Jiyyd Rumors

  • The people who currently live in the tower are a little perturbed by this, especially as they thought they already lived there by grace of the Keep. These include the Fool and the Professor of Linguistics.

  • Many who are familiar with the Emerald Circle Tower notice that is is empty of all it furnishings. Apprentice mages along with Headmistress of Spellweaver Keep Arien Ashald are seen measuring rooms and preparing to have furnishing shipped from the Keep. It seems Spellweaver has claimed ownership of the tower.

  • Anyone who isn't blind (sorry fool) eyes clearly report the actions of the past day; the crops are razed, buildings blackened, and some citizens having horrible memories of a big sandy hot place.

The rumors regarding these occurances point to a very large red scaley lizard whose name rhymes with lass swooping down and turning jiyyd into one huge stove.

  • _With the attack of the previous tenday, and the fires having been snuffed out, Kara has been seen spending quite a few nights around the silver valley, settling for watching the sky and enjoying the warmth of fenberry pie from the beguiling wares. She seems to be enjoying the brief respite, going as far to shed her armour and slide into a black dress.

Her shoulders in particular seem bruised from the encounter with the eastland army though. Anyone approaching her is offered a slice of pie._

  • The townsfolk talk about the tremors coming from the mountains these days. Several platoons of frost giants have been spotted by adventurers and merchants travelling to Ormpur. Many suspect that they are about to wage war with Ormpur, considering they have been spotted there many times. The townsfolk of Ormpur have been rumored to been taking to living in the nearby caves for protection.

  • Rumor spreads about known Banites, Li and Nickolai, entering Jiyyd after hearing a dyer had set up shop. Personally escorted out of the gates by Nicahh, the two wondered around outside, the completely foolish one, Nickolai, hurling insults at citizens of Jiyyd. Some say after a short conversation, in what most believe to be infernal, Nicahh promptly gave Nickolai a decent beating, then proceeded to walk him into the pass before coming back to Jiyyd looking throughly pissed.

  • Not so long ago, orcs attacked Jiyyd and were after a long and tedious fight driven back into their plains. There was a heated argument, though, about who is responsible for letting a big orc come inside and slay two of the defenders, while others were in the plains delivering a fatal blow to the back lines of the orcs.

  • Rumors fly of a Cult to the east of Jiyyd hidding somewhere on the road to Ormpur. The dark Cult was rummored to be followers of Valshroon summoning dark undead creatures. Some people point at a man who is burned from head to toe horribly, and murmmer about him being a sacrifice. The stoic man pays no head to them as he sits beside his normal tree in front of the Barn.

  • Rumor has it that Legion Recruit Samus Swift was heard cursing while chasing papers strewn about by a particularly gusty breeze.

One of these papers supposedly had some poorly written poetic phrases and other parts that looked to be hastily scratched out.

Some folk think he may have had one to many bottles of Red Army Ale.

  • Citizens around Jiyyd gossip for hours after a very strong force of Legion troops, many druids from the Circle, a gaggle of bards, a pack of Wolves, and others gather on the commons, sharpening blades and packing gear.

After spending a great deal of coin in town on healing supplies, arrows, food, and especially drink, they all head out the west gate towards some great unknown enterprise.

Rumors circulate that an army of frost giants were about to attack Jiyyd as light tremors were felt, followed by a fairly massive earthquake, but nothing seems to happen, and the army of various persons is forgotten until they come back, much worn, burned, drowned, ruffled and smashed, days later, carting an alarming number of dead and injured warriors and known personalities.

Over a breakfast of eggs and spam hamwiches, the survivors tell tall tales about scores of superpowered crystal elemental Guardians and a terrible underground battle, but many speculate that such a tale seems exaggerated.

One thing is clear….the road around the Nars is indeed devoid of the curious but very nasty rocks that have been eating passers-by stupid enough to touch them, and Norwick seems to have gone very much back to normal.

