3. Westran

Westran

    Character Name: Westran (no last name, he's an abandoned orphan)

    The head priestess of the temple of Bast watched Westran sleep by the fire, surrounded by the sacred cats and smiled. He had been left at the temple steps as a baby, and the temple had provided for him ever since. His mixed heritige, however, had always ensured that the other children avoid him. Elves are not common in Mulhorand, and their offspring
    is not trusted. Where he lost human friends, he found kinship with the cats of the temple.
    He played with them, hunted and fed with them. He climbed trees and creeped around, and he gained their blessed grace. As the years past and Westran grew, he was thought in the ways of the Mother of Cats. And he learned to fight, and fight well.

    The next morning, the priestess called Westran to her quarters.
    "Westran, I have had a vision. Bast has sent me a vision of you in a city, surrounded by a desert of the whitest silk. I believe she wants you to travel there, but I do not know why."
    "Motherrr, do I have to leave the temple? I'm happy herrre. All my frrriends are herrre."
    "I know, Westran. But you will find new friends. The servants of Bast are spread far, and some call Her Sharess, but you will find others."
    "Alrrright then, motherrr. But I will miss you."

    The priestess smiled at that, and for the next few days preperations were made. She knew Westan still had a lot to learn, and that one aspect of Bast, the most popular one amongs the mass, had so far been lost to him. But how can you deny the will of a godess?
    Finally, Westran set off on his journey. Travelling north, until he came to a land of snow. There, he found the city of Peltarch, and believed he had reached his destination. But he wondered why he had come this far. He spent the next few days exploring the city, mostly by rooftop. His skill at climbing had not faded, and he easily made his way around the streets,
    watching the commoners below go about their business. Yes, he already liked this place.
