The Interview

"Greetings, and a pleasure, I am Aeyl Razor."

    "Oh the horns.."

    smiles
    "Yes they are real."

"Yes it was hard to deal with growing up."

"Thank you, that's very insightful of you, however most people react to them with sayings such as; 'Why haven't you cut them off?' Or 'How did you come accross such a horrible curse?' things like that."

"I don't mind comments like that, I'm very congenial."

"What I find most interesting however, is the heritage that these horns on my head represent. I would be more than happy to discuss their magical nature if you're interested."

    Furrows his brow
"Are you sure you want to know?"

"Admittedly, most people don't think to ask about my childhood."

"You are somewhat unique in that regard."

"This is a tale I've not often told, so it may take a momment to get it out properly."

"Well, as I'm sure you may be able to tell from my mannerisms and speech, I was born into a noble household far south of here."

    smiles
"Don't worry, you won't recognize the heraldry. I've since changed my name, and no amount of asking will have me telling you to which house I once belonged."

"Like most people, my family couldn't handle the horns on my head. My early childhood was normal. I had play time, and lots of simple childhood wealth lavished upon me. As the third son to a noble household, the expectations on me were little. I had free run of the home and a good section of the countryside. It wasn't until my fifth year that the horns started to show themselves. Things changed dramatically for me then. I was quickly given a magical necklace which hides them from my head so that no one else would ask questions. Despite the disguise however my family began to treat me differently. I was, to put it nicely, cast aside and ignored. They still allowed me to live with them, and payed for a modest life style, but I was no longer given the luxuries I once had. So I tried to impress my family. To show my worth you could say. I began to study hard and the local accademy and became the learned man you see before you."

"Those years are not so interesting. I didn't learn to accept, nay appreciate my disfigurement, until I was around the age of 15. It was then that my powers first showed. I could use magic. I know now as a sorceror. At the time however it was quite profound and astonishing. I quickly redirected the nature of my studies towards magic and sorceror bloodlines and the like. It seemed there hadn't been one in my family line for 9 generations. So I had no family member to show me the ropes. I practiced with the talents I had uncovered day and night, until I had grown accustomed to them. However I found that the school I was at could teach me no more about the origins of these strange powers, or the horns which seem to hint at those origins."

"It was then, that I approached my Grandfather. Lord of the district at that time. I removed my disguise for the first time in front of the head of the family, and I explained my situation to him. I told him that I had no hate for this family, despite the less than hospitable attitude they've taken towards my unique situation. I expressed to him my genuine desire to travel to the academies of the world trying to uncover the secrets of my blood, his blood. We talked for quite some time he and I. I believe I impressed upon him that I was not a threat, and a good and dedicated man."

"And so, he and I came to an agreement. I would leave our lands, and our name behind, so that my travels did not reflect in any way upon their noble standing. In return, the family would pay my tuitions into any school I found which may shed some light on the strange heritage I have inherited. Also I was given a small flow of funds to pay for room and board. However any indulgences along the way were to come from my own earnings."

"I felt this was a very fair deal. As I did not want to hamper them in any way, but also felt it was in their interests as well as my own to better understand why I am the way I am. So. I have travelled ever Northward, and now find myself in the kingdom of Narfell. Where I am told many good schools can be found. Icluding a school for arcane spellcasters of all sorts. I am very pleased, and intend to read every book I can find on the subject of sorcery. If they allow it I also plan to probe the minds of each and every wizard in the area."

"Perhaps I'll find what I'm searching for. If not, I'm sure I'll learn a lot along the way."

"Hmmm. Oh, no I have not worn the disguise since. I'm quite proud of the conversations that these horns have begun."

"Now that's what I enjoy talking about. Some of my research points to the posibility of Dragons blood being the source. Though I have no idea how it would have gotten into my families bloodline. Some lines of study indicated the involvment of the Fey, others point to curses or gifts from various different deities. To tell the truth I'm not sure where it came from."

"All I know for certain is that Ihave horns upon my head, and am a sorceror. Though I also know, it is dreadful cold up here. The merchant wagon I came with was most kind to sell me these fur boots, cloak, and gloves, but even those warm shreds seem unfit to make me comfortable."

"Ahh well, what price do we pay for knowledge."

"Oh you have to go… hmm too bad."

    smiles
"Have a wonderful day traveller. Thank you so much for the conversation. May you find what it is you seek."

Goes back to reading an old book.

((OOC notes to the DM's. I built this character with the intention of eventually becoming a Dragon's Disciple. He will spend the vast majority of his time in the world just reading and conversing with others. Having no interest in adventure or the like. Though if others pull him along he may be found performing his spells to assist those in need. Being that Red Dragon Disciple is the character class available I've decided that he will invariably allways be cold in the snowy north, and will act him out that way. If you have any questions regarding him and his attitudes and my plans for him. Feel free to ask.))
