::New rumours heard in the Mermaid::

  • Rumors fly of a recent, gruesome slaying near the Docks district. The entire west wall post was found dead. All three guards were laying in heaps, lifeless and without a single wound, as if the very life had been sucked out of them.

One of them, in a frightening act of bravery, cut his own arm and drew two letters on the floor beside him in his own blood.

After a combing of the area, another guard was found by the South Gate of the Commerce District, his throat slit open from ear to ear.

One woman reports to have seen a large group of children suddenly becoming visible in the middle of the street and rushing out towards the gates near the docks. A moment later darkness fell on the walls and she panicked and fled.

  • Word spreads that Zyphlin apparently delivered a Very large bag of gold to the Peltarchan Crafting Hall earlier in the day, explaining to the crafters within that the money is to go to getting better equipment and renovations to the crafting hall to make it even more worthy of Peltarch's name. After seeing the large number of coins in the bag the crafters inquired with Zyphlin as to where it came from. He chuckled a bit and smiled before replying

Half of a fine of a prominent Union member. Half is in the city coffers, and I thought the other half should go to a worthy Peltarchan ran facility.

  • A group of young boys was recently found out just North of the Peltarch gates… near the Westfence...

Hjoichi Olsen deftly nabbed two by the ear and Sherrif Drelan hauled several over his should back to the gates where they were told to head straight to their mothers and not to come back less'n they can fend of the Kobold Menace.

  • While discussing Chavre's recent "demonstration" with her in the commons, Clandra was seen to use several spells, apparently on a bench, while having some sort of emotional breakdown over appreciation of her dancing. Talgrath, already in a foul mood, threw up his hands in disgust and stomped off, muttering and grumbling about the knights' behavior; threatening to take his grievances to the senate if Anakore didn't do anything.

  • Rumor has it that Arien Ashald has recently returned from a trip to the Kingdom of Tethyr where she was entertained at the court of King Haedrick the Younger. Word has it she negotiated a trade agreement between the Kingdom's Silk Merchants and the Seafarers. She seems quite proud of herself and is often seen smiling and reading the letters sent to her by the young prince of the kingdom asking for her hand in marriage.

  • Ezachiel states in public that he fully agrees with Chaevre, and, when asked why, starts an hours long speech on the subject of necromancy.

  • Upon hearing of this, Talgrath frowns and wanders out of the inn, grumbling and looking for Anakore with muttered curses under his breath.

  • Zyphlin laughs when he hears it and gives a little smile, shaking his head and speaking with a grin

Chaevre must be an idiot if she honestly thinks she is going to convince people of that. The World over people know that Undead are evil. The creation of them is EVIL. They are a vile menace that bring energies of death and despair into the world that feed off the good of people. I can only imagine what sick and vile reasons the woman would want to try to convince people that this is somehow a good thing. The fact that one of our Knights of the Cerulean Stars is using magic to cause a DISTURBANCE in the commons by scaring people just ot make a point about trying to get people to accept Evil and Vile magic. Just absord.

  • Rumors spread through the commons that the witch Chaevre' was using her evil vile magics to animate dead right in the commons in front of everyone, while the paladins gazed in anger some even retreating to the temple, others just watched in amusement, yet no guard jumped to arrest her. At the end of the demonstration Chaevre' points out that the spells used was a simple cantrip and that peoples Perceptions on the act of animating the dead can be compared to Animating an object, while she was trying to teach the lesser minds that the spell used to Animate dead has its uses, that it is no more evil then the simple cantrip used to make a skull float. . to her dissapointment though the ignorance of the lesser minds shine through and they refused to accept and learn from her demonstration.

Word spreads through the docks that Deacon was caught tied to the sundial in the commons. Some say that he was dressed in woman's clothes, other say that he was making out with Zanetar. People who know the right people, who then know other people, could, with some work, find out that the rumour originates from a small female hin, dressed in black, with her face hidden behind a hood and cowl.

// That is like, weeks ago? O.o.. bit too late?

  • Peltarch Far Scouts

Sierra can be seen chuckling at hearing the news of Deacon.

I hope they didn't forget the pretty pink bows and tha' lip rouge. He looked so pretty when he was trussed up like tha' last time I tied him to tha' dial.

  • To some people's relief rumors flare up about the arrest of the infamous Beshaban priestess Elissa. While people begin to cheer, it seems that she has been cleared of any charges. Obviously the arrest was a mistake or, as a lot of people say behind her back, an accident.

  • Roland is seen leaving the city, though his eccentric gnome advisor is still apparently occupying his Senate quarters.

  • ::Nate Wingates is seen, taking a liking to poking around and searching the darker, shadowy alleys of the docks and commons district. Casting light spells and using them to search for one child in particular with much intent::

  • Sara has been seen, watching some of the kids, taking interest in what they do. Maybe she feels connected to them, being an orphan too?

  • Elissa can be seen taking quite an interest in stories about the little knives. She can be seen speaking and listening interested to all kind of people in the docks, always offering her approach to the avoidance of bad luck, if people are willing to listen.

  • Ocean sighs heavily and heads to the dock district to see what can be done. Cursing herself for not yet having the orphanage up and running, and then cursing Mirkali loudly for never delivering on any of his promises.

  • Chaevre' hears of this group of children and heads off to the Docks to see if she might learn more of them

  • _A band of kids have been terrorizing the streets of Peltarch for the past year. Rumor has it that the Guard was well aware of their presence, but shrugged it off since they were mostly just hassling the homeless and the Guard already had more than they could handle with the other gangs appearing.

Thievery from the orphans of war was expected since they would surely starve if they didn't.

In the past few months however the kids have been organizing and stealing from the more well off citizens of the docks district. They mostly go unnoticed by the commonfolk but whenever one IS caught red-handed, the others appear out of nowhere to their friend's rescue.

They all carry daggers and do not seem shy about brandishing them.

Various reports have been filed now with the Guard to see to this matter. The problem seems to be increasing with time.

People are calling these misfits the "Little Knives."_
