A Beginning: Recruit Derin Blackmoor

  • Derin pulled his cloak more tightly around him to fend off the cold night. The light from Selune's Tears trickled down on the sloping ground ahead, and in the dim light he could see two shadows in the woods below him moving cautiously through the trees.

He cupped a hand to his ear and strained to hear the muffled voices, but the howl of the wind over the hill disguised their words. No matter, he thought to himself. They're goblins, sure enough. He waited for them to shuffle into the dark of the wood, then crept back himself. He would report to the colonel in the morning. Perhaps a complement of recruits could return and root them out of their hold in the forest.

He turned to make for town and froze. Not five paces ahead was a wolf, teeth bared, waiting, growling. Slowly, with his hand closing on his sword, he crouched low to the ground. The wolf stepped closer, its eyes a ghostly silver in the moonlight.

Derin, ever watchful servant of Helm, waited for his moment to come.

((Thank you Darkspyr for welcoming me to the server and the Norwick Militia. I'm looking forward to all that the post entails! See you all in game.))

  • Mord stands on the hills and looks over the gates tothe south. Always there was some worries with the new recruits, some never understood the ever changing threats around town and in the wilds. Finally he shrugs and turns back to inform Devlin and Cyrian of the fresh recruit they have to train.

When Derin arrives back at the barracks he is told to report to Senior Guardsman Devlin for new trainning.

((Thanks for jumping in. You may want to move any future post into the trainning thread here. As we add, promote, lose trainees, it is easier to keep up with it all. If you see Devlin Desario, Cyrian Loreweaver or any of the other guardsman in the wiki, feel free to get to know your future comrades. And above all, enjoy))
