life.

Dietrick go back home norwick, see Telli. Talk to Telli. Feel betta, war over. Maybe go on adventure, when Telli ask.
