    Katrina was born in Shade Enclave, an ancient Netherese floating city in the Annorach desert. She was a servant of the theurge Tanthul, and expected to serve him for her entire life. The Tanthul took pity on the servant and decided to teach her a few clerical cantrips of Shar. Katrina was an able learner, and caught on quickly, so Rivalen taught her more and more. Eventually, her learning brought her to the attention of Shar, the Night Mistrress herself. Shar gave Katrina a disc of Shar, enchanted by the Night Mistress herself. Shar spoke to Katrina through the disc and directed her along her lifes journey. Rivalen, enraged that Shar gave KLatrina the gift instead oif him, tried to murder Katrina as she slept. Awakened only at the last second by a buzzing of her disc, Katrina pulled out a magical hand-and-a-half sword that she had been enchanting under the night sky. She struck Rivalen in the his shoulder, nearly severing the limb, but he cast a quick spell and the sword turned into shadow and slipped through her grasp. He then slashed her with the sacrificial dagger, giving her a deep cut from her collarbone to her spleen. Katrina, knowing the Tanthul outmatched her, muttered a spell that he had taught her a day earlier,transportation. She cast it and tried to make her destination Waterdeep, a place she had heard wonders about, but her spell failed and she ended up in Icewind Dale. She quickley found a house she liked, so she waited outside until the owner show'd up. As he looked her over, she walked over and offered him to Shar. Now that she had a house, she could contemplate her situation in peace.
    She lived in Targos for three years, buying up cheap weapons and enchanting them in Shars name and selling them to make a profit. One day as she walked into her stolen house, she noticed a man watching her from the shadows. She walkewd over to him, and without breaking stride, she pulled out her latest invention, a battleaxe that could send enough electricity into a target to make him virtually explode. She bashed his bodu until it was little more than a heap of gore, then checked for a signet ring, or some other object that would show her his intentions. Finding a disc of Shar in is coat pocket, she decided that Targos was no longer a safe haven. She consulted Shar, the first time in three years, and was told to go to Memnon, and from there go to Calimsham and visit the Sharran cult there.
    When she arrived in Calimport, she found a weapons dealer. Since no longer owning a weapons buisness, she was unarmed so she bought up a rapier. While she walked to the cult meeting place, she noticed a shade walking through the crowds paralell to her. Never shying away from a fight, and being oblivious to the four other shades following her, she executed the first shade with a quick slash of her sword. The other shadesd caught her before she even knew what was happening.
    They took her before their leader, Rivelan, who then banished her to Narfell, and stripped her of her clerical powers, severing the tie between her and Shar.
    Feeling weak and helpless, Katrina walked out of Calimport, she was stopped by a traveler who was dressen in a black shirt and purple pantaloons. She asked who he was, and he answered, "Do you not know? Take a guess." and a pearly white smile flashed beneath his cowl. "Shar is that you?" Katrina asked.
    "Yes foolish girl! Now no more questions! I will speak and you will nod or shake your head!"
    Shar gave Katrina a new disc, and her clerical powers back, but only at a meager magnatude to the ones she lost. She named Katrina Nightbringer, a holy compliment from a Sharran, it meant, one who brings Shar's darkness wherever she goes. Katrina, very happy now asked to do Shar's bidding. Shar told her to go to Narfell and visit her shrine in Oscura, and become the Dark Mother there. It would be a hard thing to do, starting fresh and all. But Katrina did this, once arriving in Jiyyd, she asked around about a road to Oscura . . . . . . .. RP to find out the rest.
