:: Herald Thril makes his way onto the steps following the conclusion of the senate meeting, and flanked with Guards and those Senators who wished to remain for the announcements ::

People of Peltarch, our times are often hard, often profitable and always secure, and sometimes glorious in our fair jewel. I present to you know the proceedings of the last gathering of our Senate.

    Law and Order….

The appointment of a second magistrate to support the work of Magistrate Barrim proceeds apace, with expectations on a suitable candidate expected soon.

From this day forth there will be a new law applied around Peltarch territory and within the city. As decided by our senators and outlined by our legal staff this law stands until further notice.

"Until the current strange magical problems are solved all use of spell-like powers, powers of sound, and innate abilities, potions, and blessings from the gods be outlawed under a temporary senatorial decree unless life is immediately unde threat or employed by a member of the city employ. Employ: Senators, Aides, Ceruleans, Defenders, Far Scouts, Magistrates or Inquisitors."
"Employees are not immune from prosecution under this law but are expected to show wisdom and restraint in its use."
"Proposal that each offender be fined in the first instance even if no strange effect occurs, and jailed if they persist or cause harm to property or person within the city."
"As usual the law should apply within 1 league (1-map area) of the city, but those folk who are fighting the enemies of the city within or around the city should be exempt from prosecution."
"Only in the case of immediate life-threatening injuries are healing magics to be employed in a temple or in the other areas of the city proper"
"Fines and punishments to be determined by the Guard or Ceruleans subject to the usual limits on fines 150gp for guard or ceruleans, including imprisonment for short periods"
"Further punishement or transgressions of the laws as a result of wild magic shall be pursued to the limits of the statute."

    Construction…

New temples are planned in and around the city, with only details of construction and plans still to be seen by the senate. Once this has been finalised those of Sharess and Gond will subject to final negotiations have a place of their own in Peltarch.

The old city walls of Peltarch shall be built anew, and following consultation with the stonemasons of the city the city will be ever the more safe than the already mighty walls once more.

The defenders, your loyal army of the city will swell its ranks again by another hundred at least, with their protection felt far beyond the city walls of our great jewel.

Exploration of new lands and prosperity are the order of the day citizens, and soon new opportunities and tales of exploration by the wise and brave shall flow among the streets the names of those responsible long remembered. The far north shall be explored, and ships shall cross in ever increasing numbers.

Our allies shall be remembered also and the simple bonds of words will soon be solidified into formal relations and negotiations with all those who will listen to the words of Peltarch no matter where they are from or how they appear to our eyes. Only prosperity and the safety of all races are assured with these efforts citizens.

Our crafting hall will still remain the province of all, and the crafters union will not be permitted to develop within our establishment.

    Other Matters…

The ceruleans our fine magical protectors, will be offered the chance as voted by the senate to come within the officialdom and leadership directly within the Peltarch Military, with the full resources of the city behind them.

The senate has spoken citizens, with your voice, for they are elected by the people from within the people. The dictators and authoritys strange and mundane of other lands do not hold councel here… you do citizens. Those who by their carelessness or will do do harm to the city or its servants or citizens will not be allowed to proceed with their plans, and the ranks of the defenders will see to it that the security and light of the city shines out across the land.

Your senators come from among you , and some stand before you now... their hard work is without equal.

The guildmasters of the Stonemasons Guild have been heard late into the night drinking and celebrating with all the wall building expected to come their way.

Some are seen on occassion in the senate hall looking for the senator who will be overseeing this project with bundles of old papers carried in their hands.
