Norwick Rebuilding

Keira delivers a small sack of coin to Lucidious in the great hall as the percentage of the sales from the auction. Lucidious is rumoured to be happy.
-
Dwin and a few of the dwarves from the Hold's Smithy show up in town with a cart. On the cart are planks of pine and maple ((about 50 of each, need to count the PS)) and some other crafting equipment on loan from the Hold.
Tis easier if we can cut boards right here than have to lug the logs all over creation!
((dont know if its possible to get a wood saw placed outside the crafting hall temporarily….))
-
*A few days later, Z is seen bringing in another load of oak boards ((378)).
As soon as he arrives, he unloads the wood, takes out a hammer, and continues to work on rebuilding the Norwick craft hall.*
-
For the first time in a long time, Ginger Tealeaf returned to Norwick. She was seen helping Z rebuild the craft hall.
In a completely unrelated observation, Norwickers may notice the emergence of wildflowers on the hill where Vino's campfire used to be.

@5453b8053f=RoundHere:
Word spreads that a group of individuals led by militiawoman Corana spent several days chopping down wood in the Rawlins and hauling it to the town hall to be used for rebuilding. Estimates about the number of logs ranged from 900 to over 1000. Regardless of the true final count, there is now an ample supply of lumber available for reconstruction projects.
Z helps Norwick rebuild any way he can, but now spends the majority of his time helping to rebuild the craft hall as quicky as possible.
Rebuilding the hall is the key to a quick recovery. We can make tools, cut boards, craft weapons and armor for the defense, and so on.
I mean, Pete had ta go all the way up ta Jiyyd just ta craft hatchets for this trip. It's a waste of time and energy.
Rebuildin' the hall should be a top priority…
*That said, after helping gather deadwood for the town reconstruction effort, Z went north with Pete to gather some oak to rebuild the craft hall.
A day or so later, Z returned pulling a cart loaded with many oak boards and beams ((318)). He unloaded the lumber near the old craft hall site and continued his work on its reconstruction.

_Lilin is seen meeting with the Chancellor and then a few weeks later, returning with a cheerful Romani girl and the pair check a spot near Calendel's aid station
Rumor has it that Romani will be setting up a trading post in the city soon, to provide a general store to the needy citizenry_

Zoma could be heard in a grumpy mood upon hearing Horbag's announcement.
"Drats….I get to be the food taster again in another of Horbie's experimental cooking. Undead meat! Can you imagine!? Sigh At least I'm eating something... thats dead this time. Last time I had that K'maris tentac- ::Shakes his head:: Nevermind.

Hunters and woodsmen traveling in the Rawlins have been reporting an eerie feeling of late of being watched. Periodically movement will be heard near them though no one seems to be about. The goblins are seemingly restless about something and are often seen in bands mumbling about something in the woods. What exactly is unclear. Quite a number of deer that have been killed have almost immediately risen back as zombies and attacked the hunters. Several other types of game have been reported having a similar affect. No one as yet has ventured into trying the meat from said creatures.

_Ragnhild is often seen assisting her fellow Guardians in their work to aid the citizens of Norwick, of course adding her own personal favourite way of lifting people's spirits by making sure there's an ample supply of ale. Often accompanied by her two girls Lycka and Asha, Ragnhild distributes food and ale alike to any in need, her sunny demeanor perhaps spreading a little bit of well needed joy to the townsfolk.
She also seeks out Lucidius and Dwin, bearing rolled-up parchments and a choice few bottles of fine wine and ale._

