Rith's Poem Book

  • Live on

_I know you think at times it's harder
    To have some faith
With every beat you're pushed back farther
    Feels like a fruitless chase.

I know you doubt at times if it's worth
    To lift the sails
It just feels like it's so much easier
To stay moored to the berth.

But if you saw a child that's crying
    Starved and cold
Would you just keep your head down sighing
    Or listen to the world?

You, that have the power to give life
You, that have the freedom to make right
You. You must take this beast by its horns.

    Go, live on!
Because failure is the way for life to teach us
    Go, live on!
Because you can't have a future without a past
    Go, live on!
Join the people of the world and make it better.

Life will take you through the laughs
    and also through the tears
Think I could bind my life with yours
now would you bind yours with me?_

  • Yours

_You gift me your smile, you teach me to dream
you give me your star, it's shining tonight
with only a caress I'm lost in this sea
you fill me with peace, I give you my life.

I sail amongst waves of your loving voice
you show me that sky, it's always so blue
robbing my nights with kisses I rejoice
painting my days with colours, only you.

Your body is knit with threads of my desire
Your eyes are sparks, eternal their dawn
Fire born in passion I fought them with fire
yours is my heart, my soul to yours bound.

Now that I'm yours, please nobody save me
for us, the Heavens, know today envy._

//Shakespearean sonnet format. Be flexible when reading, English isn't my native tongue. 🙂

  • Clumsy

    _If I don't say a word
you know what's in my head
you know you are my love
    my passion and my bliss.
    And despite the distance
    that we very much dread
you know you'll be my friend
for as long as we live.

    I'll always have wide open
    the gates to my heart
    I will never be gone
I swear this to my lord.
    Your care can't be undone
    even if we are apart
    you deserve a throne
at the top of my world.

Who will do your fine work
    below my armour plates
with who will I merge fates
who'll bring peace to the dove?
    I stopped opening courts
    as I saw my debates
    each day become sadder
    like my poems of love.

    I never learned to sail
    in favour of the wind
    that nibbles on my spirit
    and keeps pulling my threads.
    Forgive this clumsy girl
    that gazes to the azure
    from a luxury suite
    with two wry empty beds._

//As usual, a lot of metaphor goes on in there. Rith is obviously not having anyone "working" under her plates nor she is writing from a luxury suite with two empty beds. There should be a deeper meaning into many of those verses.

  • Song to a Dark Kitty

_She stopped looking for the light of day
tired of finding just the dark, eternal
she learned to just look at it and pray
and her life became forlorn, hibernal

She grew afraid of prancing through the roads
treacherous paths of this narrow life
little tears refused to rain no more
petals that just withered in her strife

    And anchored in her trench,
    she uncorks another bottle
it's just balms for her pain
    she will remember her…

And I don't want that to be so.

    [chorus]
That Hope and Joy dress themselves in pigments
I have today the colours and abliments
    so I can paint
    your sad days brighter

If your life dresses today in sorrow
then I'll steal from every dawn the colours
    and I will paint
    your grey days brighter
    [/chorus]

In the darkness of her room she lives
she stopped looking for the blue in the skies
I brought candles just so I could see
I won't give up on the blue in her eyes

    And embraced to her knees
    darker are now her sorrows
    looking into her bottle
    she will remember him.
    Between her trembling purring
she just laughed for no reason
    thinking that there's no justice
    she will remember her…

And I don't want that to be so.

    [chorus]
That Hope and Joy dress themselves in pigments
I have today the colours and abliments
    so I can paint
    your sad days brighter

If your life dresses today in sorrow
then I'll steal from every dawn the colours
    and I will paint
    your grey days brighter
    [/chorus]_

  • Love Ephimeral

    _Sometimes I raise
    and float in the nether,
    when nobody sees us
    we are one together.

    Sometimes I tell you
    my silence, my sins,
    sometimes I'm yours,
    and sometimes of the winds.

    Sometimes I use you
    and you don't complain,
    you lend me your wings
    and you stop the rain.

    Sometimes you're part,
    you string my rhapsody,
    sometimes I'm yours
    and sometimes of nobody.

    Sometimes I promise
    that I'm really sorry
    to give you just chapters
    and not the full story.

I shut you in my eyes
    behind open doors,
    sometimes I'm yours
    and sometimes of the world.

    I feel from the core
    of my very senses,
    I fall to desire
    and drink your essences.

    Sometimes I'm greedy,
    don't turn the lights on.
    For right now I'm naked
    of body and soul._

    //Metaphors and more metaphors.

