Where are all the Oscura players?
-
yeah no entries in Kuks dungeon contest, so if any of you people want to see something for Oscura your welcome to try and help out.
as for where am I, busy on the surface ruling the powerful mages guild, and gaining political recognition in peltarch

Aren't we just waiting for the graveyard and various other areas to be filled. I was under the impression that more dungeons were coming…
I think the dungeons have to be made first. The last dungeon contest had, I think, no entries.

Drelan Ashire can be seen around Oscura until he gets bored and wanders off. Wouldn't mind being pmed to see if he wanted to come to Oscura to increase the chance of running into each other for some rp. There are oscuran players but at least when I've been on they tend to wander away from Oscura because no one else around. Other Oscurans normally do log in but by that time the others that were there have wandered into some event or rp action elsewhere. But dont' give up. The things that happen in Oscura do tend to be fun =).

And while it's cool that there are some hunting grounds that are only accessible to citizens and those accompanied by them, grounds that anyone can access create a lot more incidental traffic, as people will wander over to check them out on their own, and run into an oscuran. The example of the gypsy camp with its spider woods (accessable to all) and cold caves (accessable only to Gali) comes to mind. The spider woods generated more random traffic, while the caves brought more pre-assembled adventuring groups through, and to really have a living settlement, you kindof need both.

even the hunting grounds that tend to draw people are before you get to the city gates so people just bypass it
There's an idea. Put some good whackin' BEHIND the city…
Jiyyd has wolves behind it.
Norwick has goblins behind it.
Peltarch has kobolds (and ogres and giants) and cats to either side, so you have to pass through.Passing through would generate some traffic.
That, and having all the basic necessities there. When you have to leave to get food and healers' kits and the like, it's kind of a pain to have to, again, walk all the way back.

You can PM me when you are in Oscura. I have been spending more time in there as of late, but I tend to play late at night (after midnight EST). Generally I can convince a couple people to come visit me there and we end up sitting around telling stories in the Wailing Banshee. For the most part you -have- to PM people to get them down there. Oscura is not a city that is on the way to anywhere; even the hunting grounds that tend to draw people are before you get to the city gates so people just bypass it.
And this message is for anybody, if I am not deep into some RP, I am more than happy to come to Oscura just to hang out.

Oh come come… Oscura's in the darkness... where people don't like to be seen... you're just not looking hard enough
-
Unlike most towns, Oscura rarely has 'sitters'. The Oscurans will likely be out on adventures or they'll be logged out. Your best bet is to make a list of the Oscuran characters and see if any are around in the player list.

Enzo is there somewhat frequently… he often meditates near the well or reads in the library. Whats you char name that you play there?
-
A lot of the people who play chacaters down in Oscura are players that tend to drift around, so I've seen it go through days of emptiness followed by huge activity.

All the goodie two-shoes on the server are too scared to go there.
