New Whispers at the Fire

  • It seems that there was a zombie attack on the southern gates recently, evidenced by the charred pile of stunted bodies just outside. A traveller had commented that it might be prudent to burn all fallen bodies lest they turn into fodder for the Rat Tribe goblins, before limping to the shrine of Chauntea…

  • Spellweaver Professor Salin Ashald meets these rumors with a grin.

"Yes, Norwick should find a Chancellor that watches for the town's needs…"

He then waves the commoner farewell and proceeds for the town hall to find out when's the next election

  • A new rumor begins to spread through the town, word of the Chancellors failure to work with Aura Runedar after the matters of Ostromog, rumor says that they refused to even speak to the dwarves treating them like they would treat a slaver after the brave Beorn fell numerous times in the final push to free the town, not to mention that the Chancellor even refused to worry about freeing our poor neighbors so they could help us further in the fight and to reunite us as one town. Word says it is time for a NEW Chancellor, one that will protect Norwicks interests and NOT their own pockets, one that will make peace and friendship with the Dwarves of Aura Runedar who ARE citizens of Norwick, rekindle our friendship with Peltarch, and once again make Norwick a safe place for our children to play!!

  • Words are being spread through the farmers and citizens in a very hushed tone about the Chancellor and the Chiefs failures to protect Norwick, word speaks of them pushing away their allies and friends, draining away the guards and the militia over time, proof of that alone being the new recruits being seen within days of a new Colonel. Suggestions go out of a new election, yet it seems no one will admit where they hear this word from.

  • A huge burst of magic sprouted up from the Rawlinswood recently, turning into a blizzard heading east before dissipating.

  • @ClownBaby:

Several Union members are seen carrying heavy wooden crates out of the Union Hall and setting them down in the fairgrounds. As they start to unpack the crates, the fairgrounds come alive with color. Soon there are red banners hanging all around stitched with yellow letters that read "FIGHT NIGHT".

Fresh painted archery targets are set up and a large square is outlined in the middle of the fairgrounds. After all the crates have been emptied, the Union members roll out the final ingredient for the event, a huge keg marked with the Dwarven symbol of "Aura Runedar".

Looks like another Fight Night is about to begin!

//Gonna be about an hour later than expected. Starting aroung 9pm EST

  • Days later the young elf is seen returning from the gates solemn and quiet as she walks into the Grapevine speaking not a word to anyone and closing the door to an inn room

  • Whispers spread among the guards and the farmers of a young elven girl believed to be the Norwick Scout Eilonna Moonshadow racing to the south gate on her horse before dismounting and running off south seeming very distressed, those that would know Eilonna's horse would indeed recognize her mount staring out the gates waiting for her mistress whom has yet to return.

  • High-pitched groans, moans and the shambling of little zombie feet approached a trio of adventurers at Norwick's south gate, as a small army of goblin undead attacked. Some of the undead were strangely bloated patchwork creations, clouds of disease-carrying flies bursting out of their lifeless bodies during the fight. The Moldy Rat Tribe is rumoured to be responsible, several goblin necromancers identifiable amongst the bodies scattered near the gates.

  • _More "Missing" posters are posted around town:

Norwickian militiaman Adam Jensen, last seen guarding the north gates a week ago. Disappeared without a trace, some of his personal belongings are missing.

Mark Longjohn, a 17 year old boy who helps at the sawmill, has disappeared under similar and mysterious circumstances._

  • Jason is seen riding out hard from the Legion Tower and riding into Norwick seeming concerned, he is seen soon after whispering with Sir Timmot muttering something about Orcs migrating to the south from Peltarch and that the guards need to be on watch, sightings spoke of mages, hammerers, beast controllers and some with large blades.

  • There has been word that three adventurers, one baring markings of the Divine Shield named Peter, a lovely bard and warrior named Kima, and Yllalynn's apprentice Anna had gone to investigate the source of the storm.

The source of the storm was apparently over a set of three stones that they had discovered to be the Menhir, where goblins from another tribe completely were discovered there, perhaps either brought by or created by the very storm that had travelled down from the mountains.

After a long, hard fought battle, they noticed one of the goblins sacrifice the other within the Menhir, slitting its throat. As the shaman who dealt the ritual was finally slain, lights from the menhir could be seen from afar being sent to the sky before dissipating, what was described as a buzzing sound from the stones itself droned on for a little while as the unholy symbol at its base slowly dissipated.

A body from the new tribe of goblins, at least one that was mostly intact from the battle, had been dragged to Norwick for investigation to the Norwick militia. What they choose to do with it will be their own decision.

  • A small snow storm has swiftly rolled South into the Rawlins and settled around the lake south of Norwick, scouts are also reporting a strange chanting sound coming from the area, but the harsh weather is making it too difficult for them to find the exact location…

  • Kima Falstaff can be seen speaking with Timmot about the now missing people Wolfgang and Cody. She is then seen stopping in at the apothecary and thdn having an extended conversation with Eric at the Lumberyard. She is seen taking notes and then looking into a few other hunches she has.

  • _Another disappearance has rocked poor Norwick.

Cody Keelen, an indepedent small-time ranger who was known for wandering in the Rawlins, has been declared missing.

The odd thing is that it does not seem he has gone missing in the Rawlinswood, as he returned home safely from his last adventure, instead disappearing the following night from his room at the Grapevine.

No one at the inn seems to have seen or heard anything unusual that night._
