Construction on the Nars
-
_A common sight among the workers as the construction continues, Rasuil busies himself in aiding with the sturdy wooden framework and prepping rope rigging's as the structure grows. While he's often found on site early and well into the evening, the small hours find him surveying the surrounding lands themselves, monitoring the effects of the construction on the local wildlife before retreating into his own Den opposite the crossroads.
As the warning shout rings out, he perks his ears back though his only reaction otherwise seems to be busting a gut laughing as the crew scurries about like cockroaches when the lights are turned on. Striding through the ranks after he composes himself once more to give the ogre a once over, nodding with approval._
Well, I did say ta announce ahead o' time, so this 'd go a lil smoother.. heh.. but I guess, no harm no foul, eh?
Waving at the onlooking guards and gesturing to the ogres sack absently
C'mon big fella, stop yer grinnin' an' grab yer linen, this tower ain't gonna erect itself, mm? We'll set ye up o'er 'ere, an' we cin find ye a place where yer talents 'll be best put ta use.
He gestures over his shoulder for Kanoro to follow him as he heads back to one of the workstations scattered about the field, where he helps him to establish himself among the crew before the ranger returns to his own efforts.

to the folks who became combat ready at the sight of the ogre
Relax folks. This one gave himself up. Made a pretty sweet deal so we'd let him live. I'm pretty sure he's mostly harmless.
quietly
Pretty sure. Keep your eyes open though.

_General Theaon tells the Legionnaires helping the Union members to remain calm in the presence of the ogre. He does however tell one of his archers in the distance to keep an eye on the ogre.
Brumir looks rather uncomfortable working nearby the ogre. While he is still productive in his work, he doesn't take his eyes of the ogre._
-
Mathias jumps at the word of Ogre, his blade and shield drawn as he dropped his smithing hammer and he moves to Beorns side awaiting orders, the flames on his sword lick the air as his shield lights up the potential battle field. His stance remains ready for a fight and never leaving the ogre regardless of what the beast drops.
Eilonna looks up from her work as she hears the shout and rushes to the treeline jumping into the shadows as she moves through the trees invisible to the normal eye. Choosing her shot carefully she holds and waits for it to either show signs of aggression, or the decision to kill it to be made. One way or another, she is more then ready.
-
Marty mutters something about "letting it live" and "bad idea"
-
Alvaniel is spotted helping move stones for the mason's, bringing water and ale to the workers as well as food. She also helps clean up each day after the work is done.
She eyes Kanoro and says "All strong arms are more than welcome."
She has also set up a tent for herself to stay close to the activities and to help if any trouble arises and to offer help when needed.
-
_Beorn Battlemail wakes up to an early risen Z and pours ale into their steins from a large jug as he nods in greeting. He tugs at his beard as he looks over the construct, eyeing every detail and nodding in approval between gulps of ale. After tying his thinning hair behind his head and making a quick braid of his tangly beard, he straps his toolbelt over his keg of a belly and strides up to the slow forming tower with such spirit for work only a dwarf can appreciate.
Suddenly, out of the corner of his beady eyes, he sees a thick limbed creature lumbering towards the construction, a large hammer in its hand and a huge bag of clanking materials over it's shoulder._
"OGRE!!"
Legion and Union members quickly take up their steel and run to meet the sudden threat. As they get closer, the ogre simply stops in its tracks, showing no concern when he is surrounded by the points of a dozen steel blades and drawn bows. The ogre drops the bag to the ground, spilling several perfectly shaped iron nails from it.
"Yoo's Union? Me's Kanoro, me's here to help…"
The ogre looks over them, and when his eyes fall on the exquisite Union anvil brought out to the construction site, an innocent grin spreads across his thick ogre face.
-
Not being much of a stonemason, Albry spends the majority of her time hauling supplies from the Union Hall to the construction site, forming beams, smithing nails, and anything else her superiors ask of her.
-
Marty is occasionally present at the construction sight. When not simply keeping guard, she offers help in the form of the odd stoneshape spell, endurance and bulls str spells for the workers, and the creation of fresh water. She is usually only "passing through" though, either on her way to, or returning from the druid's grove to the south.
-
Myrhha sits on a high vantage point, eating apples, just watching and generally being less than helpful.
-
Eilonna is seen doing what ever she can to help out. Be it making carpets and rugs, helping with stone setting or forming up window bases. She also takes the time to serve out Legion Ales to all the workers present.

@3892477c40=AubreyMaturin:
Captain Romulus stops by to look at all the activity and chat with General Theaon.
"Looks great!" he says. "I hope we're going to bring the library and all the pictures of the Troff Family from the Tower when we move in."
"Of course we will. If Maythor found out I left the picture of Mama Troff behind, you'd be known as General Romulus soon after."

