Selarshia Ladoine

Character: Selarshia Ladoine
NWN Acnt Name: jwhitlawThe average-looking elf prefers to be called "Sel," but she will tell you she has a fancy elven name if you really want to hear it. The name is all that she knows from her short time among her own kind. Her earliest memories are set in the slums of Aman, where she lived on the street, squated, and occasionally slept in a run-down inn. A hin 10 years her elder, Lada, looked after her until her arrest and execution in Aman.
As child of the streets, Selarshia was forced to learn the skills necessary to survive, and developed a slippery palm, a quite step, and a quick toung. Sel demonstrated great natural abilities in all these area.
Growing up, Sel rarely mixed with other elves, but rather with hin with whome she usually lived, and dwarves, who she considers good drinking company. Still, Sel never fit in with any particular group. The hin always treated her like an outsider, and the dwarves as something of a novelty. Elves were by far the most exclusionary, however. Having been raised outside elven language and traditions, she is considered extremely uncouth by most elves (and wow do the elves of Narfell fit this description), and an embarassment to the race. Although Sel speaks hin and dwarven fluently, she speaks elven only poorly.
By her 32nd birthday, she had graduated from petty theft to a more profitable line of work: The information business. Sel fled Aman when the authorities sought her arrest for treason: She was caught spying on a Senator (never mind that she had been hired by the Senator's wife).
Sel prides herself on her ability to enter and pass any place undetected. She is feircly independent, and has no friends as of her arrival in Narfell. She is very suspicious of others, but especially hin, who she has much experience with. Still, Sel would be a loyal friend, if ever someone were to gain her trust.
Sel tends to be brash, obnoxious, and sarcastic. She enjoys making sexually demeaning remarks to men of all races.
Sel is deeply suspicious of magic of all types. She refers to priests as "knee jockies," and will only allow a spell to be cast upon her in a pinch, and even then usually only by someone she knows.
Sel has landed landed in Jiyyd, where she feels confident that her troubles in Aman will never reach her. She enjoys the free-wheeling environment of the town, and the fact that Legion members sometimes invite her into their headquarters for ale.s
