Who is this Half-elf Ranger in Norwick?

Through the Southern gates of Norwick ran a half-elven man, closely pursued by a small band of goblins. Bleeding profusely and out of breath the man collapsed by the fire in front of a small group gathered there. Quickly provided necessary healing by one of the healers, the man told a tale of a large number of goblins increasing in size within the Rawlingswood. Slipping into unconsciousness the man commented "I am Serin, I have no home, but these woods need me here….. aaaggghh....". Nothing more was said as his weakened body fell into a peaceful sleep and was carried off to the Friar's.
Rumours have since spread through the commoners of the town, questions such as "Who is this person?", "What brought him here?", "Does death and suffering follow him to Norwick or peace and prosperity?". Adventurers and the like don't appear concerned with his presence other than a slight concern they may have to share their glory one day.
One Ranger that resides in Norwick is said to have identified this stranger as a fellow Ranger. One she has hunted with in the woods. A man of internal strength and integrity unseen in these parts in a very long time… A child orphaned at a young age raised by a human widow. A cabin in the woods his only world for most of his young life. A calling it was said came to him one night. An unbearable urge to set out and find his past that had long been forgotten. This journey has brought him here she said, to Narfell, where it is said he will find his past and the land will never again be the same.
Aye, but this is all just rumour.... or is there some truth to it?
Spend some time in Norwick, and you may just find out for yourself if the town has been blessed or cursed by this strangers arrival.
