Jiyyd Rumors

  • ….. a slightly injured but wide-eyed human clad in a silver and black armor stumbles through the gates. Mumbling first something about a new more well trained Hobgoblin fighting with two swords, then he tells a tale of a seemingly agitated HUGE orc wanting a mate from within the city walls of Jiyyd.... After not getting any willingly the HUGE orc callinghimself Grok seemed to take the matter in his own hands launching an attack on Jiyyd with vast numbers of orc's. After the attack wich was held of by brave Jiyyd'ians all the women were counted and to the brave defenders liking none was missing...

((thank you both Herrold and Maythor, had great fun))

  • The observant of Jiyyd may notice Vroka's slightly improved demeanour following the retrieval of a delivery of healing supplies waylaid by bandits.

All of the Sisterhood who went to investigate the missing goods returned unharmed.

  • Rumor quickly spreads of Sy'wyn walking into Jiyyd from the direction of Ormpur his cloak wrapped tight and hood low, dark from some liquid. No one is quite sure what happened, but he settled on the archers tower later, and stripped his cloak, showing himself to be covered in blood, and with four large scars across the right side of his face. Rumors quickly fly about what happened, though Sy only commented about ten or more packleaders, and seemed dazed. He was later seen stumbling towards the Silver Valley dragging his battered and blood soaked armor and cloak behind him, muttering about to much blood.

  • The latest rumour going around Jiyyd is that a loud and obnoxious dwarven musician was picking on smallfolk outside the Regal Whore. She took a few (drunken?) swings at displaced gypsy camp refugee, Gears. Suddenly, halfling scout Ginger Tealeaf walked up and gave the dwarf two quick punches to the kidneys, dropping her. The fight was over in seconds. The gnomes stood in shocked silence, the hins snickered, and the dwarf lay passed out under the setting sun.

  • A small group of people, consisting out of four members of the Sisterhood and some others, is seen taking a cow out of one of the stables and leading her out into the pass, obviously with the intention of taking the cow to Peltarch. When asked about it, it seems that the muscular, red-haired woman owns the cow and wanted it transfered.

The Magistrate is glad as ever to speak with Arandor, and he makes it known to him that he thinks that the unwelcome occupiers of the camp should be removed before they become as numerous as the Eastlander Bandits were. He asks Arandor to call at the city soon, and he shall do his best to see if Peltarch can assist them once the Defenders are ready.

"Only fitting to return the assistance offered to the city in their war against the Eastlanders with offers of help in your coming battles." - he remarks.

  • _::On one such visit to Jiyyd by the Magistrate, Arandor makes himself known. He doesn't claim to hold any authority over the Rom anymore… Nonetheless he speaks of being named an Elder among them by Horgan himself, in the years before his death and the final days of the camp. He tells Barrim that 'Cera' is the only remaining Elder, next to himself...::

::Arandor also makes it known that on his frequent visits to the camp, he makes sure the welcoming fires are re-lit in rememberance and honor of the fallen.::_

The Magistrate Barrim from Peltarch has been seen asking around Jiyyd just who holds authority over the Gypsy camp, as he heard that many folk from there fled to Jiyyd when the Gnolls took over their camp.

He is seen to offer his regret that the welcoming fires of the gyps camp no longer light up that community, as well as concern for the destruction of that wild place caused by long Gnoll occupation.

  • A darkish-skinned woman with a silver hair, wearing a white robe has been seen frequenting the campfire and sometimes drinking wine in the tavern. She arrived one night not too long ago, looking weary and carrying all her possessions in a backpack. She is now 30-ish, still has a pleasant look about her, and looks to be in a very good physical shape. Some of the Jiyyd residents remember her from about eight years ago, when she was a silly young woman and wore Legion colours. In the few converstations the locals have had with her, she's made it clear she is no longer in the Legion, but still makes every effort in keeping Jiyyd safe.

A much more serious and collected feel to her, she has mentioned that her travelling days are over, and now she wants to settle down, to make this her home again.

  • Stories spread about Pete Rione Refusing arrest outside the gates of peltarch, as his accuser, one of the guards could not accuse him of a crime, after Pete opened the gates for his friends.

The guard swong his axe at pete, as pete easily dodged and ran south. The guards need more training if they intend to defend the city.

Pete can be found in Jiyyd for any that wish to hear his case on the hot headed guard, but pete will not spend a year in a cell just to be aquited.

((OOC note: while NWN requires that a player retaliate against an attack, Pete would not punch a guard and as such, that is to be ignored as if it never happened.))

  • Amith has been seen wandering through Jiyyd in all sorts of odd hours when she is not wandering the Pass or Orc plains searching for her husband and son. When asked she says they were due back from a trip a month ago.

  • Rumor has it that Penny, when not focused on the Eastlander war, can be seen wandering around aimlessly with a look on her face as though she were fighting some internal horror. Those who know her well might fear that she is destabilizing again. Rumor also has it that her erratic behavior seems to have begun sometime after her recent soulbonding.

  • As days go by, there appears to be a gradual shift in Meril's demeanor. He is often absent for far, far longer than is usual, returning exausted and spent. He appears to be searching for something or someone, with a look of concern bordering on, in his worse moments, desperation. When not absent in his searching, he is rumoured to have spent most of his time skirmishing in the frontlines of the Eastlander conflict.

  • After numerous days of being seen hauling ore, lumber, and meat into the Legion hall, Sy'wyn is seen stumbling through the gates, thin and pale after the push that got the Defenders into the pass. Limping his way by, quite a few would see small tears to the back of his cloak, and a number of char marks on his armor, and his face looking to have been burned. He was seen almost collapsing into the Legion hall, and has not been seen since.

Bah.. thar' be more than one dashin' dwarf in da bunch ye numbknot'

  • Some crafters re-entered town with some common folks and their ox-lead caravan of goods. The carts were piled high with sacks of copper ore, and the oxen were clearly not happy with what they had assumed would be an easy day of carting home-goods to and fro Ormpur.

The Crafters, lead by one dashing dwarf in silver armor, seemed only mildly concerned with the fact that they were saving Grag's hide with almost 200 large rocks full of copper ore.

Once they unloaded their goods, they started discussing the scene in Ormpur, and the night they spent with the merchants held up in a barn. It seems that once again the inhabitants of Ormpur have disappeared, and left nothing to show for themselves but some still-warm puddles of blood.

While inside the barn throughout the night, they were surrounded and had to defend themselves against what sounded like a large pack of wolves. On several occassions the 'canines' broke through the walls, but they were held back. No one ever saw enough of one to identify them as worg, whitewolf, or even werewolves.

By the next morning, they were left in peace…all that remained was the bloodstained ground, several tufts of fur, and a barn that was barely standing.

Travellers heading east to Ormpur should do so with great care.

  • A bard was seen telling a tale of Chaevre the dark enchantress in Jiyyd today… whether or not this tale had any truth remains to be seen... but it was no doubt a good story.
