Whispers at the Fire

A "pretty" dwarven woman was seen entering the Grapevine Inn with the well known captain of the Norwick guards, Locrian. It is said they entered an upstairs private room, her clinging to his leg and looking down right giddy and lovestruck. She left not too long after that, (which left some snickering at the Captain's stamina) though it seems perhaps Locrian was left to re-cooperate in the inn room for much longer. Or maybe he was locked in there.
In the few moments Vander is in town and hearing the rumors, he can't help but laugh outloud:
"Eh, woot do ya think? Dat's got ter be un new world record record, eh? Woot was it? Two minutes?
But ye kin nay blame du speedy captein, eh. Ee be used to dem lasses wit no meat round du bone, wasnt ready fer dealin wit da dwarven splendor in du best 'f its form!!"*He laughs and chuckles away, helping to spread the rumor *

Rumor has it that a lone drow murdered a number of peaceful campers within the Rawlinswoods. But rumors are odd things, since some of the rumors say the drow even led the guards out to see his handiwork, then tried to kill them too. Some say he didn't. All anyone really knows is that there's four bodies at the temple, one a child. Oh, and there's a drow in the jail.

Recently, Albry is seen walking about town with the militia greencloak Charles Smithson every morning and afternoon, catching him every now and then when his legs seem to buckle beneath his own weight. One can only wonder why she's taken such an interest in the young man.

Any who travel near the hobgoblin cave find a disturbing sight. Ten hobgoblin heads are stuck to makeshift pikes made from branches, forming an arc around the cave entrance. The faces have been smashed in beyond recognition (more-so than usual). A note can be found stuck to the ground, held by a stick. The lettering is jagged, either written on a rock or by a shaky hand (or both), and reads: "Your actions shall be repaid tenfold and more."

Benny Lurough could have been seen handing a large number of coins to Captain Sticks. If one would have overheard their conversation, they would gather that Benny sought passage to Thay. He left on a different boat, captained by a friend of Sticks heading toward the horizon.

_Quite suddenly, as nightfall rolled over Norwick so too did clouds over Spellweaver Keep. Fingers of lighting cracked down around the tower as the storm grew.
And what it grew into was a black tornado which enveloped Spellweaver entirely in dark, fast, swirling, clouds.
Come morning the column of storm clouds lifted and curled into a ball that streaked north to dissipate to nothing over the Icelake._

For the last week it's very common to see María being followed around by a Lantern Archon, they seem to speak in celestial and those who speak the language would notice she's merely practicing the language and inquiring the celestial being about it's plane
-
A group of children follow along behind waiting for easy coin…. er. Good intentions to return.
-
Charles Smithson, Norwick green cloak, has been seen around town sulking mostly, and lashing out at random citizens and children. It seems his good-natured intentions have all but faded as the brooding man goes on about his duties.
-
One of the druids from the local druid glenn can be seen investigating the burns in the forest, asking citizens about the town what happened. Upon hearing the rumors, he just seems to shake his heads, seeming very sad at the news.
-
_Four defenders bravely fought off a horde of goblins that were intent on assaulting the small town of Norwick. These defenders were: Maria, Ama'bael', Ronan, and Kyan. The goblins stood little chance against the fire, lightning, and ice that destroyed wave after wave of goblin. Ama'bael bravely holding them off as the mages cast their spells.
The goblins went so far as to use catapults, which were destroyed by Maria. Though the fire she conjured spread to the surrounding area, creating a large inferno in one section of the forest. Ronan put the fires out with the aid of a water elemental and a few spells of ice.
The goblins fled after their catapults were gone, going back into the woods to perhaps plot another siege._
-
Some say that Zazamoukh the Second has been seen about Norwick lately, mostly complaining about the constant snowing whilst verbally abusing the odd commoner or two.
-
A long, quiet discussion took place between Albry and Devlin. Emotions ranged from somber to pleased throughout. It ended with Devlin planting a soft kiss on Albry's cheek before retiring to the Grapevine. It would seem the once couple have made amends.

Ama and Therean are seen buying a crisp new tent in Norwick, along with fresh pillows and blankets, them seemingly trying to make a tent home as comfortable as possible. Shortly after they slip into the woods east of Norwick with the very pregnant Lyda. Rumor spreads they are setting up a birthing tent because her child is due at any moment.

Accepting such a kind offer, the young woman gives the senator an embrace to show her appreciation. A warm, caring smile and a small recollection to him of how evil druids had cursed her and that it would take a wish or a miracle to have it removed, and that she'll never give up until it is. Seeming to be comforted and touched by his kindness, with the extended spell making going outside bearable. She's last seen heading towards the boat's direction with a cheerful smile on her face and a bit more spring to her step.

Rumor has it that the small halfling has been sitting near the fire for hours at a time, whether its within the inn or just outside by the campfire. Teeth chattering as she wraps herself in a warm fur cloak, it seems to do little to cure her desire for warmth. Now and then a kind adventurerer would offer her a blessing to ward off the elements, but they do not persist very long.
On one of his visits to Norwick, Ronan notices the freezing halfing. He offers her a drink at the inn to help warm her up, then offers to pay for a room for her for a week… lest she does not want his charity. If not, he offers extended versions of the elements spell that last two days.

A scouting party led by Mike Bin ventured into the woods west of the Crossroads and south of the Gypsy Camp. Deep in the woods to the south, past the land of the giant spiders, they found a summoning circle glowing in the dark. It was a five-pointed star (glowing red and white), with a wolf's tooth and a human skin in the middle; and two rings and three candles at the points. Each attempt to touch it, attack it, or dispell it was followed by howling from the woods and a subsequent attack by two or three werewolves. First Reo, then Mike, John, Arlan, and Romulus fled. The latter four were pursued and cornered, but managed to defeat all the werewolves. The circle remains.

*The farmer and crafter folks know simply as "Z" has been spotted around the Union Hall a lot more than he has been over recent months.
Occasionally leaving the hall in his grubby leather apron, it seems he's taking orders and ready for business once again.*