  • We make our path as we walk

_All shall pass and all shall remain,
but in our way as we pass
we scar the world with our story
    and our steps open paths.
    I have never wanted glory
    nor to remain in memory,
I just wish to open paths.
For we are travellers and we must not sulk,
because our life is our story
we make our path as we walk

Long time ago, a man left his land
through the peril and wild territory.
At every obstacle they saw him naught balk
because our life is our story
we make our path as we walk.

Passed him away afar from his home
a distant land honoured his memory
that with his last breath he cried out loud:
"because our life is our story
we make our path as we walk"

When the church bells can toll no more
when the bards have become uninspired
when all seems lost, we must never sulk.
Because our life is our story
we make our path as we walk._

  • Walking through Life

    _There is scent of spring
I can see the animals run
you are invited to come with me
we're all going to watch the Sun.

    I don't need guiding stars
That can lead me to your heart
since yesterday I was drunk of joy
I dropped a trail of bread crumbs.

And this year I ask to heavens
to keep the health of the year before
I don't really need much money
for I have more than enough love.

    Because my life
is a walk of million miles
without stop but with no haste
trying not to make much noise
    I wear just a smile;
with no falter and no fears
I paint colours in the sky
and my crying doesn't hurt me
    so long you don't cry._

  • Tell me a tale

_Tell me the tale of the date palm of the deep jungle,
of the temple of your ancestors.
Give me the rythms of your dances and the secrets
of the hunting books of your mentors.

Tell me the tale of the chains that brought you
of the locks on your weary hands.
Bring me the rythm of the drums and the torches
of your old land and the new land.

Tell me the tale of what was never discovered,
of the green river and of your khan.
Give me the rythm and the charm of your black eyes,
of the rain dance of your shaman.

Contaminate me, but not with the black smoke of war
    that soffocates the air
come, with your eyes and your dances
come, but not with rage and bad wishes
come, with open arms and new chances.
    Contaminate me, mix with me
between my arms you will have a place._

  • The Ivy Grove

_She bid her love farewell, he kneeled, kissed her hand
the beast of doom was seen, the brave elf had to leave
    for the ever greatest hunt.
He swore he would return, and soaked in tears she swore
she would always wait for him in the Ivy Grove.

Thousand moons passed and every one of them
at the Ivy Grove she was.
Many evenings nested in her hair, on her locks
    The insects nibbled her clothes,
    her sadness and her hope.
    And time slipped
and her eyes filled with dawns
and with the Ivy Grove she fell in love
and her body rooted on the ground.

Her hair aged, but no morning or evening
    returned her love.
Her eyes turned grey, her hair green
    rooted in the Ivy Grove.
One afternoon of Mirtul, she was found
they tried to take her home
but no one could root her out.
    They had to leave frustrated
and from the Ivy Grove never ever
    she was separated.

She was left there, alone in oblivion,
She was left there, she never ever moved,
She was left there, with her love the Ivy Grove._

  • Never Time is Lost

_When You are not here the mornings dye with sad songs
like the perfume that for a moment bathes and marks you.
When You don't come the mornings dye with sad songs.
Trace, trail of the errant steps
    of the seeker of signals.

    Never time is lost
it's just one more turn in our illusion eager of oblivion,
    never time is lost.

When you return the mornings raise their flight,
maybe is the moment of the soft breeze
that caresses with your arrival till your departure.
If you are here the mornings dye with happy songs.
    They disguise as smiles
they are the breath that calms the pulse
they are the hand of destiny.
When you return the mornings dye with happy songs.
Trace, trail of my errant quest
that without You I can't find signals.

    Never time is lost.
It's just one more turn in our illusion eager of love,
    never time is lost._

  • Don't Let Go of My Hand

"Why don't we fill our rucksacks
    with laughters and with grace,
    with kisses and caresses
why don't we make our luggage.
Then let's add up our dreams
and let's fly through this world
and let's draw in the sky
as we pass by, the flag of love.
    Let's live always together
and if one of us must leave
    wherever you be going
you will still be going with me.
Don't let go of my hand
    with you everything is right
and I will care for you
so you don't get lost in the night"

  • To Lady Alannia Diams

Memories of a Daughter of the Light

    "Sad had been the night,
Sad were the birds, sad they sang.
    Sad was shining the light
when that morning the Sun rose sad.
So pure soul, so pure heart,
so gentle, so valiant, so fair…
So given to us despite her scars,
so living for us despite her pain.
    I will not praise her
nor her noble deeds, which we know,
nor raise the worth of them
for every and each one, we saw.
    She was guiding light
feared by the darkness that she fought,
    she was high and wise
winning even that last battle, which we lost,
    Gave her soul for us
which was put in Heavens, in its glory
    and although she left us
left us vast inspiration her memory."