Gulir can be seen limping around Norwick drinking with one hand and his axe in the other. Any time he spots the ghost of Frago he points and laughs.
-
_When time permits from escorting the caravans back and forth, the grizzled old Guardian known as Yarchum Ammathwood is regularly seen tending the sick and the wounded, sharing blessings of Arvoreen to all who accept them and generally supporting both physical and mental well-being of the lackluster inhabitants of Norwick.
Tiredness sometimes seems to almost take over the old halfling, but somehow he just keeps getting new energy to extend his help to those who most desperately need it._
"Arvoreen provides", is the most often heard answer when people offer him their thanks.
-
_As time goes by, a series of consistent chain of caravan and wagons with the Guardian insignia can be seen entering Norwick to drop off food supplies before returning its journey back to Jiyyd.
Several Guardian members are then seen busy distributing food to the people of Norwick who moved in, priotising the sick and children first and then to the adults and the militia.
Curiously, the parcels and crates of food supplies has a "R&B"(Rats & Bats) restaurant logo franchise stamped over it._
"Hot stuffs," One Norwicken could be heard commenting on the food while wiping and rubbing his teary eyes and nose. "…either I'll be able to drink a lake dry after finishing this bat wing, or dance around naked in the coldstone mountain to turn it indecently naked from its snow toppings."
-
After a small caravan including a huge clay golem, various humans and gnomes, and a few cartloads of books enters the Keep, a small number of large earth elementals are presented by Keeper Genzir to the construction crews, along with offers of Translation spells for the workers to use to communicate with the elementals.
-
Maya can be seen routinely in Norwick, helping with general manual labors. Occasionally, Maya has a little Elven girl in tow who answers to the name “Yana”
-
In recent days, Corana has been accompanied by a man that some may recognize as Shido. While she patrols the town and looks after the workers and their security, she sends her assistant Shido off to aid the workers in their manual labor - anything from running supplies to lifting logs and stones. She will occassionally assist him with a strength spell for particularly difficult lifting, but for the most part, she simply barks orders at him as she passes by. Whenever he appears ready to reply to her commands, she simply raises an index finger to her mouth to silence him and continues on her patrols.

At night, thick banks of fog move into Norwick obscuring vision to only several feet. The fog clings to everything with a deep bone chill. Guards huddle around fires whenever possible and whisper about figures moving in the fog. People seem to stay in their tents whenever possible instead of braving the fog. Periodically people are heard complaining about tripping for apparently no reason as if their foot was grabbed only to find bare earth while other tell tales of the feeling of 'hands' brushing against them in the fog only to turn to find no one there. Campfires don't seem to be as warm or bright anymore and night cooking seems to take longer as if the very heat of the fires is diminished somehow. A certain unease prevails at night but nothing seemingly out of place in the mornings is reassuring to some.

_With corpses properly buried or put to fire and most of the rubble removed from town, workers now focus on repairs to the inner walls and the north gate. Tents have popped up all around town, some belonging to workers from the dwarven hold while others shelter townsfolk waiting for their homes to be rebuilt. Norwick guard are busy about town, not only working as peace keepers and defenders, but also doing what they can to help in the reconstruction effort. Thankfully, groups in legion colors seem to be patrolling the rawlins while norwick focuses on rebuilding.
Even while work to repair the walls goes on, every building still standing in town seems to be going though a review by a team of dwarves lead by Dwin and Calendel. Some buildings are left to be rebuilt later, though most are marked to be torn down in hopes the lumber can be salvaged for use in other projects.
Overall, the town now has a tightly knit community feel to it. Each day, the entire town goes to work, most able bodies doing heavy labor, guard duty and hunting. Cooking for all the workers and townsfolk is a huge chore, going on from dusk till dawn. Hunters bring back fresh kills to be slow cooked over one of the the many cookfires in town for hours. Meaty stews are worked up in other pots with added potatoes, onions and whatever fresh vegetables can be brought in that week form jiyyd's farmers market. Loaves of bread are carted in daily from the dwarven hold, as well as a constant stream of alekegs that seem to go empty before midday even rolls around. Often norwick supply runners manage to pull from the extra stores from great hall in the evenings, returning with a keg of dolvak stout or a few crates of the chancellor's wine to go around with supper.
At the end of each day the chancellor emerges from his office to review the expenses, sometimes sending runners to the dwarf hold or jiyyd to deliver change orders or to make payment agreements. Those who manage to catch a glimpse of the chancellor can see plainly he is still full of worry with the costs being as high as they are and no relief in sight. Regardless, work continues in norwick and progress is being made._
