Whispers at the Fire
-
Tales are heard at the inn late one night of a goblin camp in the woods trails to the west of Norwick. Apparently a goblin camp with a hobgoblin overseer was in charge. But with the death of all, none can knwo exactly there purpose there.
Kalem put out the word though that he is looking for a priest of Illmater who might be interested in some odd items found at the camp.

_Rumors spread that about a month or so ago several rather tired, worn, and dirty looking folks came wandering in through the south gate in a daze. Among them was Ardent, scout of Norwick who had not been seen for several days, along with several others.
One elf in particular, when asked by some where they had come from, stated rather boldly, that the group had been through the Underdark…..All Of It! Or so was his claim.
This may have been the case, as some of the townsfolk noticed the party divvying up a rather substantial pile of treasure, before all wandering off in their separate ways._

Dwarfs work hard to build another gate, at the South of Norwick
-
Word ripples through the town of a recent visit by a white dragon, but no talk of an attack. Instead most tales have the dragon soaring north a short time later with the well known ranger Rasuil sitting high on its back.
-
Moira is seen praying at the Temple of Chauntea an awful lot lately. Unusual for her, she is dressed in a fine, flowing robe with her hair combed neatly and worn loose past the shoulders.
-
Rumor spreads a young girl who seems rather cold and emotionless seen walking around inquiring to the locals about the history of the Norwick Graveyard and where she might find more information on such. A scythe on her back and the symbol of Jergal about her neck.
-
As night fell on Norwick’s Gates, rain started to pour down and a playful wind blew the long hair of women all around. A typical night…. Or wasn’t it? As time passed, the night got darker and darker, lightning from the rain did not shiny the sky as they should, people south of the valley had to squint their eyes to see a few inches ahead of them.
The large group of people that insisted on staying by the gates was suddenly struck by a complete lack of light, the area around them darker than a dwarf’s room. Something wicked that way went.
As the absence of light lasted, a series of shadowy figures started pouring out. If those more subtle signs of an attack were disregarded, these things had everyone’s attention. The battle was on, into the dark blades and spells were used against those attackers… yet more showed up.
A feminine male elf stood still in the middle of the field, letting his companions fight, while he was focused on a different task. As the fight went on, he stood still, eyes closed in complete concentration.
He then headed east, coming back a few hours ago.
What he said when he got back?…. well.. you know wizards, they always have a way of saying things in a more complicate way than needed. What he found was a place that had some sort of lingering ritualistic spell capable of extending the reach of summoning enchantments.
As for who or what did that, no one knows, but yet, no one tried to figure that out…..
-
_Late in the evening a few nights ago, some of the people of Norwick said they saw an elf wandering aimlessly about the south gate. He was said to have been almost in a trance or a state of shock. Some said he was muttering in elven to himself….
Early the next morning, he was seen riding north from the Inn. The keeper mentioned that he had lodged there last night and that several other customers had complained of some kind of awful row coming from his room which kept most of them up all night._

_Rumor spread that the tower of María was heavily surrounded by a horde of bugbears and whilst some adventurers cleared the entrance to the tower, there was still half a hundred remaning when María arrived to Nowick.
People didn't witness this, but they said they heard and saw thunders and lightning far in the distance, and some blinding light. Next morning there was not a single bugbear to be seen around the tower anymore._
-
A young Man has been seen entering the town and warming his hands by the south gate. He looked dusty and ruggished from long travels and has been conversing with townfolks in a friendly demanour.
-
In addition to word being spread, a notice is quickly posted by Cecil about the possible threat. It's big, bold, and red. His handwriting is surprisingly neat, too!
-
Word spreads around norwick of three giant spiders lurking around the area. and that just their touch can be lethal to those infected and also to those around the infected ones.
-
To those who frequent Norwick, and know of the guard that some joke about having 1/4 or more giant's blood in him, he has been more somber since the gate attack, despite still forcing up a smile for everyone he meets, and the usual giant pick-you-up hugs for the usual crew.
That is, until today.
Is it the result of some talks he's had at the gate, or because of the pile of things he sat vigil over for a night? Perhaps it's the letter he stops to read several times in the same morning, breaking him into a huge grin.
Maybe the inn gave him a free breakfast?
Who knows? Regardless, it seems Cecil has had the time, or other influence he needed to keep his chin up that little bit higher. As if he wasn't tall enough…
-
A black clad scout is seen carrying some of her personal effects along with a trusty canvas hammock to her horse. Tying these things to the saddle and tucking them into the saddlebags she departs the north gate without a word. Her appearance if of one who has recently covered from illness and her armor seems to fit her loosely.
-
_After the most recent and determined attack on the south gates of the town, several folk see a dwarf, one whom some may recognize as inquiring about prices for renting shop space in recent times, mumbling about how "They" will never do that to any "Friends" of his ever again, not while he is on two legs.
He is seen to stomp about looking for something, until finally he is last spotted with a hand bill clenched in his fist, heading toward the Redcloaks Militia Barracks. The flyer reads "Wanted a Few Good Souls"._

Sirion delivers an invoice billing the Norwick Scouts for the cost of One Strong Electrical Trap, One Highly Flammable Robe Dry Cleaning, One Cure Critical Wounds Potion, and five gold as a processing fee, along with a note saying this can be avoided in the future if your scouts recognize a flagged friendly trap when they see one.

@ac5c455a29=JerrickRafe:
He seems to be interested in acquiring moonstones, and by the sound of it, a lot of them.
_Hearing Cecils moaning Arlan takes out a box in his pack and gives it a look, Oh my there are quite a lot of Moonstones in there!
"Great….competition..."_
-
The well known guard Cecil can be seen stomping through town carrying bags and bags of goblin loot, grumbling frustratedly about the number TWO. TWO moonstones, he says. Of ALL the gobs in the Rawlins, and the caves, two.
He seems to be interested in acquiring moonstones, and by the sound of it, a lot of them.

Also mentioned, The gate has fallen, The times of peace are at an end and the cycle has begun anew.
-
Word spreads around the fire of a goblin who was seen controlling the minds of norwick scouts and civilians. when confronted the goblin casted invisibility to retreat. those who were mind controlled were heard saying they were going to kill norwicks leaders for their new master.
