  • To all curious or interested in the events leading up to my escape from the walls of Peltarch.

A crime was commited as a guard swung to assult an unarmed citizen of the city of peltarch, outside the city walls.

As a group of loyal friend and I approached the gates of Peltarch the gates were closed and the guards were to the side as they normally are.

I approached and opened the gate. The guard claims the gate was locked, but there was no such lock placed on the gate as simple turn of the mechanism allowed the doors to be swung open. I can theorize that the guard inteded the gate to be locked, but perhaps forgot to turn the key, But the guard made no effort to state that the gates were to be locked. All seemed normal to me.

The guard asked if I thought him an idiot. I calmly stated no sir. I am a citizen of peltarch.

He let my companions past into the city as normal, but wanted to hold me for questioning. As I saw no crime in what I did, I calmly stood my ground to answer his question, and to ask why he was so angry.

It did not make sense to me that a guard would demand me to follow him to a cell so I asked for a reason to his demands he provided none except to threaten to knock me out.

That would be a crime to assault an unarmed citizen and he proceeded to try.

Seeing that he was a guard of the city, I fled south.

If the purpose of closing the gates was to keep people out until authorized, the guard succeded. I never entered the city when he gave the order to halt.

The crime would be tresspassing if I did enter, but seeing as I had not entered, calmy stood my ground asking for clarification when he demanded to take me to a cell with no just cause.

  • Kara Willendt shakes her head. "No lock? Of course there are locks on the gate, how else are we to keep them shut when enemies lay siege to our city?"

((BTW, if this is meant to be handed out in Jiyyd as the subject says, then this thread should be moved to the Jiyyd forum.))

  • _Pete the guard refuses to comment upon the accusations made toward him, instead he tells people he has explained himself to his superiors and that should be quite enough.

Those that know ol' Pete, will notice that he isn't sighted at his usual posts, apparently he has taken a few days, to get away from the looks and interrogating questions of passers by._

  • Mirkali smirks a bit, shaking his head reading the draft. He takes a drink of ale Then he chuckles to his the fans that accompany him at The Ferret or The Mermaid in drinking ever since his donation.

Sheesh, guess Pete didn't know that the justice system was broken. I mean, First I was kept for 10 1/2 months in jail without trial, or being visited by the Magistrate that ordered me jailed, and now Pete was to be thrown in jail by a moody guardsman. Ah…. good ol' Peltarch.

Mirkali smirks sarcasticly, but spreads a big grin, yelling "Jivio", which is his word for cheers, and mugs clink, followed by drinking and joking for the rest of the eve.
