Good anime?

  • Food Wars is my jam. A little too much overt fan service in the female character designs, but the main is neither the typical shonen underdog/idiot nor a mary-sue. Plus since Yakitate Japan! I've been starving for another food related anime.

  • Legion

    Hey, hey!

This topic seems mostly inactive at this point and there are already some really good suggestions here, buuut~ I recently watched an anime called Psycho-Pass that I've been suggesting to people who dig science fiction, so..

    Check it out, it's great!

  • Thanks for all the titles I'll start watching them all ^^

If any of you wanted to know my top picks they would be:

    • one piece
    • shigatsu wa kimi no uso (I think)
    • and grave of the fireflies (movie)

    • Ghost in the Shell,
    • Naruto.

  • I remember from the days I watched Anime, the big hits were Akira and Ninja Scroll. Ghost in the Shell and Trigun kept me interested for a while, though I'm not much of an anime person these days.

If you like manga, I -strongly- recommend Alita Battle Angel and Blade of the Immortal. Also oldschool, but incredible reads, both of them.

For more fantasy-esque themes, Records of Lodoss War was always my favourite. I think it has an anime too, though I always stuck to the manga.

  • I'd go for ~Tower of Druaga~. Two seasons, not as flawless as Cowboy beabop's but good enough. This one made me return to Narfell four years ago since you'll find a D&D adventurers party alike in there.

  • And some classics…

Cowboy Bebop - and even if only for the soundtrack. Seriously, the soundtrack to this show will melt your face.

    Code Geass

    Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

  • Watching Log Horizon right now. It's got a similar setup to SaO int hat they are trapped in a game but they don't really know why so a lot of time is spent figuring out the world.

  • I only have watched DeathNote, One Piece, Bleach and Naruto.

My favourite by far is One piece.

  • Appleseed and it's sequel Appleseed: Ex Machina, Appleseed XIII (I think), the series, loosely designed around the 12 labors of herculese and the Reboot Appleseed Aplha is pretty good.

Also, Psycho Pass, best anime I've watched in a long time.

  • Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin. It's old but it's great. 😛

  • @3cc2ab06af=Aota:

Anything I suggest would be quite dated or something you would likely have already seen as classic.

doubtfully the only older animes I watcher are one piece or that one with main character kenish

  • @1bae763c9a=Mooncandies:

    -Deathnote

I don't like animes at all, but I watched this one back in high school and loved it.

    I recommend.

  • Kill LA kill
    Attack on titan
    Gosick
    Chobits
    Naruto
    Bleach
    Sword art online
    Hunter x hunter
    Hellsing
    Parasite the maxim
Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon

  • Heyo! I recently finished the first season of Attack on Titan. I don't really watch animes but I enjoyed this show. Like Game of Thrones, it has very thin plot armor, so don't get too attached to any character.

  • As an anime enthusiast I'll give you a great list of Anime you may enjoy! This is some of the newer stuff.

GATE: The premise is basically a portal from a fantasy world opens up to modern Japan, and people from a medieval fantasy setting try to invade… only to realize in real life, guns > fantasy shit. So, one unlucky/lucky member whose the main character along with other folks in the military of the Japanese defense force who took some initiative has to end up going to the other side to help establish a foothold.

Monster Musume: Perverted ecchi stuff, but still funny. Basically, monster-people like lamias, harpies, and centaurs come out of hiding and try to integrate with society. One dude ends up by accident getting stuck with the lamia (snake girl), and she falls in love with him... then another girl joins in, and another, and another, and hilarity ensues.

Food Wars: Cooking anime, but really exciting. If you love cooking at all or just a fan of something really hilarious, go for it. This takes 'food porn' to another level (no actual porn in it... things tend to get hot now and then)

Baby Steps: Sports inspirational anime about a very hard working kid who finds love and passion in tennis. Its exciting without having that super eccentric hitting the ball and having it split into 5 pieces while lightning and tornadoes crash against the earth supermove bull shit.

Hajime no Ippo: An amazing boxing anime about a dude who is constantly picked on and bullies by his peers. By chance he meets a professional boxer who decides to help him out. Upon letting him punch a punching bag just to get some frustration out, he sees just how much potential Macconucchi has. From there he starts training and things get awesome from there!

Some other worth mentioning that I enjoy or am enjoying:

    -Spice and Wolf
    -Ruruoni Kenshin
    -Deathnote
    -Kill la Kill
    -Parasyte -the maxim-
    -Jojo's Bizarre Adventures