Mathias is seen taking orders from Elessar or any of the masters and generally spends a good deal of time positioning stones, securing them, doing much of the heavy lifting, or if needed, running to get supplies or more ale for the masters. Often coated in sweat except for when it rains he is hardly seen away from the site and if he is, he is either sound asleep or gathering things for the others.
-
Thorak, not really skilled with the stoneshaping art, spends his time carrying materials where needed, aiding with heavy load work, and giving strengh and endurance spells to those that need or ask for it. He seems quite content to be doing this low-skill job though.
-
_General Theaon Thorn of the Troff Legion can be seen at the construction site summoning earth elementals to help the Union members dig.
Meanwhile, Brumir Silverhammer can be seen casting strength blessings on Union workers and also helping to lay the framework. At times he also looks nervous, muttering something about "Gralin's mum."_

_The consistent sound of construction echoes up and down the Nars Pass once more, only this time it is further down the Long Road, just north of the Temple of Kelemvor. An interesting construction crew is at work, consisting of humans, dwarves, elves, and half-elves. They all work in a disciplinary fashion and waste little time. Everyone at their position seems to work it perfectly, with pride. The strict crew is the Union, and they are hard at work raising the framework for what looks to a sturdy tower.
Caravans of perfectly hewn stone blocks and other building resources continue to flow out of the Union halls and up the Nars Pass to the construction site.
They set up several campfires and large tents just outside the construction site, and several stay here when the sun goes down, continuing what work they can under torch light as they bellow to one another while drinking mugs of ale._

_Several dwarves shuffle slowly across the frozen parapet of the grey stone fortress that now looms over Sam's Hole. White frost cover their armor and beards. Other dwarves stand guard atop the towers, hunched in their steel plated armor and thick fur cloaks. Some keep their beady eyes and ballista directed to the North, some to the South.
Across the battlement, great carvings of helmed faces with huge beards cover every merlon between the crenels. Icicles hang from their broad chins and brow, but their eternal vigil continues. Each wearing a grim look, laced with sadness and pride, their cold eyes seem to follow those passing by.
Nothing but snow covered rubble surrounding the fortress remains of the construction site. Once the huge chained gate was winched into place, the main host of dwarves packed up their supplies and traveled back down the Nars to their homes with the cold of midwinter on their heels. Although the fortress seems to be completed, the sounds of construction continue to echo from below it.
A paragraph of Dethek runes are etched into the huge gate._
This place is Ihar Burakrin, the entrance to the great realm of Aura Runedar. Built in 1554 - The Year of the Dark Chosen.

Mid-day a cart pulls in, pulled by 4 laboring Rothe. The cart-driver is familiar to most in the area and known to be an ex-Chancellor of the Realm to the South.
Dwin whips the canvas off of his cart to reveal a dozen ale-kegs and thrice as many wheels of cheese and loaves of dark bread.
LADS! Ya been workin' hard. Tis time to work harder, me thinks… but only after you're properly nourished!
Dwin nods to one of the foremen on the job who starts beating a drum at regular intervals… The message behind the beats seems to be "ale is here, come and get it!" from the response of the laboring kin.
-
_A makeshift hin-tossing wall is swiftly erected and several bets are placed as Theaon is seen approaching, but the foremen has the wall torn down, and points to more appropriate target; the bottom Sam's Hole. Several hearty laughs go around as Beorn makes his way through the construction site to meet the Legion General. After a few words, Beorn claps the Halfling on the shoulder and gives him a firm nod, then escorts him into the Rats and Bats to speak and drink.
As the dwarven workers continue to bustle over the site, the walls of the construction continue to rise. Four incomplete walls at various heights begin to enclose the large shaft. The South wall has a large opening and the dwarves continue to haul pallets of resources through it, working the construction from the inside.
Tall wooden beams begin to rise from inside the construction, one team of dwarves pushing the beams upright while another team pulls at them with ropes, inserting them into stone carved holes. The wooden skeleton of the fortress quickly rises above the stone walls, forming the ceiling and two towers on the east and west end of the fortress.
Multiple dwarves work at various levels of ladders and scaffoldings. Some standing on the wooden beams as they are raised and lowered by rothe power to their exact positions. Buckets of nails and other tools are constantly flowing up and down between the workers as they use them to connect the joints of the wooden beams.
Roped stone blocks continue to rise and lower around the wooden frame and the foremen keep a sharp eye on every detail as they watch their designs take shape._