Citizens and Councilpersons alike seem to breathe a bit easier that this strange and hard to define threat seems to have gone away and a crudely scrawled sign appears on Jiyyd's gates allowing for the return of those stricken by Crystal influence, and those in the small army that ventured out gates a week back get yelled at for leaving bits of junk and ration wrappers and busted canteens laying around.

Several Legion soldiers, long missing from the ranks, can be seen, dressing down new Legion recruits.

Yes, things seem, at least temporarily, back to normal in rustic Jiyyd.

  • Rumors spread about a paladin hin named Merum fought a drunk in the gates of Jiyyd. Both were severly wounded but it is said that Merum had lost the fight.

  • Celdir Nemilador can be seen leaving Jiyyd, through the gates to the east. He seems sad, and won't return for many months, to be certain. Rumours say that he is heading back to Waterdeep…

  • A great fair was held at the old Alliance Arms Inn. Following an archery competition, a cage fight and a battle game came the largest auction in years. Many thousands of gold changed hands, all in favor to auctionmaster Nico Black, of course.

  • "I've never seen anythin' like it in me life." Bob lifts his mug to his lips and takes a sip. "I was just outta my place for my morning ale.."

"And an orc strolls right through the gates! One of the huge ones - 'destroya' is what Grag calls 'em."

"Walks right in, past the Legionnaires and the watch…" Bob takes another big gulp. "Goes on in to the store and buys some food from Kurt!!"

"An' then, an' I think this is the best part - 'e goes an leans against the well an' sits down to have a little picnic! By this time, there's a crowd jus' starin' at 'em.

Someone asked 'em what race 'e was an' 'e said 'half-orc' and they all believed 'em!

Then 'e jus' got up and left the gates." Bob is on his fifth or sixth ale and it is only noon. "I know it ain't safe living 'round orcs... but..." And he drains the mug, calling for another. He looks at it for a moment, wondering if it something in the water.

  • The redhead, known as Zed, Cee or Red, spreads the tale of how some black evil people snuck into Jiyyd and apparently tried to steal some sword but how they didn't like each other. And General Grag didn't like either and just chopped them to pieces and then the blond priestess talked with one of the half people and it answered and it spoke even though he was dead. And then there was many, many, really lots more of the dead and they came walking upon Jiyyd and they charged them and broke them to small pieces and then ghosts stepped forth out of that bone dust and they looked terrible but that was when the sun rose and tore the ghosts apart and their screaming was terrible and it still rings in her ears.

  • Many mornings, the dawn rises over the plains revealing semicircles of orcish dead. Most look to have been killed by single arrows protruding from skulls, necks, and eyesockets. On more than one orcish forehead are carved elvish words of curse.

  • _After a talking in the commons Wog can be seen walking off to the Leigon halls, tears streaming down his armor and hasnt been seen since

Those nearby say that something bought upon the talking of love and this remeinded him of his failed relationships. He said that love was overrated and that all it casues is heartache before leaving_

  • Rumours travel across Jiyyd of an alliance between the Legion and the Collective, though these may not be entirely true.

  • Belade can often be seen just west of Jiyyd, practicing with her new greatsword. She takes care not to do this too close to the road, and stops if any curious people come too close, not wanting to risk hitting them. Those who speak elven, can hear her pray or sing to Sune, and may very well be surprised by the words.

    <e>For Sune's love I wield this sword
For Sune's beauty I hold the line
With her passion I smite the wicked
And in their blood her face does shine

Those who don't know elven just hear elven singing, though they might be able to make out that it has something to do with Sune

Any hobgoblins who stray too close are quickly taking care of, her greatsword chopping off body parts left and right.</e>

  • After some tearful goodbyes, the druid/witch Raisa returned home to Rashemen after receiving a visit from a young Rashemi woman. Explanations were short.

((TG break. Back Sunday. Enjoy your turkey, tofurkey, and/or hufu!! ))
