Account name: MewingLoki
Character name: Lomir ChedwentIf you have not yet encountered the eloquent Lomir Chedwent, you soon will. Here lies a bit of his past so that not all is cloaked in mystery.
Raised in an unmarked, and thus unimportant little plot of forest somewhere to the west of the lands of Narfell, Lomir Chedwent hardly has grandiose beginnings. As a young elfling he walked about the forest he called home learning to sing as the birds, speak as the wind, and travel the land as the waters in the river snaking its way through the trees. As he grew, so did his abilities and talent. So much so in fact that when a troupe of minstrels happened to pass through the trees one rare afternoon singing and speaking and carrying on much like he enjoyed, his curiosity got the best of him and he leapt from his favorite tree for the last time.
You see, young Lomir very quickly took a liking to the group of bards and wished to learn what they could offer and share the adventures they recounted to him. Recognizing his willing heart, they took him in and Lomir left his forest. With time, he memorized many of the legends passed down between generations as well as a share of poetry and music. A quick study, he also learned to play several musical instruments to compliment his storytelling, or ballad writing. Naturally he picked up on the skills of several of the bards and chose to specialize in not one specifically but instead become educated in all…a Jack of all trades. Furthermore, in his journeys with the bards he became acquainted with several mythical beasts and items adding to his collection of fantastic knowledge and tales.
All was not to be merry and bright forever however for the Lomir and the troupe, one night a band of thieves happened upon the troupe and its belongings. The bards were awakened as the thieves attempted to open locks and disable the minor traps lid upon the containers. Imediately the thieves took advantage of the bards who were trying to stumble from thier sleep and several were killed without drawing little more than their breath to cry out. Lomir and a few of the other bards including a scald were inside of the wagon at the time and were not taken quite so much by surprise. As the scald began to play his haunting melody of despair and mounring for the friends already lost, the thieves were visibly disheartened and began to fight with half the accuaracy and ferocity as before. Lomir, having never really wielded a weapon (never having needed to), flailed at an approaching thief desperately and was surprised as a flash of light leapt from his hand and sizzled near the eyes of the thief. Needless to say, the bards and their arts quickly turned the tide but with heavy losses.
The band was forced to disband but a year later having exhausted all of its funds since it could not perform as well short so many numbers. Destined to go their separate ways the bards split up. Lomir headed for the land of Narfell, little more than a rumour to one who had spent his early years in a secluded forest. He seeks to journey with the heros and even villains of the land to experience their deeds firsthand so as to expand his library of tales. While he cannot always hold his own against a horde of orcs, the fame he can win one in the taverns and mead halls can certainly earn him his keep.(Look for Lomir in the commonwealth as well as any of the taverns. He seeks to accompany Narfell's adventurers aiding them more in company and morale then necessarily combat prowess. He does however have several talents, dabbling in several tricks of the trade so as to make him many times indispensable to have around. Also all who allow him to accompany them will find him but a short time later recounting the adventure to all of the tavern patrons and willing listeners. He has a knack for making his frequent embellishments seem plausible winning fame for all those he travels with.)
